I would have loved to use Lulu for the elemental dark aeons with magic only and then finish them with the so iconic overdrive of hers. Picture the ending of this battle as Lulu with her arms raised is the air and Firaga striking over and over until overkill :O
255 of everything? dude that must've been some BORING grind. The game itself becomes SO boring just before you hit the final boss. I was stressing myself through the final fight just because I didn't want to be playing the game, but wanted to see the ending. Was worth it, amazing ending, but fuck, I never picked it up again.
I've maxed out all my stats in order to fight penance and let me tell you its super boring. Especially since you have to use clear spheres and then keep using kottos and earth eater to farm for spheres. Took me forever but it was worth it.
Yu Narukami penance is really hard even with max stats, however i found that you have a very very very great fight and real struggle, when you fight him with only a few stats maxed ^^ it's a bit more tactical if you don't have max stats ^^

Quick Hit is also alot more efficient compared to just regular attack since it gives you more attacks. Also thanks, I did put in a lot of hard work into maxing out my characters and 100% the game Only reason I did it is because I really love FFX and its my favorite game in the series.

@silverjunky Lulu's Armour must've had the Ribbon effect. This has status immune to MOST effects. Including Death, but not the Super-Death or whatever it's called (Dark Bahumet has it). I assume Dark Shiva only had Death-Strike on her normal attacks.

It's not that they removed them they just weren't in the game. Then the International version got released and the Dark Aeons were in it. I guess sometimes it doesn't pay to get the game first before everyone else. It's a shame as the Dark Aeons were one of the main things you trained up to kill, and after killing them all you got to fight another hidden boss called Penance.
@FantasyFan4Eva yes, remove spheres that boost ur stats less than 4 and replace them with others, this way ur 255 stats take as little room as possible on the grid and u get more room for hp. also, you can remove all accuracy and evasion spheres and replace them with 255 luck --> more room for hp

If You delete all accuracy spheres that are less than 4, it's possible to reach 255 with her too. You may be right about the luck effect though. Well, he could but that would require him to have 99 X-Potions and no other potions, since he cant use Trio of 9999 in a Lulu only scenario. It's still technically easier then getting Break HP Limit, but there ARE more then one playstyle ya know.
personally i think they should have kept little secrets that make the game ultra easy once you discover them like the glitch that makes death always work no matter what in ff6
They did in the PAL version of FFX, after deafeating them all you had to fight penance, the final boss in the game, which has 10 million HP. Honestly a more satisfying boss to kill has never found its way into the FF series. Did the North America version have the Expert sphere grid?
You need HP Apeiron, an Armor skill that need 30 Wings to discovery, the simplest way to obtain it is using Bribe on Moloboro and Great Moloboro, but u will need a big amount of guil. Or you can receive 30 Wings to Discovery (enough to Customize Break Hp Limit) for winning the Remiem Chocobo Race after opening 3 chests and not touching any poles. This is a one time only deal.
Screw HP, go for auto protect, Defence + 20%, Auto - Haste and auto potion. Just as people do with aeons, Break HP limit is not worth it from what I noticed
@TDEX2008 u remove all +1 +2 +3 and replace tehm with +4 nodes u can get from i think it was paying off/killing certain monsters in the carnival thingy.

I wonder... Wouldn't Doublecast+Drain work better than Curaga? I've always used it with my Anima, but I won't swear that it's gonna be working for normal characters as well.
I think it should be a good idea, max stats+BDL can do the job aside the Celestial Weapons. Someday, when I have back my ps2, or Squareenix re-release this game in another plataform, I'll try =D
Would an evade and counter weapon not be more effective? Or is it impossible to deal max damage to her without the Celestial Weapons ignoring defense?
@HixXxXxiH Soft toys killing enemies, that has to be magical stuffing in them, although the logic is very questionable about how a soft toy would hurt someone albeit poorly.

To be fair, it is. Here Squaresoft has made a monster arena with many different strong enemies that requires training and some thinking to beat. Then we have all the dark aeons thats scattered all around Spira. And then.. Penance. Now how do we do this? It requires some planning an.. ah what the hell !!we summon yojimbo so he can do the 1-hit kill on Spiras most powerful monsters! So yeah if its cheating is debatable... PART 2 above...
@ridohasheru do u still have to fight them even after ur not a traitor and when u fight sin on the airship hitting the purple dot or something cause i m screwed and don't know how to get rid of them
She's already doing the max damage on her normal attacks, and double casting will give shiva more turns. If anything doing that will make the battle longer
TheSanarossOne I loved the story of FFX, but the one thing I hated about the game is that it gave you so many offensive options, but as the game progressed, enemy immunities would grow until eventually Hastega + Quick Hit with the occasional Overdrive became the only viable offensive strategy. Flans and Elementals being the only exceptions since you had to use magic against them.
PART 2... Sure i dont use a cheat device or push a secret code, but dont you think that Zanmato is the easy way out and really takes the challenge away? I think so. I prefer some thinking and to defeat the enemies the way it was meant to be. Just my opinion.

The japanese version doesn't include the Dark Aeon Battles, they are only in the international PAL versions of Final Fantasy X :)

I've never played the international version, but in the US version, you can do that, I've done it.
The Luck at 255, grants you always critical hits and evade attacks!

i took the "quick" way once for fun, it took about 4 hrs to get everyone's grid fully completed

was ffx-2 not good? i haven't got it i'm just curious cause it's along the same story arc so i assumed it'd be half decent compared to ffxi and ffxii
the INTERNATIONAL was released everywhere less US, XD, at least to europe it was since i fought the dark eons

so they fixed it in the international version so that curaga heals over 9999 hp...pretty annoying when u have super high hp

dark shiva is non-elemental nul-frost wouldnt work same for all the dark aeons
Magic does nothing to dark aeons, you must use basic physical attacks and physical overdrives.
