This video compares Shabani of Higashiyama Zoo, famous for handsome gorillas, and Momotaro of Kyoto City Zoo.
There are other silverback gorillas in Japan, but this time the comparison is only between these two.
Shabani is a wild and emotional gorilla, while Momotaro is less emotional and more gentle.
But both gorillas are leaders of their herds and watch over their families as fathers.
They both have their own unique characteristics, and it's hard to choose between them, isn’t it?

Momotaro is simply divine. He is regal and majestic in every way. He is truly a magnificent silverback. My synopsis analysis is dissected into different fragments. Based on my observation I think Momotaro is a highly intelligent gorilla. He is an enigma and in a league of his own. He is like the crown prince of the gorilla's world. He is just extra-ordinarily handsome, and the way he moves and sits down leaves you to the imagination. I have followed him throughout the birth of his youngest offspring and I tell you what, he is impressive. He knows how to be patient, and very understanding towards his wife Genki. Momo is only 21 years old and for a father, he is not doing too bad considering he grew up without a silverback to look up to. I personally think that we human beings should just enjoy both Momo and Sabani because they are both gorgeous in their own way. I love them both and somehow, I can't fathom comparing those amazing animals. I simply love them both. In fact, I love all the gorillas and I thank God for giving us the opportunity to enjoy and cherish these beautiful animals,

Momotoro the best father? You need to use your cognitive skills instead of your emotions. Shabani do the same thing, looking at his family’s and observing every thing besides he raised his rejected daughter, grooming her and protecting her to this day, plus he exercises his troop, walks in tightropes and it’s not a bully like Momotaro.
Let's see...BOTH for different reasons. Shebani is a big kid, so playful with his family, and he is goofy as heck, AND he loves to love on his older woman, alot! Momotaro is gentle and calm, unless you try to take his food AND he is very protective to his one and only Genki...Example, when the earthquake hit and he protected Genki and the baby, that was remarkable . MoMo had a hard life with no dad to teach him how to be a Silverback and Shebani had a wonderful childhood with two great parents. I can't choose, I just know that I am borderline obsessed with both of these families and I watch them a lot...It's a guanteneed happiness I get every day. Thank you Japan for sharing you gorilla families with us. And please to all the animal lovers out there, please donate to the zoo's of you can, especially Kyoto zoo they and there city are suffering financially and it's a possibility that they could close...That would be a travesty, let alone a monumental upset for all the animals . Well said Nina west. I have asked about donating but not sure how. I don't know why people give negative comments on Shabani. I looked at a lot of videos on both over the years. They have their own personality, just like humans. They are good examples for their children. Keep Safe everyone

Nina West, GREAT comment! Have you ever watched the Gorilla family in Taipei zoo? The Female Tayari? She is a younger female and absolutely smitten with Silverback D'Jeeco! It is hysterical! Tayari follows him and loves to touch and even HUGS on him. She loves to play too. I think Shabani would LOVE to have a female who loves to play and hug, touch and be near him. Shabani always tries to seek out affection from the females and half the time Nene looks like she wants to bitch-slap him. ;-) I think Shabani and Tayari would be in heaven together. Momotaro may run and hide from her because he is not use to such aggression of affection, but may learn to love some hugs and ego boosting. Sad they don't have a dating site to choose a mate! ;-)
Like you, i cant choose. They are both amazing Dad's and Silverback studs! Momo is doing great for not having a Dad to learn from and a normal family with more females to mate and be with. But, they are wonderful and impossible to choose! Be safe! Check out Tayari and D'Jeeco if you haven't already. She is a trip!

Momotaro is a class on his own... Many times I feel the family is different than all other gorillas. Every one of them is so awesome, always... Momo, Gentaro, mama Genki and little chubby kintaro.... One cuter that the other... Love them all and can't stop watching them... Can't count the number of hours the family brought a smile on my face On these uncertain times, SPECIALLY KINTARO, who is a bundle of joy. ❤️❤️❤️

