September,1972. Los Jaivas was founded in 1963 under the name The High Bass. They changes in 1968 the name to Los Jaivas by phonetical similar pronunciaton in Spanish of the first name. And they start to produce their music trough improvisations until 1971, when published their first álbum El Volantin (The Papercomet). This video is of 1972.

Maestro los jaivas son la mejor banda latino americana o tal vez de todo América y del mundo es la mejor banda de rock progresivo mezclando algo de folclor andino y tiene muchos tip de flamenco y música asiática pero no es por influencia ya que ellos jamás escucharon otra música o bandas no por arrogantes si no para evitar la influencia en su música. Muchos de sus instrumentos musicales fueron diseñados por ellos mismos y como dato única banda autorizada para tocar y grabar en las sagrada tierra Peruana, si en la altura de Machupichu. Esto es una caja de Pandora bienvenido al místico mundo musical de los Jaivas. Saludos desde Chile.

@@madtv112this band is very old, sadly the guitarist/vocalist and drummer pass away. That is the reason I recommend you react to the official studio album song with all the original members and then live performances without the original members

The original name of the band was in English: "High bass" pronunciation in English sounds like this: Crabs Jaibas or jaiba are crustaceans from the sea of Chile, that is, crabs. I mean, the translation of the band into English is "The crabs" which is what high bass sounds like to the ear in Spanish😂 Given that detail that the Chilean public said and wrote the crabs instead of High bass is that the group gives up and decides to adopt the popular name as it sounds and as it is written in Spanish😅

That video is from the 60´s and there are 2 original members of the band still in action. Th e bass and the keyboard player. The bass player in 2023 is also singer and the lady in drums is the daughter of the original drummer who passed away quite young.

I will get to it though , But as it will be longer for a full abum It will takes some time , because I do 1 song per time. People get bored alot after 1 song :(

I listen to a lot of music, bands like Genesis, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Gentle Giant, Brand x, Wheather Report, Sof Machine, mahavishnu orchestra, , tangerine dream, porcupine tree, La maquina de hacer pajaros, Serú Girán, Dead Can dance, Congreso etc ..
But the Jaivas give you that something extra, I don't know how to explain it with words, it's a unique feeling.
