- I uploaded this scene from the 1969 Yugoslav movie 'Most' last week but thanks to my good friend Ted in New Zealand, who sent me a much better quality version, I think it's worth re-uploading as the picture is so much clearer than the earlier clip. In fact this is the best version I have ever seen and I am indebted to Ted for allowing me to edit it for my channel. Thanks mate!

This movie was famous here in China. We even invited the actors here around the year 2000, that’s 30 yrs later after the movie was shot.

Fun fact: Bambino didn't die in the swamp but was captured, changed sides in captivity, ultimately becoming Lieutenant Meyer, who died during the first Soviet attack in Sam Peckinpah's "Cross of Iron".

At 6:51 there is also a totally hot scene. the very young handsome soldier wanted to be the fastest in the water. It didn’t matter to him whether his boots were with him
fill water. He wanted to be the first to shoot the partisan. But his boots were slowly getting heavier in the water. His boot pants kept getting wet. The muddy ground was slowly making him tired. But he didn't want to give up because his comrades were running next to him. Only one had already fallen. He noticed it immediately when he squirmed upstairs and gave a scream. But the soldier didn't care. Just forward. He saw the partisan targeting him. Now he was also a little scared. He knew if it got him he would fall in this swamp and suffocate. Suddenly his steps slowed and his hand reached to his chest. He couldn't believe it. he was hit. no, no, not me, please don't me, he shouted. But his comrades didn't care about him, they all wanted to move on. The young blonde slowly fell to the ground in the swamp. His uniform soaked up with water and his boots dug into the wet swamp. what a great ending for this young guy, ahhhhh
What an awesome description of what for me is the best kill of the whole scene!!! Yes, I can almost be in his boots here (I wish!) as he strides through the swamp, chasing the prey like its a fox in the hunt. Only this fox can bite back, and sure enough the deadly rattle of that chattering MP40 and the searing pain as its bullets slam into the young soldier's chest tells him that for him his time is up! His legs buckle and his fingers numb as his left hand vainly clutches at his riddled chest, his rifle dropping from his right as he splashes into the dank water a beaten warrior. If the bullets didn't kill him then he most likely drowned in the filth. And not one kamerad stopped to help him, their own pursuit of the fleeing prey consuming their every thought. He is down and he is dead but he sure as hell died a hero's death!!!!!

A German soldiers beat by a civilian arm unit what a movie
In real history, The Yugoslavia Partisans fought for the entire war and successfully liberated the country themselves. Only country in Europe not to be liberated by Allies or Soviets. Almost 1 million German and Axis soldiers were fighting in Yugoslavia till the end of the war. The partisans defeated the Axis in many major battles and fought a guerrilla war very effectively. So yes, Yugoslav civilians did beat German soldiers in real history.

Thank you for commenting! Yes, so many of these old movies seem to deteriorate with age so good to see there's still a decent copy out there. Not quite HD but much better than I've seen of this movie before.

Just one question. Why is this fight scene taking place in the middle of nowhere in a swamp?

The movie was supposed to depict as if the whole area was swampy and because of that there would be less german patrol. The movie looks strange with the audio translation. I have the movie as original.