Great comment! Yeah, Kintaro now has a little "Buddha-Belly" now and loves slapping his Tubby-Tummy! Both families are wonderful. Hard to choose a favorite. Both Silverbacks have great positive behaviors and we must remember that Momotaro never had a Daddy to learn from where Shabani did.I think Momotaro is doing a great job for no role model as a little guy. I WISH Momo had another Female as other families because I would like to see him get more affection and attention or even some "play time" with a female. Like Tayari from Taipei zoo, she loves to hug and be near Silverback, D'Jeeco. She is smitten with him and it's hysterical. Shabani is very playful and affectionate and playful. Shabani ( just my opinion ) would LOVE to have a young female showing him so much affection because he always tries to get his females to play or walks by them and touches them. It would be fun seeing him getting stalked. He would love it. Momotaro, well, he may be very confused and run and hide from Tayari. But, he may grow to love such affection. Sad because of Genki's past and her sensitive nature they can't allow another female in this family because of a risk of her getting jealous and depressed. But, they seem to be content. I started watching "Prague Zoo" after seeing a video of my Beloved Gorilla Boy Tatu playing on a tree branch wearing a white hat. He was just like a Child! From that sweet Gorilla Boy, Sadly, he died. He loved the ropes and often wrapped them around his neck. One morning before the family woke, he must have been playing and by accident hung himself. See how he loved to love and hug his baby brother, Kiburi? He was a rare and beautiful Gorilla boy that I miss so much. BUT, I know God has a special paradise for these beautiful souls and now my Sweet Tatu is in Paradise with other Gorillas and Animals who left us too soon. He plays and giggles all day with them and the Angels sing them to sleep at night. ;-) Just felt the need to share. I often think, watch and miss him so much.
I started watching more and more families and love them all. Its hard to keep up with all the videos and all the families. They bring me such joy especially during hard times. My escape and happiness while having coffee. ;-)
I live near Philadelphia Zoo. Last year bought a year pass, then COVID HIT! (just my luck) looking forward to visiting my Motuba family in PA Zoo soon. Just got my COVID vaccines, so, hoping to get there soon.

@@citizenbeeswax7985 , I agree with you. I wish Genki was more affectionate and kinder to Momotaro. Sadly. all he knows is the relationship he has with Genki instead of having a few Females with different personalities to see maybe a more playful and affectionate female so he understands that he can have a different relationship with a more affectionate mate.
They matched Genki with Momotaro because he is "Biju" son. Genki was very attracted to Biju. ( Biju died so Momotaro had no male to learn from just his Mom ) When Momotaro's Mom, Momoko was added to this group, Genki lost her status and place with Biju. Thats when she got depressed. Biju favored Momoko and Genki got very sad and stopped eating and self mutilated by biting off her finger. So, since Genki was so in love with Biju, and Momotaro looked so much like his dad, when Momotaro was 10, they put him with Genki to mate.But, they wwont put any other females in this family because its a good chance Genki will get jealous and withdraw and spiral down into depression and self mutilation again and she has her kids to still care for. They wont take a chance to stress her again.
I did hear when Gentaro was a baby, they moved this family to a new enclosure and Momotaro didn't take the change well at all and became very stressed and angry. He took out his fear and frustration on Genki and baby Gentaro until he calmed down and was at ease in a new home. Maybe those situations stuck with Genki and she remembers his anger and still keeps a safe difference. ? I don't know. Genki is a stressed and cautious female who seems very nervous. I have heard many gorillas, especially Silverbacks do NOT take to any changes in their surrounding well and get depressed and angry at times.
It would be cool if they had language and could share their feelings with us to explain certain behaviors, fears and situations.We don't so, all we can do is watch and hope for the best. Genki is old. She may sadly pass and I think then hey will put Momotaro with new females. I did hear that at times Genki gets upset when Momotaro doesn't sit with her and vocalizes ( her way of begging him ) so he doesnt leave. Who knows? We dont see and know a lot that goes on behind the scenes that the keepers know. Maybe she does show more affection inside away from public? But, I agree with your reply. Thanks.be safe!

In raising children, Shabani has no equal. This guy loves his kids very, very much and is incredibly gentle with them. Every video with him is saturated with great love.
I like Shabi’s face and build and he’s such a great showman! But when Momo rushed to protect Genki and Baby Kintaro and usher them to safety when the earthquake happened,that made him a hero to me! Honorable mention to Oumbi when he stares at Lope! He has the best facial expression!

Me encanta Momotaro pero he conocido la historia de Sabani acogio a Anny q era huerf as na por 10 anos q su manada la absndono y sus cuidadores la tuvieron un ano la acogio como hija y la cuida de manera especial una gran experiencia para q los humanos aprendamos de los animales dc on casi personas. MOMOTARO ha sido la bendicion de Genki q 10 anos sin procrear y le dio esos bellos hijos bellas familias

They are both wonderful and powerful silverbacks, but Momotaro and his family have a piece of my heart. I will say Shabani is luckier than Momotaro, in that he gets to see the sky and feel grass under his feet. I do wish Momotaro was not in a large cage.

