I LOVE this guest you've chosen. I feel like there are so many elements of "women's health"/elements of health that impact people with uteruses etc that we just don't learn about - menopause, pregnancy and birth, PCOS, endometriosis. I'd love to see an expanded series that focuses on other elements of "women's health"/health of people with uteruses ❤

It is not an ahole move to let people know that you're awake in a room where they're trying to get intimate. I have also had this happen to me, but I didn't say anything. I ended up cutting that friend out of my life, but I think it is crossing a major boundary to put someone in that position. There were other circumstances that made me cut her out, but this was the straw on the camel's back. I think the only way to approach the subject now is to say like "hey, I understand you're embarrassed, but I assure you it's okay, it's a natural thing. Just please be a little more mindful of who else is in the room next time so you can truly have your privacy!"

You said that beards or cuffed jeans depend on the person, but if they don't drive it's immediately "not hot".
I don't drive due to an invisible disability and I've definitely learned how off putting it is to people to say "I don't drive." if I don't also explain why, which I don't always want to share. It especially sucks when dating. And I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't. If I say I don't drive, they make all kinds of assumptions about my level of maturity, responsibility, income, etc. but if I explain that I just CAN'T drive due to a disability, then I'm either doubted or infantilized.
    I'm still hot, damn it.

I went on a couple dates with a guy when I didn't have a car. After the first date, I left a movie at his house by accident. It was not just any movie I could find super easily. It was Interstellar 5555 an anime set perfectly to the music from Daft Punk's Discovery album. I found it at a local record store where the owner is obsessed with Daft Punk. The first time I saw this movie was the first time I did acid. There was a lot of sentimental value attached, so I went on a second date so that I could pick it up. He had to pick me up for both dates because I did not have a vehicle. I can't remember if he got the Lyfts for me at the end of the evening or if I did, but either way, two weeks later, he calls me clearly drunk berating me for not having a vehicle. Even though he knew the only reason I didn't have one was because I spent a lot of money out of pocket on the one that I wrecked 6 months after purchasing it. I obviously need to save in order to purchase another vehicle at that point. He claimed "He bought a house on his own, so why can't I own a car?" It was such a bazaar experience. He was just drunk, irrational, and pissed he wasn't interesting enough for a third date, and now he's taking it out on a situation I could not control. After explaining twice that he knows the situation and he is out of line for calling out of the blue to bring it up, I just yelled "f*ck you" into the phone and hung up.
I am really sorry that people are not understanding about this issue. It seems really strange to me. It can cost an obscene amount of money just to park your car somewhere in large cities. I just paid $600 for 6 months of insurance. It is expensive to drive and maintain a vehicle on top of the fact that some people such as yourself simply cannot drive. I thought their reaction to that option on the list was really strange and super cringe. It is not that big of a deal if people do not drive. To me, if it means they use a bike as transportation instead, it means they actually are pretty damn hot. We need more people riding bikes instead of adding exhaust to the atmosphere and allowing fuel companies to see record profits while they destroy our planet. Anyway, I hope people start to treat you better instead of judging you for trivial reasons. You deserve better than that.

On the ability to drive being hot or not: that can turn ableist really quickly, because some people have conditions that don’t allow them to drive. Also, if you live in a city like New York with very little parking space, and very good public transportation, many of them never learn how to drive.

Other than her assuming that libido is just a physical arousal instead of a mental and physical arousal combo for both amabs and afabs, and then implying that amabs only have physical arousal and that there isn't a difference for all sexes (albeit the disconcordance is different, but there are disconcordances between the two for all sexes), this was great. Appreciate the attempt at inclusion, but there were still misrepresentations. Just because an amab has an erection, does not mean they are mentally aroused, which is a key part of arousal as a term. People can be physically aroused and not have mental arousal and vice versus. Regardless of sex. It is more likely to be congruent in amabs- that is true- but certainly not a given. Good attempt at explaining there are differences, but very ham fisted in the black and white explanation.

    • @Hmm...Whats-Their-Name
      @Hmm...Whats-Their-Name Год назад +1

Everything else has been great info, and very supportive and solid health (including the mental side) advice. But I think she has been blinded to the patients that she doesn't provide care for, similar to the docs that do basically all research on Amabs. Bit hypocritical, but I can see why she is. Having an erection doesn't mean someone is aroused- they were just physically stimulated, popping a pill to achieve an erection only ensures you have an erection, it doesn't establish arousal. Men get raped too. Just like how some women have gotten wet or had an orgasm during "unwanted sex," and were not aroused, some men get erections bc of unwanted physical stimulation. There are two sides of arousal. Physical arousal is not the only determining factor, and certainly not the defining characteristic.

Personally, I don’t participate in hook up culture and I’ve never been into someone enough for it to go all the way so I’m just honest about that (: This also lets them know that if they were planning to have a 1 night stand with me, they need to move along because it’s not gonna happen LOL

Great information, if everything goes well this should do the job. But listen, there's one factor that's usually overlooked that can considerably speed up the process, unfortunately I do not have it at hand, but it can be go’ogled Dobbie Nerkstrol's Infertility Cure, I think.

I’d call my gf baby always. If I was gay I don’t think it would fit, but I may be biased in being straight. Curious if it’s used amongst my gay friends.

Why would it be different for gay couples?

Looks like you’ve put on a little weight recently Matt. I could use walking a bit more myself tbh

the f buddy that wants their partner to be obsessed should not engage in fwb situations she's not mature enough to handle it.

Genuinely, like having a healthy FWB dynamic should really come with a mutual understanding not to do this crap. It doesn't even sound like she likes this dude as a friend, based on her saying he has so many icks and red flags.

@@morgueish nah, you can hate a lot of things about a person but still be compatible in bed. sometimes it's just enough to get the stress release and just be on your way. I had a partner that was a probably a certifiable mess and a slob. I finally had to call it quits when she got out of her car and a storm of trash followed her.

@@gilbertjacobs3705 yeah this does not change my mind 😓 if you hate a lot of things about a person and you're just having sex with them for the stress release, that's not a fwb. Because you're not their friend. You shouldn't lie to them and call yourself their friend. You're having a recurrent hookup with someone you don't have any investment in. Not cool to be dishonest about that kind of thing 🤷‍♂️ I'd be hurt and sad if I found out one of my fwb felt this way about me.

I too have dropped my southern accent because people immediately assume you're dumb. 🫤
