- The "Ramazzotti Martinez". An original creation of mine, this fits perfectly in my Amaro Martinez series. Leveraging the berry, cola and bitterness of Ramazzotti, this is a great Martinez with lots of character. Fruity, bitter and well balanced, this is def a must make!!!
Ingredients include:
45 mil/1.5 oz Amaro Ramazzotti
45 mil/1.5 oz Gin
10 mil/.33 oz Maraschino liqueur
2-3 Dashes - Angostura bitters
Stir down with ice for 20-25 seconds
Serve "up" in a chilled cocktail glass
Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.
This cocktail sounds excellent! Could you please educate me, and tell me what the difference is btw, a "Martini" and a "Martinez"?
Thank you so much!!! A "Standard" Martinez is basically gin, sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur, 2-3 Dashes of Angostura bitters. A classic Martini, generally is gin, dry vermouth and orange bitters. There are literally hundreds of versions of a Martini. Lots of ways to play around with both, so have some fun!! CHEERS and thanks for the awesome question!!!
@@TheSpiritoftheCocktail thank you! I just had never heard the term "Martinez" before. I love martinis; Bombay Sapphire (or equivalent), dry with (extra) blue cheese olives! Ooh La La! 😀
@@tonyn152 The Martinez actually pre-dates the Martini. Originally, it was made with Genever, gin's predecessor. I def love an extra dirty Martini!!!!
I thought the same! Great learnings always available from Tim
Tim! I am so excited that you are doing this Amaro Martinez series! You know I love amaro almost as much as you!
I will be trying them all.
KURT!!! I'm def enjoying this series!! I try to use that same gin in every Martinez so the Amaro stands out!! I have a couple of bottles still waiting to be tried!!! CHEERS my brother!!!
This sounds great!
ROB!!! I think you'll love this!!! A nice bitterness but a great fruity note!!! CHEERS brother!!!
Another banger!
PETE!!! I def liked this sipper!! The bitterness was actually surprising considering how it was neat!! You'll love this!!! CHEERS to you!!!
TIM! Amaro on ice or with soda is my fav after dinner sip. But I’ll never kick a good amaro cocktail out of bed. This sounds like another banger, my brother! Cheers! ✌🏾
VINO!!! Amaro on ice is def a great call. You'll love this for sure!!! CHEERS to you my brother!!!
Love the Amaro Martinez series
CHAPPY!!! Thanks a lot!!! I love doing them for sure!! Such a great cocktail!!!! CHEERS to you!!!
Looks great Tim! Never heard of this version
Thanks!! In this series, I usual come up with a fancy name for the cocktail, but in this case, I just went with the name of the Amaro, and kept it moving!! This was a great sip!! CHEERS!!!
Tim, this really sounds good! The fruitiness along with some bitterness is very appealing to me. Definitely going to need to try this one! CHEERS my friend!!
PAUL!!! You'll dig this!!! Its def on the bitter side, but in a good way!!! A very nice sip indeed!!! CHEERS to you my friend!!!
Tim!!! This sounds great!
MARCO!!! How's it going!!! This cocktail turned out pretty good!!! If you're into Amaro, this is a great sip!!! CHEERS my brother!!
Love the coaster! This looks fantastic! Should I have it tonight for my guests?
ICEMAN!!! Ann give me a few of these coasters last year, so you'll see them more in upcoming videos. If your guests like a slightly bitter sipper, go for it!!! This is a great way to start off a meal!!! Tell me how you like it!!! CHEERS brother!!!
@@TheSpiritoftheCocktail These people will take whatever I give them! And if they don't like it, there is someone in the house who will finish the cocktail for them...
This sounds like a lovely sipper!
MATT!!! Other than the Cynar Martinez, or the Doc Martinez, this might be my fav!!! SLAINTE!!!
Hi TIM!!! I have not tried this.
DAVID!!! If you can get Ramazzotti, give this a try!!! A very nice sip indeed!!! CHEERS brother!!!
TIM!! This is the first one we tried from your Amaro Martinez series and it was incredibly delicious. We'll decline the template with all our Amari, I think. Great job friend!!
Thanks for trying it out!!! Depending on what Amaro I'm using, I sometimes go with 30 mil of Amaro. This is a fun sipper to play around with!!! CHEERS!!!
yet another amaro I cannot source. Saw it years ago but did not pick up now I am kicking myself!
STEPHANE!!! I going to dig a tunnel, nevermind..... Def grab this is you ever see it!! It is a great Amaro with lots of character. CHEERS my brother!!!
I wish I could find Ramazotti. This sounds great. I love a Martinez
PS Have you tried it with the more traditional orange bitters?
I found a store that stocks this all the time!! I got real lucky!! This is my template to test all of my Amari in a cocktail!! CHEERS!!!
@@DarrellSCady YES!!! It kind of interferes with certain Amari, so I just use Ango. It really adds a nice layer of flavor to this cocktail...
Damn man just catching up on your videos!! Been busy! Loving the sound of this . Gotta get me some Ramazotti!
Do more of your original creations, they look amazing! You could have these pre-mixed and sell them in the stores, this seems to be a trend right now, I've been seeing so many different specialty drinks that are already made, all you have to do is pour, but I like doing it the old fashioned way, nothing like making your own. Patten this NOW!
Hey Tim I think you secretly love me and want to change your last name to Martinez. lol. If anything is going to be called "The Ultimate Martinez". then it should be named after me. 🤣 Love the series. I will have to hunt more amaro to make all these great sounding cocktails. cheers brother.
DOC!!! My love for you is no secret!! (Wait, this is getting a little weird). My "Doc Martinez" is def one of my fav's, but this is a contender!! A very interesting sip!!! CHEERS my brother!!
AWESOME DRINK NAME!