It's got to be momotara for me as well, he wanted to get close to Kintaro when he wa very little but Genki was rightly very protective of her baby. Momataro respected Genki totally & was very patient. He didn't mind Gentaro tormenting him he showed patience again. He now plays with the little one as much as possible but always respecting Genki. His 2 boys have started to follow him about a lot now & copy him more & more. They've got a fantastic faith to look up to & the whole family seem to be very happy.
Momo...he's our man! I love how intelligent his eyes are and his strong gentle demeanor. I think Kintaro will grow up like Momo and Gentaro is more like Genki.

I simply cannot choose. Each Silverback has his own personality and handles situations differently. Momotaro had to learn about being a mate & dad on his own since he had no role model growing up. I do love to watch him swing from the highest reaches of the roof when he's gathering food. What power and strength! Shabani is a natural with his offspring - and he is a fine looking Silverback! They both have older mates - Genki at 35 yrs and Nene at 48 yrs.

Easy choice, hands down Momotaro is my favorite. He is the most handsome gorilla of all I have seen. & he has a gentle, caring nature. Very patient. Serious about his position as silverback. Dutiful husband & father. He had a difficult start in life, but he is still working on overcoming that. He is a wonderful silverback! Viva Momotaro!
I've seen so many videos of Momotaro biting his wife and dragging baby Kintaro. They all act scared of him. I don't see how people can say he is gentle or a good silverback.

As the disciplinarian of the troop, Momotaro rarely, if ever, resorts to physical punishment. I have not seen him bite Genki nor drag Kintaro.
Yes, the lower rank troop members move away when he walks in their direction; this is out of respect, not fear. The silverback sits, stands, lies down, walks, or climbs wherever he wants. That is his right as the silverback.
The job of the silverback is to lead the troop, guard & protect, impose & maintain order, discipline errant members, & socialize the youngsters. Momotaro is an excellent silverback.
@@bythebayou5351 Momotaro family are miserable and have been neglected of a good enclosure to live in. Their are many things off about them and most likely due to not only captivity but also the conditions they’re subjected to live in. That zoo should be closed. If most people really cared about this family, they would help shut this zoo down instead of making scenarios out of them(in the comments) as if they were human.

He has a loving, funny, grab you and hug you personality, plus he is the most handsome lovable Gorilla kind in the world hands down.👊💜 The way he mothered Annie when Ai rejected her and defended her from Nene, was incomparable! Momotaro is my favourite. Affectionate towards his family. Lovely natured sons come from lovely natured parents.
They are both beautiful and amazing animals! For sure Shabani is the lucky one because he lives in a quite nice enclosure!
Momotaro! Genki is the sweetest looking wife, mother and so intelligent. She knows how to approach Momotaro. If Kintaro, as a baby, got to close to his dad, Genki would look away almost pretending to not notice him and casually scoop up her boy. Hilarious to watch! He’s very gental with his new borns.

Momotaro es precioso,muy discreto y respetuoso. Es buen esposo y padre y actúa fuerte en caso necesario. Es un especimen muy elegante.
Both have their attractions. Shabani is more outgoing and can dance like a pro, but Momotaro is a totally different guy. Even growing up without a dad, losing his dad, Biju, Momotaro has turned into a very attentive father. Definitely Momotaro, though Shabani runs a close 2nd. Momo might be quieter, but he really rocks his hemp blankets. I really wish that Momo had a bigger enclosure and could have more mates. He deserves so much more!

Shabani. How could you not? He's got a great, playful personality. He's mischievous and entertaining. He always plays with his kids and he's such a magnificent physical specimen too.
Thought I was only one who thought so. Momo can be a jerk if he sees Genki or his sons eating something he feels belongs to him. But I feel everyone says Momo because that family pops up in YT feed more than Shabani.

I ask all people try to send a littleoney too Kyoto zoo they are in danger of having too close,a small zoo like Thiers needs more support we don't want that to happen it would mean desperation and a break up of the momotaro family for sure. We can surely help this zoo,and give genki momo and the boys a fighting chance. Everything des to be against them. The storms in earthquake and funds have already been cut by the govt. It is looking very bad for genki and her family

It's obvious from watching both families that Shabani is the better father, mate and silverback overall. He has a beautiful personality. Momo comes across as troubled and reserved but he is trying and hopefully learning to be better. I 100% agree with comments about their different environments affecting them. My wish is that Kyoto Zoo find the money to improve and grow the gorilla environment. Beautiful animals, they all deserve better ❤️❤️❤️
Even if you tripled the size of his enclosure, Momotaro would still not be interested in his sons or his wife. Handsome Momotaro eats, observes, attacks & sleeps.

