There was a whole system they used for The Reputation Tour and it worked FLAWLESSLY and Ticketmaster didn’t like that actual fans got tickets and they didn’t make money off third party sellers. Such a rip off and so sad coming from a true Taylor fan. 😢
the tickets should go out with the name of the person who bought it and only they can use it, this way they could avoid the people who buy the tickets to re-sell them

@@gracieloufreebush4899 this doesn’t work. A lot of people buy tickets for other people. Parents, friends who buy together, people giving tickets away if they can’t go, etc. It seems like a great idea but at the end of the day it doesn’t work. Resale should just be illegal or illegal at gouged price

It’s crazy, I’m not even that old but I feel like it when I say “I remember paying $25 for concert tickets.” Now it’s atleast $25 just in fees and ticket insurance.

That's not bad. Here in Montana, today we had a college football game. Brawl of the wild, between grizzlies and bobcats. Tickets were 225 to 1065 dollars per seat.

Man, I’m sorry but seeing grown adults cry over not getting a Taylor Swift ticket is just crazy.
Ticketmaster and Live Nation are to blame for this Capitalistic mess towards Swifties.
It's too bad Ticketmaster got so greedy. If they didn't try to scalp the pre-sale tickets, they could have gone unnoticed trying to scalp post-sale tickets, which didn't have the Verified Fan codes.
Scalping should be illegal. If you no longer want your ticket, you should be able to get it refunded at the official point of sale who can then offer that ticket at the original price to another fan. Tickets should be named and so you can only buy a single ticket per name and ID shown upon entry. If that means they need 300 staff to check people in in the hours before the show, that's fine, the tickets are usually costly anyways so they should be able to afford that.

Yeah like add a cap to how much you can resell for in the event you can no longer go. Like either sell at cost or for just a little over. Also, maybe instead of allowing for reselling, they should just have you return the ticket for full refund and allow others to buy it at original price.
In aust you can't sell a ticket for more than 10% of what you paid for it.

Honestly I would love to see Taylor and a few other big names publicly take down Ticketmaster. I think there outta end up in congressional court hearings, where Ticketmaster ends up torn to shreds. Break up the monopoly, and make sure they never have control again.
That's exactly what's happening. Congress opened an investigation into them and they're deciding soon on what's going to be done with ticketmaster and the merger with live nation
As a former ticket business I actually had to retire because the prices I was forced to sell tickets for. I'm not a Taylor fan but I do enjoy sports and good country bands, the fees ticket master charges is rediculous, presale our not cool because general public has to pay more money for a 40.00 ticket. Maroon 5 years ago had 5000.00 front row tickets and right behind those were 200.00 tickets. Our mark up was 10 percent what ticket network would charge. Now ticket network would buy from ticketmaster and then we would pay ticket network for the platform use as white collar business. No inventory in hand we would make 5.00 a ticket at the time. If I wanted to see a concert I still had to over pay for a ticket via my own site terrible. I missed several events because I didn't want to pay the prices.
Boycott all the ticket sellers!! In my opinion, you need to ORGANIZE flash mobs 4 hours before the concert starts and get in line like you have a ticket for the concert and then walk away from the ticket takers, this, the concert starts later or gets cancelled !!!!

The scalpers got most of the tickets
wow wasn’t even tempted to buy a ticket so surprised grown adults are crying about it. What happens at these tours that it’s so important to go? Does she greet each fan by name & give them a back massage?
The issue is is that a group of people were given a code to enter to the website to get first access and then because Ticketmaster wasn't equipped to handle the situation people were trying to check out with tickets only to be booted off the website and to lose those tickets. And it's been discovered that majority of the tickets ended up on resale sites and some tickets are going for upwards of $75,000 a ticket. And it was also discovered that Ticketmaster owns the resale site. Also a lot of tickets were given first out to large media corporations first. Since a lot of tickets that were sold as well are up for grabs in giveaways. Which is also creating an unfair battle for people who want tickets to get tickets. Also corporations like TMZ which is a celebrity tabloid media outlet. There is recently a video that they had posted where they were talking about the fiasco and some of their employees even admitted in this video to just buying tickets so that they could sell them for a higher price because they knew that they could and that a Taylor Swift and would go out of the way to do that. So I think the emotions were coming from people just frustrated with the site and how ticket master was not equipped to handle the situation even though they said they were. And how they got screwed over by ticketmaster.

