Amen. Police and clergy were called to our house when everything came out about my stepdad molesting me. My mother stayed with him, having 4 more children, and told me to tell no one in our family. When they finally were divorcing some 15 yrs later, she wanted me to tell his family and everyone for her benefit, as there was no record to be found at the small town police department from when things had been moved over from paper files to computers 🤮

I can still never wrap my head around the fact that grown ups and can even be attracted to innocent children. It’s mind boggling. Permanently scaring them before they can even enjoy life.
If i'm remembering this stat right, over 80% of offenders were once molested or raped as children. Not justifying, just expressing that this problem is cyclical more often than not and the support systems in place for survivors are indisputably trash when so many of them end up becoming perps themselves.

Begging you to pause the video at 2:21 and read the notes the police officer wrote in his statement. Read what he read in her NOTEBOOK she brought with her to the scene of the crime. How she planned to arrive with a gun and shoot to paralyze him and not kill. That level of premeditation is diabolical. She also wrote out her last will and testament, in case the conflict escalated. Also, I say the day of her heroism should have been to DEFEND THE CHILDREN before any abuse happened. If the accusations end up being true, what was she doing allowing anyone other than licensed childcare persons to be in contact with children in her care? Where was she? The husband in which she is divorcing is NOT a licensed childcare provider. The day of her heroism was lost when she turned her back on her responsibility. It's not that easy she admitted in writing that she intended to shoot at him and hoped it would paralyze him. Any chance for a self defense claim goes out the window once that notebook is entered into evidence at her trial.
that said a DA wanting to make a name for himself might be encouraged by the public to offer the woman a plea deal that has her serve a month or two in jail and a few years of probation.

I'm here in Maryland following this case closely. I'm certain that it was a very heated exchange when she confronted him with the accusations. Ex-cops rarely lose their aggresive nature when anyone stands up to them. Especially when they're in fear of facing the consequences of their actions. She's claiming self defense and I believe her. She had to have a clean criminal record in order to own a daycare. If she's presumed innocent until proven guilty, there's no way she should have been denied bail.

I seen kids took over lies and foster or adoptive parents killed, rape or abuse them. I know kids that also have abuse by other kids in those homes. So it’s like you still lose but who paying for it is those innocent babies. I’ve experienced first hand how these women lie and cover up for these nasty men. There are many ways he could have gotten them alone. Predators are not always creepy people in a van. They can be slick as hell! I don't think it's an issue of his guilt, I think this is based on how she handled it. If she would have shot him while in the act of molestation or something like that then this shooting to me would be justified. Then you can say she was protecting a child. By what I'm hearing in this clip she went to confront him about it and I'm assuming she took a gun with her. Did this go down in a hotel room? Was it just the 2 of them? Now it's her word against his as far as self defense. Does she have injuries? I agree that he should be put under the jail if these allegations are true. I sympathize with her but I know if I go looking for someone to confront them and I take a gun, I better play my card right because that self defense claim is not always easy to prove.

I'm a survivor of molestation. At 72 I still have nightmares. I'm still afraid of men. I live with fear & strong memories. What she did to defend her 'babies' is more than anyone did for me. My monster still walks the earth. I pray he didn't prey on anyone else. Not a stranger, often the case. She reported & confronted. He was a police officer. Two wrongs don't make a right. But I don't hold it against her. The parents of the abused can NEVER remove the memories from their children. They can stand with 'the defender of innocence stolen.'

Personally, I believe she thought he would get away with it due to his law enforcement ties. I am absolutely NOT a proponent for anyone taking the law in your own hands, but I can "almost" excuse it in this situation. Obviously, she believed he was 100% guilty or she wouldn't have written or confronted him like she did. This is tragic.... really for the wife, the victims and the husband's family, as well as all the wife's friends and family.