Momotaro, of course. I'm probably being partial because I have watched Momotaro's son's grow-up and I love each family member. Genki, Gentaro, and Kintaro.....are all great and I have seen several video's of them over the years. Shebani looks to be a great looking gorilla and I'll have to see more video's of him and his family as well.

Momotaro has a much smaller environment with less to interact with so for that alone I'm not able to compare. Can't help but feel he would blossom with more space and troop. I think they are both charismatic, handsome, and intelligent fellows.

Hard choice. I love the gentle, graceful but firm Momotaro But it is no contest when it comes to chest drumming and scaring visitors. No one does it better than Shabini. He also loves to play with his kids and not just protect them. Of course Shabini has more wives and a much bigger group which keeps him very active.

I love both families but for different reasons. Shabani has a sense of mischief, a twinkle in his eye, and is very playful. He likes to chase and be chased and loves to show off. Momo is very laid back and more serious. His playstyle is less chase and more wrestle. He takes his job of silverback very seriously.

Все сильвербэки заботливые и опекающие отцы, но Шабани - это идеал. Я никогда не видела настолько любящего отца и мужа. Он исключительный парень, когда дело касается его детей. Он невероятно нежный и ласковый. Дети берут еду у него изо рта, дергают за чуб, щипают его, бросаются травой и сеном, а он всегда рад поиграть с ними! Он всегда уделяет им внимание, всегда, если дети хотят играть, и не важно, чем Шабани был занят до этого. Он может спать или есть, но сразу начнет игру, если дети этого хотят. Он любит ловить своих малышей и обнимать, гладить долгое время - сколько в нем нежности! Он улыбается, а его глаза светятся.
Влюбилась в него окончательно после рождения Анни.
Когда от крошки Анни отказалась мама, мальчишка-хулиган Шабани полностью взял над ней опеку. Он часами сидел возле дверцы, ведущей в детскую комнату, где смотрители зоопарка заботились о малышке. Заглядывал в дверцу, приводил с собой старшего сына и стерег свою дочь сутками. Он осторожно играл с ней, нежничал и всюду сопровождал с того момента, когда она вернулась в семью: робкая и испуганная. Как она убегала от Шабани, держа в руках свое одеяльце.
Шабани моментально, в секунду прибегал Анни на помощь, стоило ей пискнуть, и она могла спрятаться на его спине. Анни до сих пор его маленькая принцесса и очень многое себе позволяет, она всегда права, что бы не натворила ХD Она может поссориться с кем-то, не боясь наказания. Может быть невероятно смелой и наглой, потому что знает: папа всегда защитит ее, не важно, что она натворит. Он до сих пор мчится ей на помощь, даже если зачинщицей является Анни. Помню, как Анни предрекали грустную судьбу аутсайдера и омеги в семье, из-за ее положения в глубоком детстве, но посмотри на нее сейчас! Эта смелая и нахальная девчонка на вершине!
Большая часть видео с Шабани - это его игры с детьми или нежности с семейной группой, делая массаж и обнимаясь. На самом деле он просто большой ребенок, сколько бы ему не было лет. Он учил Киемасу своим фишкам, показывая, как правильно бить в грудь, а еще крутить веревку в зубах, предлагая повторить. Забавно, что вообще все в семье (кроме Нене) переняли его причуды. Его не просто так называют идеалом отца и массово полюбили за его сверхъестественную нежность. Он всегда хватает детей в охапку, закрывая собой, если пугается громкого звука.
Благодаря характеру Шабани его дети не боятся дождя и грозы, и наверное, это единственная семья, которая любит дождь и купается под ним.
Шабани делает настоящие шоу! Его дикие танцы - это просто нечто невероятное. Лучший барабанщик.
Если он хочет какую-то еду, ему достаточно протянуть руку и с ним сразу же поделятся (Нена и Аи делятся с ними. Детей это не касается). Его не боятся, когда дело касается еды (в зоопарках, когда папа ест, к нему никто не подходит и не берет его еду) но его уважают и отдают ему половину того, что он хочет, ему не нужно отнимать. Он любит садиться в дверном проходе и нежно касаться каждого члена семьи, когда они заходят в помещение или выходят. Он держится с Аи за руки и нежно чешет ее. Строит гнезда и приводит туда детей, чтобы они полежали с ним... а затем они ломают его гнездо ХD Он спасал птичек из вольера и маленьких лягушат. Он очень опекающий и всегда защищает семью. Он вырастил сына достойным приемником, а дочь - уверенной в себе. И он НИКОГДА не наказывал никого из своей семьи! Он только