I’m so glad to see more people learning about holding Absence, there absolutely amazing especially this song as well as their other new single birdcage and like a shadow off of there last album, I highly recommend checking out those two songs
I definitely will. I really enjoyed them and will definitely add more to the plan.
From the same Artist - Wilt: live versions deserve a video from you! I'm love with that song.
Thank you, Chase for going with something new and not following a path trodden by most "reaction video" authors!
Thank you for supporting. I'll definitely be throwing some different artists in the mix amoung the other "more popular" reaction groups.
Thank you very much! I've heard song earlier, but had no clue who it was. New stuff for my playlist.
Nice one. Love that people are being introduced to artists just like I am.
React to penance by holding absence. That song is phenomenal
I agree
Gods, yes. That one is a total masterpiece.
Nice reaction! I have never heard of this band but it's kind of taking me back to middle school/high school emo music lol. I enjoyed it though, will have to take a closer look. This is the kind of thing I'd like to have on while cleaning the house... tend to leave the heavier stuff for my earbuds since the hubby doesn't listen to that much 😜 thanks for putting on my radar
Sounds like a solid plan. Yeah, definitely a bit of a throwback.
@@ChaseCarneson you had said you were in a band, have you ever said what the name was?
hey Chase. Just found this one: TRiDENT『Continue』- jawdropping power trio in the likes of Band-Maid. the drummer is crazy. great & catchy tune, phantastic musicians. have fun with it :) love your inside thoughts on all the videos! Thanks!
G'day, always like watching and listening to your reactions.
I'm trying to send links but can't seem to do it properly.
I'm such a technophob. 🤣🤣🤣
Not sure why that's happening. Other option is so post on Twitter and tag me @ChaseCarneson
Yeah, very good! They' re smart enough not to have overextended themselves in any direction. Plenty of room to grow, but it really does sound like the potential is there. Nice
Completely agree. Lots of room for growth and expanding of their sound.
Man I love half time drums. A certain band I might have been urging you towards are great at them :)
Hahaha I hear you. They're in the plan for sure. Lots of requests but they're in there.
I knows :) not intending to rush ya, just adding some hype haha.
I've been waiting quite some months to get Sleep Token onto a couple other channels so I'm quite sympathetic to the process.
@@paravarium well we definitely have another ST coming soon so that's a win.
Was the first song I ever heard of theirs in fact. I think my first go with Jaws I was too distracted by the music video, but I found the chorus and composition so infectious, it's been an addiction since!
that was an enjoyable song, it didnt blow me away in a sense but good none the less. Quite the mix of music on the channel. Gonna suggest the bands "Unprocessed" and "spiritbox"
Nice one thanks for those.
Great analysis. Agree that they are young. Maybe their sound will mature eventually. I wouldn't put them on my playlist yet, but I think their future content may have potential.
I'm sure you've got it on your list somewhere, but if not I'd love it if you did Ghost River by Nightwish (Wacken 2013). It's one of their less technical songs, much more straightforward than most, but Marco really shines and along with Storytime it's probably my favourite.
I hear you there, Ruan. Yeah Ghost River is on the list for sure. Loads of NW coming soon and working my way through it all.
I know your list of J-metal girl groups is probably getting long, and I have a few requests in there, but I want to add one more, for historical relevance. The Japanese hard-rock/metal scene was initially triggered by a series of Japanese tours in the early 1970's by Deep Purple, and some exposure to Black Sabbath. By 1980, Japan had an active hard-rock scene and the beginnings of a metal scene. Interestingly, despite, or perhaps because of, the overt sexism of Japanese culture, a lot of the earliest, hardest groups were all-girl bands. The one that had the biggest impact was Show-Ya, founded in 1981 (before Metallica), with their line-up taking its current form in 1983. That line-up are still recording and touring today (there was a brief period in the 1990's when they had a different lead singer). They also sponsor an annual rock festival for women artists, where many of today's best bands got early exposure. They are my heroes, in a way, and deserve enormously more recognition than they get in the West. Here is my favorite song of theirs, performed in 2012 (essentially a 30th anniversary concert; earlier videos are not as good quality). The title means "I Am The Storm" and its message is basically "Are you man enough to be with me?" ruclips.net/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/видео.html I hope you'll do this before getting too deep into the J-metal vortex.
