All the parts look just like the atlas. I dampened the shocks with some vasoline. A thin coat really made a difference on my atlas, no more bouncy bounce.!!! Great review RC Girl!!!!🤘🤘🤘
Cool review! I just ordered one last night on a whim. The price definitely made that impulse buy easier. Gonna try the upgraded shocks. I'll also need a small Mercedes Benz emblem for the front :D
After watching this video I bought one and it came yesterday , I ran it all day and I have to say it is fantastic it’s far better then stock scx-24 out the box , it climbs so well has very smooth slow crawl, it did not tip forward or backward once on my indoor course but it could do with axle extensions as it rolls over quite easy , the tires are soft and nice and grippy, it’s well worth the money so guys and girls go buy one , great video , stay safe rcg...
Great review! Keep up the great content! I just picked up my own with their upgraded oil filled shocks as well. Can’t wait to get mine going and out on the rocks!
Purchased one based to this review. Picked the midnight blue V2 version with 2-speed gear that makes it fun to have option to speed up, as well crawl very slowly. Have already changed little bit before first battery was empty. 1) I removed the cushions inside tires, makes the tires depressurized better, offers stronger grip and dampens the impacts. 2) Have not yet injected any vaseline to shocks, but I am considering should I use a a764 dampening grease instead, but I think it would get too sticky for all kind dirty that not smart idea, but don't know how much vaseline helps, before you want to buy a oil filled shocks? The tires trick did a lot already. I don't like unrealistic huge and out of dimensions wheels on RC, especially when they are much much wider than the body. AFAIK the CR18P is based to Mercedes-Benz Unimog (Arnold Schwarzenegger owned version? Or the Danish millionare owned version he sold in auction?) and want to keep its style and dimensions. 3) I detached the gasoline canisters and did base coat now to them (drying) and going to paint them orange (I just happened today be carrying some red jerry canisters around, so going to make same color) for better visibility. 4) I already designed the new remote controller wheel to be better used with thumb in one hand, need to wait to get to front of 3D printer do get it out. Now just put a rubber circle piece cut from bicycle inner tube to have better grip, as thumb is slipping from it. Possibility is to add a small piece between wheel and rubber to have a "bump" to turn better. But modeled lever arm similar idea as the throttle trigger is, will be much better. 5) Going to add a trailer hook, and model a trailer for it. Need to purchase additional tires to that. Still not sure do I want to make a pair or two pair trailer with swivel axel. Idea is to make it carry a additional weight, like extra battery that going to be wired to main battery. One idea for the trailer is to add the way to pull a RC boat and drop it on the shore. 6) The battery is little annoying to open/close as getting finger to open hatch doesn't fit easily between it and back-up wheel. That is why I am going to solder the charger port off and install a 3-wire magnetic connector to side of the box. One's that are sold for the smartphones. This way I can just plug any charger on the box easily for charging. And use this to part 5, where I can pull that trailer battery wire magnetically connected to it. And if trailer drops off, the battery wire will as well pull off because magnetic connection! 7) I have additional ideas for the remote controller to see what could be done with it. But what really want to do is to get a front installed pull wire motor inside the canopy. But adding extra stuff to trailer would be nice. Or some circling yellow warning light on the roof. And of course for night crawling, a better all around lighting, add diffusion to existing LED's so there isn't harsh shadows from cover grills etc. 8) The underbody is exposing all the motors, receiver ports etc to elements, I want to create some kind shield plate to deny most particles flying in so easily. Not possible make water tight, but just need to avoid driving in water/mud.lexi 9) I am considering to sand the tires surface with rougher sandpaper to create tinier grooves to improve the grip on wet surfaces or ice. Got as well idea on first time driving on ice, to buy extra wheels and then install through them from backside the small metal pins to add a winter tires, just push those tiny nails through from proper positions and glue them in place with additional rubber ring top of them with cement glue so tires maintain their flexibility.
This looks very cool! Would you please do a comparison between FMS RC Crwaler 1/24 and Outback V2 and maybe some others. I already have the Outback V2 and I want to get the FMS because I think it is better but I would like to check those Rubicon 24 scale crawlers in a comparison. There isn't a comparison that has these two on the same video! Congratulations on the going full time on RUclips!! This is a huge thing!
Great informative review. The transmition seems quite loud on this truck in the video. Are they not as quiet and smooth as the axial scx24 ?? Thanks, Al.
Thank you for the in depth review. Had a lot of questions. You cleared them up. I have several crawlers. But, spent a couple hundred more to make them decent. Tired of that. My grandson expressed an interest. He doesn't have money to throw at it. Think I'll pick a couple of these up. Should be fun.
Very good comprehensive review of this new mini-crawler. I would have liked it to be a bit bigger as 1:18 should be quite a bit larger than 1:24 in reality. When a Mini-Z Toyota stands next to the ROC Hobby Toyota for example there is quite a noticeable difference. Plus the Unimog is much bigger than a 4x4 pick-up in real life as well.
I know its not related to the RC truck. BUT. Look at all that green plant life. Things I miss while living in colorado. Green everywhere. Good video by the way
I have a problem with, took out the electronics, because the area I play have radio antena they disturb the communication with transmitter and esc receiver. I put Furitek system that what I have from another rc will be for now on queen shell. I don't any complain about the how smooth is esc, but that problem make me angry radio antena disturb the communication. In my case is the Rock Van from Hobby Plus
Great review, I really Like the mini crawlers with the detail & looks - quality you can get with them, Just a shame it doesn't appear easy to use different small battery in them other than Lipo's, I've got a Roc Hobbies 'Fire Horse', but my stupid brain hates Lipo's, :/ would love to run it using another battery type, but cannot find any information on conversions :(
Hi it looks like your an expert on this truck I was wondering if you can tell me how come the battery its a FMS 7.7 600 mah keeps going bad on me causing the truck to not turn on. I'm up to my third battery so far when the truck doesn't run the only thing that will get it to go is a new battery, a little help please.
@FairRC has a few upgrades available already (shocks, wheel weights, etc), but it's a somewhat new platform so not much aftermarket support yet (like FMS has)
I never let the cold stop me. LOL. It can't be as cold in California as it is here in Missouri and I've been flying at least 3 to 4 times a week. I've even been doing a lot of night flying with a night timber. Put your warm boots on and a stocking cap and parka and get out there RC girl. LOL.
The ESC/Receiver also has a full light controller with all the connectors needed. low/high beam, blinkers, hazard lights etc. There's a very good instructional video by "donaldsneffe" here on YT if anyone's interested.
These trucks are available now from Fair RC - shrsl.com/3vczv
Any hop-ups? 👩🏼🔧

