1. What if Deku worshipped Mythopoeia (basically he believes in Cthulhu and other monster myths. He tries to perform rituals to try and summon them or gain power to become a hero or become corrupted and become a villan) or 2. What if Deku had a Mythopoeia quirk
To be fair Superman had no other heroes to compare his abilities to. He thought he was a freak since no one else had abilities like him. Read the comics and understand the nuance.