догоняет и держит у земли (такое происходит, только если Анни и Нена опять поссорятся) но не кусает. Большой папочка всегда задает трепку виноватым, прижимая к земле и кусая их за спину, показательно размахивая руками, но Шабани только хватает руками и сразу же отпускает. В его семье царит гармония. Похожий характер я наблюдала только у Матади, но и он менее тактильный, хотя до безумия любит дочек. Один раз Шабани укусил Нене за руку и откинул в сторону, когда она напала на малышку Анни и ударила о стену, но как только Шабани убедился, что с его дочерью все в порядке, он нашел Нене и извинялся перед ней, взяв ее за ладонь и гладил по раненному плечу. Иногда люди пишут, что он был жесток в молодости, но эй, это совсем не так! Шабани был шаловливым и задиристым мальчишкой, он был очень молод, в нем до сих пор очень много энергии, сейчас он спокойнее, потому что уже солидный дядька лет тридцати по нашим меркам и его территория стала больше - ее нужно охранять. Когда они только переехали в новый корпус, бедняга похудел и какие-то дни был очень настороженным, глаз не спуская с семьи и проверяя каждый новый угол по сотню раз. Да, он любил толкать свои жен и прыгать через них, чтобы они затем с возмущенным криком погнались за ним и поиграли таким образом в догонялки, но так делает большинство молодых самцов! Это ритуал дурашливой игры, пусть он и кажется грубым. Хотя для Нене это действительно было утомительно из-за возраста и ее статуса доминантной самки, но она была его любимой женой, а у этого есть свои недостатки, хах. По позиции тела, мимики и движениям можно различить, когда горилла играет, а когда - угрожает. Если Шабани закусил губу и хитро зыркает глазами - нужно бежать! Его семья очень спортивная и мускулистая по сравнению с другими, он никогда не давал им скучать в маленьком вольере из старой жизни, выдумывая разные игры и постоянно занимаясь детьми. Он из мальчишки стал мужчиной за очень короткий срок, когда у него появились дети.
Да уж, я очень люблю этого парня. Но они все прекрасны и уникальны по-своему. Гориллы - невероятные существа. Они очень умные и нежные, гораздо лучше людей. Момотаро учится быть хорошим и ласковым отцом, не смотря на отсутствие примера в собственном детстве и что он мог ранее толкнуть своих мальчиков или испугать резким движением. Он робкий, но очень яростно защищает свою семью и стремится быть к ним ближе. Стоит только вспомнить, как он бросился спасать их во время землетрясения. Кинтаро привнес в эту семью очень хорошее изменение своим рождением, приятно видеть, как они становятся более сплоченными. Хаоко единственный умеет держать младенцев на руках, и Момоко (кстати, это мать Момотаро) оставляют ему малышей под присмотр, а еще он любит "воровать" детей, убегая с ними от усталой Момоко, чтобы привлечь ее внимание. Матади самый молодой, но он смог объединить свою новую семью и даже сонный играл с дочками, затем целуя их в нос. Бауви отличный и спокойный лидер, как и полагается старшему брату (Шабани младший, Хаоко средний, а Бауви старший) выгуливающий ораву детей под свои присмотром. Оумби полон невероятного терпения, ведь его сыновья - это Лопе и Шувай. Джекко очень-очень игривый и даже позволяет жене Таяри слишком многое, вроде как не поделится веткой или использовать себя в качестве трамплина. Все семьи заслуживают любви и уважения, ведь гориллы прекрасны.

Shabani has already been voted the most handsome silverback by ppl around the world, and if you have been watching Shabani with his kid’s you’d know it was him who sat daily with little Kiyo his son watching his little princess Annie being looked after by the keeper bc her mother AI had no milk and no interest in the baby, Annie was gradually being introduced back into her family’s care and it was Shabani who protected her from Nene’s unprovoked attacks, he was a natural loving caring father who turned out to be Annie’s main care giver he’d play with both kid’s and showed Kiyo how to be more gentle when playing with Annie. Shabani wins hands down 👏🏼

That was in 2015 or so. A while ago. People didn’t know Momotaro like they do now. Shabani is wonderful but Momotaro is better looking. Just look at this comment section.
Shabani for me. He is a perfectly formed Gorilla and is a great father. I love that he understands what will make the crowd cheer. His intelligence level seems high. He is protective of his family and if disputes arise, he will rush to the scene putting his large body between those arguing, protecting the little ones. His stare alone seems to defuse just about any situation.

