I recently spoke to a Ham Radio operator (Amateur Radio) in YAP. He had a strong signal here in the Midwest, USA. Looks like a beautiful island. Would love to visit someday!
I was stationed on Yap with the Coast Guard, 1966-1967...I hardly recognize the place from this film...there were no paved roads then, only service and maintenance vehicles, the village, Colonia was a general store and of course, the Blue Lagoon Bar... all in all a good tour...
I visited Yap on an Air Force C-130 resupply flight in 1977, and spent several hours on the ground exploring. In fact we we servicing the CG station there. I would personally enjoyed tour there, as I am a WW2 buff. I agree, the place is unrecognizable now.
#WasThere1974 I was working for SMITHCO HOTEL and Restaurant Supplies from Guam to start all school cafeteria cooking equipment. Then we flew to Ulithi Atoll some 90 miles away from Yap lovely place. One Thing that looks very #AWESOME was that #LAVALAVA OUTFIT from those women wearing it. 💖👌👍💪😍😎🥥🌴🌴🥥💋💋😘🌟🔆🐟🐠💝
