- Samsung Galaxy A54 5G Unboxing & hands on overview this is the new premium mid-ranger from Samsung it has a 6.4" SAMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, comes with the new Exynos 1380 5G chipset and has a triple rear camera setup 50MP Main (OIS) + 12MP Ultrawide & 5MP Macro the front facing camera is a 32MP and it comes with 5000 mAh battery and is IP67 rated.
This video is in #collab with Samsung India and the smartphone provided to me was from Samsung India but all the thoughts and testing was done independently by me

I got SAMSUNG A51 at ₹ 21K . i am using it since 25 months with no issue at all till now. I can certainly say that yes A5x series is bit costly but you will get an wholesome and relaxing experience in all departments.

S21 FE is a better option for almost everyone and its also priced cheaper at 35k in most of the sales with normal price of 40k (before all bank and card offers)

I am using Samsung A52 (4G) since last 20 Months or so purchased for about 23k... Device is pretty good
About A54, can't see any significant changes apart from minor design and camera tweaks

Im using A52 and it has become slow, app opening is slow even network connectivity has become slow, in display fingerprint sensor is slow and doesn't work at most times have to try multiple times. Experience sucks now. Also if i dont update to the latest update it slows the phone and hangs, so in the end i have to update without a choice.

Hi Ranjit, could you measure & include the pwm frequency of all oled phones henceforth? It is a huge issue for quite a number of folks, and with the prevalence & seeming ubiquity of oled displays these days, I feel this will definitely be helpful for a large number of users, and it will also further set you apart from most other reviewers. I've been watching your videos for years & I am confident you have the skills to measure accurately & you will always give your honest opinions. It is also useful even for users who are not pwm sensitive, as its becoming clear now that screens that flicker on & off to fake being dimmer are actually bad for our eyes & are causing early ageing of eyes as well as problems like earlier onset of macular degeneration etc. Cheers & have a good weekend :))

I just bought the S21 FE 256GB variant for 35k. No one in their right mind will buy the A54, not until the FE is still on the market. Also I've been using it for 2 weeks, and battery has not been an issue for me. Darn good phone

Why compare just release msrp phone price with old phone sale price? Samsung always release overpriced phone which becomes good deal later after price decrease. Everyone hated S21fe, A52s on launch, now it's recommended.

Removing the charger from premium devices can be somewhat acceptable, but from budget devices like A14 and f23 feels irritating. I chose realme 9i over A14 just because of the no charger scenario

I agree. Generally Ranjit seems very balanced but this seems promotional. Gorilla Glass 5 would have the same durability across devices. Also, NFC is a surprise for a phone that costs 39k?

I got A52s 5G for my mother at just 26k and it is one of the most complete smartphones in this day and age, it had everything I could wish for like 3.5 mm jack, OIS, IP67 water resistant, snapdragon 778G+ and an adequately good set of cameras! A52s 5G is still unbeatable for me!
I also have the A52s. Compare to the A54, it feels like an unnecessary upgrade. The A52s is still very capable even today.
A52s 5g is undoubtedly the best A series phone.

30-33 will be good price. + 1000 for charger. 37k is ok price. We need to see what they do with upgrades. Heard sometimes upgrade causes bad camera etc. Good candidate for bbd 2023?

Some of it is super tech for me. I am using an A70S for 3 years and ready to upgrade. This seems a really good choice despite the price jump. Veruy feature rich. Good volume too. The dolby atmos is amazing. You don't have to go to movie theaters or buy highend homethwater setups. Just borrow your friends phone. Simply superb. My friends sony home theater felt pale in front of this phone. I mean the white one. Black one was ok.

I am currently using the a54 5g overall the phone performs amazing the only issue is during the daylight photography which it tends to darken up after the image processing i hope samsung would fix this with an update and improve the camera optimization for daylight usage.
How is the battery life and is there any heating issue?
@@suvamkeshari amazing battery life actually enough for a day and no heating issues just gets slightly warm actually and no other problems and the chipset is powerful enough for casual gaming runs the games pretty smooth.

