Great video!!! We're struggling with the fuel solenoid on our Next Gen generator, which is a Kubota engine. I'm going to try to corrosion X it like you did. 🤞
It should be easier on a generator (better access) it's only 2 bolts but this is a common thing, if you don't use it so often its best to press the off button now and then. It can also stick in he open position then the motor wont start.
It's a $30 part. Just replace and be done with it. Lubing it will not extend life very long. Electromagnets get weak over time and lube will not fix. Glad you have a manual fuel cutoff workaround as you will need it soon without replacing.
Thanks for your input, but I did this in June 2022 and, it's still working perfectly. It was nothing to do with the magnet, the plunger was stuck out. Trying to get Beta Marine parts in Portugal is almost impossible since Brexit, Beta Marine won't post to Portugal. I did find a Kubota tractor agent in Faro but they could not help me! But if you can find me one for $30 posted to Portugal, I will replace it. lol