Good idea!
I also use Vaseline for my shocks, even the Desert Lizard shocks....
It's a cute Unimog rC car! But the size is so cute. I had fun watching it. thank you.😄😄😄

I just did that myself. Price for. Sure made it easier and the 5% off as a first time buyer.

Agree with all of the above! Glad you like it!! It's really quite capable out of the box.
Great review! Keep up the great content! I just picked up my own with their upgraded oil filled shocks as well. Can’t wait to get mine going and out on the rocks!
I need to get the shock upgrade too! Congrats, I think you'll like it!
Have not seen this one yet. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

I put some bigger Injora 1.0 crawlertires on the stock rims.Nice review! I would take the battery lower .

Awesome truck!
Great review. Can’t wait for my
Local hobby shop gets these
In stock.
Neat little Uni.
I like this! Always loved the Unimog styling.
So lovely rc 😊
Can the Phillip's screws be changed out with the hex bolts from the SCX24's?
That looks awesome but, I just bought the trx4m defender.
I know its not related to the RC truck. BUT. Look at all that green plant life. Things I miss while living in colorado. Green everywhere. Good video by the way
Yeah every time I visit Utah in winter and come back to Santa Cruz I always notice how green it is! But... I miss snow so much!
Cool video, is the wheel hex 7mm?

Oh interesting.. haven't heard of that happening. Does it turn off your wifi? I've had that happen with some of my fpv transmitters
What would be a good "Under house" inspection 4x4? FPV of course

I wonder if you can fit the 2 speed transmission from the FCX24 model.
I'll have to check!

Any website/company making upgrades for the cr-18 platform ? i can't find any.

@@RCGirl allright thank you !
een vraag was die crawler luid?
I like it, cool lil truck
If you want to mod it I have the perfect solution. Already found options with the van down by the river.😎
Ok this video made me click the buy button.
❤❤
😀
Bueno revision!
1.2" tire mean wpl will fit, easy cheap tire upgrades. And that's a faux fuel tank.
This baby crawler is really cute, I like this!
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Hahaha..I have the rock van...same people I think..
Yep same chassis! I have the van coming too! :)
When are you going to start doing reviews on rc planes. You have not done any in as many months.
I know, sorry about that! Soon when the weather gets better here
Bring back the planes!!!

Haha you dont read the manual before you turn it on
"I'll figure it out" 🤣
$119 for a RC? how tf is that a steal :skull:
Most hobby grade stuff goes for $300+ nowadays
@@RCGirl Oh right... everything is expensive now, whyyyyy T-T