It's not about Taylor, it's about how many problems ticketmaster, a company is causing.
I'm not a genius but I'm pretty sure TM can hire great developers that can find the accounts created by those scalpers and actually cancel the resales. Taylor has been doing this for a LONG time, she knew this was gonna happen. Her and her team not following the same guidelines as The Reputation Stadium Tour is beyond me. Both are at fault.
I'm a computer and network service technician, and the error codes and connection problem suggest Ticketmaster was the one scalping the tickets themselves. They seem to have ditched the remaining Verified Fans in the queue once it reach down to 1000-2000 remaining tickets. 502 error, queue stuck at 2000+ and not processing. Ticketmaster database for Era tour seems to have been reassigned to external(?) websites under different names (Ticketnetwork and Vividseats owned by same entity). You can tell it was a breach of trust, as only people with Verified Fans code were supposed to get first pick at face value prices.

I hope that this is a safe space for sharing opinions without threat of being bullied or having my comment deleted. I have some valid/substantive concerns abt Taylor, and her silence on these criticisms make it difficult for me to give her the benefit of the doubt in situations where money is concerned, like the issue you talk about in this video. truthfully, her silence on these criticisms precludes me from ever calling myself a fan again (not that it matters). I understand she’s a brilliantly talented songwriter and I don’t mean to diminish that in any way, nor do I want to rain on any fans’ parades, but…. I am sensing either a lack of awareness or a lack of concern for Taylor’s track record of behaving at the expense of others.
Taylor Swift’s team tried to silence an op-ed author for saying she should denounce the white supremacists who called her their “Aryan Goddess” with a cease-and-desist letter a whole year into Tr*mp’s presidency. These white supremacists even went as far as to claim that Taylor Swift shared their beliefs. She and her team could have sent the cease-and-desist letters to the Alt-Right groups making those claims in the first place. The fact that the person she threatened with legal action was the one claiming she should denounce the literal hate group is beyond disturbing. The ACLU intervened, admonishing her team for using scare tactics against the writer’s first-amendment protected speech. (I mean…. Yeah…. 🤷♀️ Shouldn’t we have all seen that coming?)
Tr*mp is an evil man and yet even as a self-proclaimed feminist, Taylor could not be bothered to lend her voice to election cycle discourse. Even amid Racist remarks and straight up hate speech, Xenophobic remarks, ableist remarks, and talk of grabbing p*ssy. Taylor did not speak out in favor of left-of-moderate politics until 2018, and when she did speak out the optics were that she only did because it was at a time when polls indicated it was low-risk for her to do so without alienating a large portion of her fan base. She hates to be called calculating but that’s exactly what she’s shown herself to be. Every move she makes, she makes with her reputation (haha) in mind, with money in mind, and with the goal of shattering records in mind. She has not **shown **herself to be a noble person with the best interest of other human beings at heart.
I had thought maybe she had grown as a person, and as a former Swiftie wanted to believe it, but as recently as 2021 there was a situation where she took to Twitter to say that a Netflix show, Ginny and Georgia, had made a sexist joke at her expense (re her going through lots of boyfriends). It's fine that she wanted to stand up for herself in that way, but when Swifties began attacking the actress who delivered the line with racist slurs and LITERAL THREATS OF DEATH in response to Taylor’s tweet, it’s outrageous that she didn’t say something. This was a big news headline. Taylor was “feminist” enough to defend her own name (in the name of her very self-serving brand of feminism) but disappeared when attacks turned ugly and racist. That's not real feminism. I can't be convinced she and her team didn't know about this. It was a big news story and it took place as a direct result of her tweet defending herself.
She has a long history of this type of self-serving and politically tone-deaf behavior. Despite being so tight-lipped on politics for so long, she’s quick (as in the Ginny and Georgia incident) to let her outrage show when it benefits her. The fact that she wrote an op-ed lambasting streaming services like Spotify for the lack of dollars going into artists’ pockets from money earned on music streams, but could not be bothered to speak out about the many substantive issues facing the country (immigration law, police brutality, school shootings, etc) or to defend a woman against death threats and racist hate speech because of a tweet that SHE HERSELF wrote… I mean, that tells you all you need to know. She is the Jeff Bezos of the music industry. Because I predict someone will make it about this, I’m not against her taking up a cause that’s important to her. If that’s what you want to do, go off, queen! But if she’s going to do that she better have something to say about issues that affect those who don’t have her immense privilege and platform. THAT’S where my problem starts.
I get that she is a human who deserves grace and forgiveness like the rest of us, but these are glaring examples of hypocrisy and of behavior at the expense of other people, and at this point, it’s a pattern.
Maybe I’m naive for not assuming that all wealthy capitalists are compromised as human beings, but why don’t we care? We know she responds to criticism, but for whatever reason no one wants to talk about this.
Edit: I do want to be sensitive to the pressures that are on her, and I always believe in allowing people room to grow. If she has an awakening tomorrow, I will be here for it. But I’d be lying if I said I haven’t already begun to wonder about her character. Maybe that will change. 🤷♀️
