When you have a static frontline looting can make the difference between victory and defeat. Especially in those late night battles where logi is logged off.
Ah finally a tutorial on what I love doing in Foxhole. You can right click and submit all to stockpile? O.o I've done so many logi runs to bases, and never knew about that. I actually even put the playback speed to 0.25x in order to pause correctly :P Thank you for doing the calculations in bmats, and production time. I think that will help show just how important it is to keep refurbishing equipment, rather than just letting it go to waste. Also this was a great time lapse of how the frontlines develop during a fight, with builders, infantry, and transportation all working together
Happened to me once, loaded up with my usual 2 or 3 clips and then 10 minutes later I had 20+ rifle clips from looting dead bodies. I am sure the person who came across my body when I died had a nice chuckle at the noob carrying half an armory into battle.
Great video super cool that you added up all the cost. You saved all that gear that would have taken a person to mine, refine, manufacture, then transport all the way to the front lines. I am hoping that one of the future uniforms they add is a scavenger uniform that allows for people to scavenge the battle field better.
Good tutorial and i love the visualisation and calculations! Normally when i play this role i tend to leave a small stock of consumable supplies in boxes such as ammo, bandages, filters and granades. Also when the fight is far from the base i normally bring a truck and park it near the battle to make the travel faster. I then normally being granades which are always needed at the front. Thanks for the video and keep em coming.
One time the supply was so bad at the town I was in that I literally grabbed the dead wardens guns and threw it in the stockpile so we’d atleast have something besides the default pistol then once things settled down from suicide rushing the enemies I ran some actual logi for my team and we managed to hold out
That, sir, is an awsome frontline play display. Doing so much, adding so much value... and solo play, no squad! To bad it's collie side. Well, fighting you is an honour xD
The looting is not only useful for the materials, but also you can tell what happened in an area based on the stuff that’s lying around. Sometimes also helps to mark random stockpiles of 500-1000 bmats if you find them lying somewhere: too heavy to carry on your own, but it’s enough to setup a micro defensive bunker with all the fixings.
Thank you for your service. And for show to us this nice job. I most times, when ai respawn, i go near to front and looting too. And take some items from enemy
I once looted on the frontlines of The Deadlands and went from a pistol and a bandage (if i get shot to stop the bleeding) to a full loadout with an assault rifle, several 7.92 mags, a full gas mask with an extra filter, a one use RPG and a radio backpack. I managed to get all of this in about 7-8 minutes after looting a few bodies. (not to mention i also switched the rifle for a "mounted" LMG with a few mags of 12.7 which i used to suppress the enemies while our tanks and infantry pushed up. Always remember, don't need to use supplies from the base to make a large impact on the battlefield.
Absolutely. But looting the way I do in the video is unfortunately not really a thing anymore. Since the introduction of uniforms a lot of things don't stack anymore which doesn't really make it worth your while picking up all kinds of things from the battlefield. But finding yourself some great gear on the frontline is definitely still possible
@@FreerkHoltes It is disappointing that you can't do stuff like that anymore however i think if there's some downtime on the battlefield or your team has pushed up significantly you could get a small squad to fill a truck with items to take back to your base which could hold some use if logi is being intercepted or you need supplies right in that moment. However all we can really hope for now is that something in the game may change so that this can be usefuly again.
oooh i know what they could add now ! a back pack that let you recycle vehicule Wreck and give you Bmat or Rmat, that could be a interesting feature ^^
that's a good problem to have because it means the players around you scavenge whenever possible imo it's better to just run back to base to resupply, since usually backpacks are left on open/vulnerable areas. If the enemy has killed someone on that spot once, they can do it again. By the time the area is somewhat secured, the backpack would probably already despawn anyway
Started doing this and thought to myself are there tutorials about it? I am dropping looted materials on the ground next to the frontline. Ammo, nades and medical stuff primary. Edit: don't forget to strip naked before running to the frontline. Your weapons and ammo are not in deposit, but on the ground up ahead
That's not including the time it takes to move such supplies to the frontline, plus all the inherent dangers of logistics. The only thing that is better is looting stuff from enemy soldiers.
The worth of a looting haul is determined by what is available at the time. Early war you can only bring back rifles, it starts to add up once you start recovering arty shells, tripod mounted guns and stuff like that. Also not all worth is calculated in bmats/emats/rmats. Bases that have their logi cut off quite often hold out way longer if people actively loot. Not to mention that it can be a good way of obtaining special weapons the enemy has and you don't. (looking at you here ISG)
Yeah, unfortunately with the update that gave us unifroms the stacking of a lot of supplies in uniforms got nerfed. So these days frontline looting would be done for launchers and other expensive gear. No point in hauling stacks of 3 rifle ammo
i am a newb, a quick question tho obviously i may not have good insight, but isnt it better to keep the loot close to the players engaged rather than running it back to the stock pile?
As with everything in Foxhole; it depends on the circumstances. These days however you cannot loot as much as you could when I made the video. So these days I try to only bring back the "expensive" things, like rpg tubes, mortar tubes, tripods and tripod weapons for instance. Things like rifles and smg's will probably be picked up by returning infantry anyway
Frontline looting got a lot harder unfortunately with the arrival of the different uniforms. All the more reason to value those who are willing to commit to it. I salute you sir!
Nope, doing logi for an hour will yield way more. But doing this means there is less logi needed because all these things won't be disappearing on the battlefields.
I have never played Foxholes before, and because i'm now beginning to see its complexity and how my small minded brain wouldn't be able to handle the all the multitasking, I'll probably never play it, beside my internet is shit. Looks fun though.
Yeah looting enemy armoured vehicles is always great :). But wait till you get a hold of a lootbox (rebuild an enemy storage depot), that's some real looting right there
It really depends on what you loot, but truth be told, with the new uniforms it's even less worth it. Could still be worth picking up things like the ISG, rpg's, tank shells etc.
I love the graphic on the left showing off how much of the supplies you recovered. Nice touch! 👍
It was hell to keep track of and work into the video, but good to hear it was worth it :D

I really wish they'd introduce some kind of transport vehicle for scavengers to make their lives easier.
