At most shoots, including this one, you are not allowed to range it if you are competing! I was just practicing so I let the head of the shoot know that I was a no score, shooting for practice. Im glad you asked! 😊
There Iowa, dont quote me on this, but ASA scoring rings, so 5/8/10/12 middle ibo is still a 10, upper scoring ring is 10 unless you call upper, then its a 12.

It just happens naturally for us. I think it’s because we are trying to get our eye over the arrow.