I am a Momotaro fan for sure! In watching a couple of videos of Shabani and his family, it did make me think that Gentaro (Momotaro's oldest boy) and Annie (Shabani's lovely daughter) might make a great pair - he is so sweet and she seems ready for a new adventure...

He is like a big energetic child, but very, very gentle. I've never seen SO MUCH love and tenderness in a gorilla!
When he affectionately hugs and kisses his baby Annie, he tickles her belly and they both laugh. He always took great care of Annie, replaced her mother and raised her in great love. She is still his little princess.
Shabani devotes an incredible amount of time to his children, he is ready to play with them whenever they want and never refuses! Even if he wants to sleep or is busy with something. He just comes up to hug, tickle, and kiss someone in his family.
He never punished his children, did not growl or spank them, not once. On the contrary, they eat his food, take it from his hands and sleep in his nests. Shabani is very tactile and loves touch, a lot of tenderness. True, when he plays, it turns into a typhoon! HD If the kids are playing rough in his eyes, he gently intervenes. He pays enough attention to everyone: when he played wrestling with Kiymasa, Annie became jealous and pulled his hand and Shabani immediately began to tickle her stomach. The children followed him as if tied. I remember how during the rain the family was on the street, and Shabani took everyone to the shelter. First he put Annie under the canopy, then he shoved everyone else, and he himself remained in the rain.
And he never needs to prove his strength through physical application. When Kiyomasa is very naughty or trying to dominate, Shabani silently looks at him and the son immediately calms down.
I love them both. They are both such beautiful huge Silverbacks. And both have beautiful family's and are great father's.

Shabani is playful now but when his enclousure was smoller and whitout grass he was agressive with the females like his brother Haoko who meastreat Momontaro mother Momoko in Ueno. Momontaro is calm and gentle. He respect Jenki and love his little son. Indeed he is a good father with his two sons. Momontaro is wonderful and very nice. He is my favourite silverback

Momo takes my breath away with his majestic body!! Not many compare with his physic! Love his gorgeous smooth skin on his face too! Gentle, patient,kind, suave and at times very graceful on those beams! Love his protector mode always on the lookout for his family 💖. He can't be beat in my book! Shabani is the funny guy! His videos are all about having fun in life and showing all his quirkiness, which he passes down to his kids! Fun loving Gorilla 🤩

I love Ginki, Kintaro, & Gentaro! Momotaro rarely participates with his family, especially his sons. He has been described as a loaner, quiet, etc.
Shambani is opposite ! He loves to play with his daughter & son. He will run up by them, wanting to start a game similar to "tag." He demonstrates a handsome level of showmanship by drumming or walking on 2 legs across a limb, or something similar.! Ginki & Shambani would make perfect parents!

So if I remember correctly, Shabani is Haoko's brother, and Haoko is now Momoko's (Momotaro's mother) mate... so that makes Shabani Momotaro's adopted uncle, right? Heh, cute little family tree :)
I can't say I favor one over the other though. Both are great dads with cute quirks and who serve their purpose in their own ways. Momotaro is held back a bit by the fact he never had a father (highly unnatural in the wild), but Gentaro and Kintaro seem to inspire him to take up the role of a guardian anyway. Although, he is a bit scarier than Shabani when he's angry.
But in terms of looks... Momo is just so sleek, lol. The rate at which my jaw drops whenever I see him is at least 4x that of Shabani. And how he acessorizes? Burlap never looked so chic!

They are both very handsome gorillas but MOMO is kind, considerate and loving to his family. I don't like to choose really but MOMO for me. 👍🇬🇧
They each have their own adorable personality. Momo is shy and very much an introvert while Shabani is fun loving and enjoy entertaining and playing with his kids. But they both are exceptional troop leaders. I enjoy watching them BOTH.
I haven't seen him do it lately, but Momo used to run his wife and kids (the baby, too) away from food so that he could get it. That's something that annoyed me about Momo. However, I never saw Shabani do anything remotely similar to that.
Lastly, I remember how Shabani was a doting dad, especially with his little princess Annie when she joined the group. He was very protective, especially when grouchy NeNe tried to attack little Annie. I didn't know Shabani could move so fast.