How is the camera now...how is the phone...after the update bro?
When Ranjit has to say that ip67, durability and front facing camera as the main standout points of the phone over its competitors in that price range, it’s really pathetic. We have already seen the horrible heating and battery backup in the exyonos which is present in the s21fe. And we are going to see similar results in this one too. Benchmarks are not the reality and real world usage varies greatly. This is not at all a good all round device for that price.
He talks about durability like it's a feature. Most phones will survive that kind of fall. He didn't have much to say so he decided to prolong the video by adding this. Also, he said it is UFS 3.1 storage when it is UFS 2.2.
I remember once he said that devices that aren't good, he simply denies them. This is an example of an overpriced, below average smartphone and he still reviewed it and furthermore said things that aren't true. Samsung can inform their reviewers if their S23 lineup had UFS 4.0 or not but won't disclose it in here. Living even the reviewers in vague. This is such a pathetic move by such a large brand. No brand is saint, but Samsung isn't becoming any better at least not in this market.

How is the call volume on and off speaker, is there voice leak ie can the person next to you listen to what the person on the other side is speaking if not on speaker? Volume of the ringer?
It is overpriced. Price should have been between 30-35k at max. Also there's no charger. Top variant is 38k after using ICICI credit card. I really hate the fact that Samsung not give charger.

The A73 was overpriced at around ₹40,000. And that was with the Snapdragon 778G. An Exynos device for ₹40,000 is simply wayy too expensive. Not even close to worth it in my opinion. No matter what else they put in, everything else is used rarely, but the processor really makes or breaks a device in the long term.
Edit PS: I did get the A73 for ₹32000 with certain Diwali deals and exchange (M32). For that price I'm extremely satisfied.
The design looks so gorgeous. This time I think the A54 is positioned more as an A7x and the A34 is positioned as an A5x.
the thing I absolutely hate about a34 is the front bezel, like the teardrop notch or whatever looks awful in 2023 in a sub 30k phone

I own an A33 5G with exynos 1280. What me can tell you that you will get great battery life and no heating issues. But performance you won't get. A54 looks premium with nice features. At 40k, its too much. Would've been a great deal at 30k

I have the A52s 5G and the geekbench score for the processor (Snapdragon 778g) is 992 in single core and 2715 in multi-core performance. The A54 has only 116 points more in multi-core performance so no thanks, no exynos for me.
i dont think its overpriced, cuz of 4 years of Upgrades and 5Y security update. So frankly i would not say that this is overpriced. Further battery and durability is also good. Looks wise also it is good specially purple color, so i would say yes this is a good one. Chipset wise frankly i dont feel i need flagship, 5g is there, battery is there, durability is there, nfc is there, and looks is also there :P . So this seems like good and correctly priced phone.
for that price other brands are giving flagship processers, apart from 4 years update nothing great in this phone for 40k.

In this price range Moto edge 30 fusion will be a great choice i think. You also get curved display at 39k

Yeah me too. But the reports and leaks are very foggy. Some Leaker Roland says it won't come. Some days, Samsung is working on getting raw materials and will be only possible to release in Q4 i.e. end of year approx. I guess wait n watch.

FE series have been discontinued now.
Got Poco F1 for 17k back in 2018 it would still be my daily driver but the battery gave up, I got A52 after that but still use F1 with GCam for clicking photos and A52 hangs a lot.

Samsung was selling s21fe with an attractive price 31,999rs....if I am not wrong from 21 or 22nd mar they will again sell s21fe @ 31,999. What's is your views.

Ranjit sir, nice video. However I doubt it having UFS 3.1 as it has ANTUTU of 520,000 which is close to that of M52, Realme GT Master, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G (all of them have UFS 2.2 only). If it is really UFS 3.1, it should have at least 620,000 score - in same range as One Plus Nord 2T)
storage increase data read and write speed, the score you're talking about is increased by processor (Exynos) and yaa a54 processor is weaker then one from xiaomi or realme (sd778g)

I am using Samsung A53 5G sicne 7 months and I don't faced any problem.

It's equal to Snapdragon 778G 5G. Also newer and upcoming Exynos is way better . Much better than Snapdragon.

It is not the performance core but mid cores that have got the upgrade.
The little/efficiency cores would likely be similar to the competition. Comparison with Google tensor 1 would actually be a good bench mark.
There is no mid cores. It's 4 + 4 instead of 2 + 6.
@@frankreynolds9930 A78(Hercules) is a mid core by mobile SoC design standards.
Samsung has not added any performance cored to this chip which is unfortunate as they do have it on self and with other S23 variants using Snapdragons I still don't get why make life tougher for your own phones.
Pixels 6A with X1*2 + A76*2 would be a good match to compare if Samsung messed up their SoC selection for performance.

Sure pixel 6a is faster but now it has lot less battery performance than a54 and even pixel 5a due to power hungry nature of x1.