Thank you for all this info and the reccomendation.
@@ChaseCarneson most welcome, I hope it's not too much!
Hey chase, would love to hear you do another reaction for Unleash The Archers! My pick would be Northwest Passage or Test Your Metal. Thanks!
Well then, you're in luck. I think tomorrow reaction is for UTA. 👍👌
Very familiar style, later emo stuff. Breaking Benjamin, three days grace, trapt, hoobastank, I’m forgetting 2 or a hundred. But that was a good performance, and spacey engulfing soundscape. Def derivative, but of the good “singalong like you mean it” stuff
I was originally here for the Japanese set. I probably put a Doll$boxx request, because I’ve convinced myself BandMaid is modeled after one of their videos. But here’s my favorite Doll$Boxx video that’s musically more in this direction. Still in Japanese, but I feel like this summary helps: drummer sings in English “Dominated the ancient world wars, his name is Dragonet” about the last dragon banished to cry blood from the stars forever

Nice one, Tim. Yeah I agree with that sentiment completely. Thanks for the suggestion too. I'll give it a listen and put it in the plan
@@ChaseCarneson Doll$Boxx is a great suggestion from @tim Gove. This is one of their newer ones. They are a collaborative project between Gacharic Spin (also worth checking out) and Fuki, the lead vocalist for several major Japanese groups including Lightbringer and Unlucky Morpheus. You could get completely lost in the Japanese metal and technical rock scene.
Please checkout Maki Oyama, cover of old Loudness track/In the mirror.Cheers.
If you like this (and you also like Band-Maid and Babymetal), I would imagine you would really like ONE OK ROCK. I'm not a fan of everything One Ok Rock does, but I really really enjoy their song called "The Beginning". I recommend you check that out.
Another technically excellent reaction. And as always I am requesting The Warning Band and their song The End (Stars Always Seem To Fade) the LIVE at Lunario CDMX version please.
Thank you for the awesome comment. I'll make sure to give them a look and put them in the plan. There's quite a few requests in but will get to them
Chase Carneson i see a notice pop up of a new video by you and i grab my phone
Hahaha thank you for the continued support.
From the beginning of the song I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. His voice doesn't work at all for the lower pitched bridge part though.
Yeah pretty good huh? Agreed on the lower parts.
I’d like to suggest some Dillinger Escape Plan with “When I Lost My Bet” or “Prancer” and Polyphia “OD” or “Nasty”
That's a fantastic idea. I haven't hear them forever so there should be at least some stuff out that's new to me.
Well, I'm not going to start a career in music production, but if I were, your videos would be a good place to learn how. You should put up some tutorials.
Hey, now that's not a bad idea. Glad I can provide a different perspective on the reactions!
If you dont know them and want some fun ambient prog then check out Uneven Structure - frost/hail
Don't think I know them. That's a great plan.
Chase Carneson it’s super cool atmospheric djenty prog-ish metal, but most of their albums are either ment to be played as one long continuous song or as different flowing acts. Frost/hail are from the 1st album and it’s awesome!!
Triosphere/Breathless/track please.Prog metal/rock band from norway.
The song isn't for me, but I'm not into these new emo-prog rock stuff. It's all too samsie and generic for me, but your reactions and the way you break down the technical side and process the thought processes into aspects of a song is so interesting to me. I enjoy looking forward to your future reactions 👍
You know what, that actually means the world. Thank you for this, and the continued support.
@@ChaseCarneson You're most welcome and thank you. Just keep make sure you keep up with the Band-Maid stuff ;-)
From my dreadfully advanced age, I see this band as VERY young. Let's give them some room to run and acquire some nicks and dings, a little maturity. They need a lot of LIVE work, with audience interaction. They need to get "dirty".
He is a bit too poppy for me. They need some screaming.
How about "Make Them Suffer - Erase Me (Official Music Video)"?
Funny you mention that. It's actually coming out soon.
