Tim! Thanks for this video! Cacklefests are awesome but the race cars are beautiful as well, not like today where all we have is ugly contraptions that we cannot relate to!
"Vintage Drag Cars" now there's a phrase I've never heard before, but oh, when they started those babies up, did those memories flow back of watching, hearing... and feeling, beauties like these fly down the strip, back in the 80's. There is just nothing like hearing the pure burbling purr of a dragster in warm up. Awesome video Tim! Thanks for sharing!
@@scottawes921 Exactly that. Never heard that phrase before, guess because Australia doesn't have that many Vintage Drag Cars that do the rounds of shows. At least not compared to the States.
Good morning Tim Man,, AWESOME video dude love that green and yellow Nova funny car and the corvair,,, Way cool thanks for a great show buddy later Glen
I remember back in the 80s at the top fuel nationals...man these things are ground pounding. 4 to 5 second passes. 5000 horsepower engines...wow blew me away, just the sound of these things near you, your whole body shakes....wow wow. Love em
God Bless You Tim 🤗🤗 AIN'T NOTHIN Like The AROMA Of NITRO And Ground QUAKING BONE-SHAKING Reality Of PURE RAW Mechanical HORSEPOWER ‼️‼️BBWUUUUHAHAHAHAAAA, I LOVE IT 💕💕🤗🤗🤗 Gary.

Here's an interesting piece of that tid-bit. The first HEMI engine in the video shows something very important to the blower drive system. A lot of these race cars, (NOT street driven cars), are started with a remote starter. The modeling community hasn't caught yet either. Look at the belt pulley on the front of the blower. See that dark ring? It's the part that the starter turns to start the engine. But both the model companies and the aftermarket don't replicate that in the race only blown engines! Just a rant about people who THINK their model is highly detailed when they leave out important details. (Yes, I see everything and it's not OCD. It's how i was trained to spot issues when diagnosing problems with cars not functioning right. lol)
@@THROTTLEPOWER. What's funny is that system for starting is the only thing I can think of that has never been updated from the old original racers when it was made. EVERY thing else from these cars is now defunct for the new rules and all.
This is so awesome I remember as a kid in Albuquerque New Mexico watching a couple Chrysler blown and Chevy Blown Dragsters move down the track smoke them all the way down thank you guys for putting on the show
