I have to thank you for this clip. I viewed it a week ago and thought to myself, “why not”. I have now played 2 rounds adapting you new address position with the driver and I must report that this technique works! Thanks you. Have you a tip for making good ball contact with the irons (I.e..ball then turf). Thanks again.
Great lesson. His feet are actually better positioned as well. His right foot is turned back a little where it was square before and it seems like front foot is turned out slightly more than before, all in addition to the wider more athletic stance. That’s one of the first things my coach helped me with when fixing my driver setup! Great job fellas!
Great instructions 1- ball up off the heel was the game changer 2) starting club head back was the head start/ cheating hack that squared the golfer up!
I tried this a few months ago from a different youtube teacher and I hooked the ball off the planet .... Just didnt work for me , but my miss is a pull hook, I think I get to closed in my stance with this setup and this made me make my right hand turn over faster to keep me from pushing it right .
Have been doing this for the last couple of months. It is strange at first a took a bit to get the ball position and tee height right. Game changing in terms if strike and distance. Have easily gained 20 to 30 yards on average. My biggest drives might be 250 before but now closer to 280 and plenty every round in the 260 to 270 range. Basically, i tee up the ball and then just set up like an i would with an iron with my club on the ground 5 inches behind the ball. When i swing i dont look at the ball, i focus on the low point (where the ball would be if i were hitting an iron) and then just swing my swing - the driver collects the ball on the upswing. Also has helped dramatiallcy stop the 2 way miss. I aim down the right and it goes straight or the miss is 99% to the left - keep the ball in play more often
What’s missing here is the golfer is addressing the ball with his left shoulder waaaaay too far ‘away’ from the ball, causing his shoulders to be wayyy open at address and impact. It’s like his right arm is taking over when addressing the ball, like he’s using his right as the reference to the ball for the rest of his setup. Remember the old days when the pro would push his left shoulder towards the ball and then drop his driver head behind the ball? Thats what this guy has to start doing. The really cool result of this move is by closing his shoulders at address he is actually making it easier to get to a good position at the Top because he has shortened the needed backswing because he essentially started rotating 5-10 degrees by closing his shoulders at address. He doesn’t have to turn as much to get to the top, or return as much to get back to impact. As more Norman used to say, by grounding the club a foot behind the ball you are already starting your back swing. You won’t believe the difference this can make!
I agree keeping the driver back behind the ball keeps your shoulders more square , if you move the drive up to the ball your shoulders will open up,, I do the same set up .....
Moe Norman signature all over this hack. Great take none the less on one aspect of the game that destroys confidence and drives golfers away over time.

Can we have an online petition to stop RUclipsrs saying “it’s like cheating “ in the title 😂
Ok deal 👍🏻
And ban the word “hack”
@@meandmygolf. Fair play chaps 👍
@@matthewdale956 and can we start wearing matching apparel.
Totally agree. Makes me want to throw my phone out the window🤬
Once again, straight to the point, no waffle, short and sweet plus immediate improvement.

Short and sweet and straight to the point 👏👏
Yes something we wanted to share. So simple but really powerful!
Do you set club face square to the target when it is 6” behind the ball, or do you set the face square and then move it back 6 inches?
Thanks!

Thanks Shane. Yes his whole stance changed and was way more athletic. Glad you enjoyed it.

I've been using the driver back 4-6 inches for awhile. Works great.
great stuff

This is excellent advice guys. Thanks.
Makes so much sense
Snow on the ground now but I will definitely implement this technique

Great summary - super effective lesson!
Moving the club back is tasty tip.
Great lesson. 🙌🏻

I started doing this a week ago and it’s like a miracle it does go higher and a bit farther but it goes straight as straight
Been doing this for the last few months works great
It’s such a great thing to do. Glad it’s helping
I'm going to try this tomorrow and really hope I get same results as your student 👍
Let us know how it goes Paul
Best ball position vs. Driver I have seen thus far.
Love this. Amazing! I did this a year ago. I hit it 20 yards farther!
So how hi to you tee the ball?
Gonna have to give this a go tomorrow. Will most likely still sky the balls.
Let us know how it goes Marv!
Moe Norman used to start his driver way behind the ball. I've been doing it ever since.
100% game changer tip for driver.
Great to hear!!
Great tip...thanks
Thanks!
Good stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it
I would think if he had a much narrower stance, he could get more turn.
I watched Freddie Couples hitting driver and the ball is pretty much just left of center maybe a couple inches.
Well done guys 😊
Thanks Roy. Hope you are well?
This really made a difference in my shot !
Great to hear!!
I have a 'halfy gilmore' shot I can use it hit it 30 yards further
Those first two shots after the corrections £££
Amid did great! Hope you enjoyed it.
Shane Lowry has a narrow stance when hitting driver, as well do many others.
definitely more than one way to do things in this game. It's just about finding what works for you.

MOE NORMAN ..simple
Exactly
This is similar to what moe norman did. Kept him swinging through the ball instead of at the ball.
1 second in - "This simple driving setup hack.."
Proceeds to use 4 alignment sticks and a ball box. 😂😂
But nah, good tip tbf!
😂😂😂
You should probably start with fixing his grip, I would have thought that was obvious.
Quick Fix. Imagine a little speed training., 250+ carry.
Doesn't say anything about how is weight should be distributed .I believe weight should be on his back foot
Half ppl problems at alignment and grip
I think an easier fix is to simply square your shoulders to your target.
There's no such thing as simple in golf
I think there is “Simple” but not always “Easy”.
👏👏💪👍
The man is quite short so his driver should be shortened so that he can aim the ball upwards
Great video! 👍🏻🏌🏻♂️
Moe Norman always put his club way back of the ball. He just could not explain it as well as you!
It's not a hack
How can you say 15 yards more when nobody hits at the same every time lol
189 to 205 = +15 yds. 👍🏻
@ lol it doesn’t make any sense… To say you hit it 15 yards further lol
His hands and arms are wayyyyy tooo farrrrr from his body!!!!!!
Oui oui oui je fais ça depuis 6 mois fantastique je met la tete au milieu du stance simplement
