    ........the "Ethel's Paradise" was a beauty, even with the kitty issue, and your phals stacking up leaves says a lot about their care....Its not just your beautiful orchids you grow....but your video style is such a pleasure to see and listen too....easy to hear, and focus is on the plants ....great update.

    Awesome collection! I love especially your Phal. tetraspis var Imperatrix ‘Purple’ and your Ld’s Sunrose ‘LD’. I have seen that one for sale on Big Leaf Orchids a while ago.
    My tetraspis smell like rubber with a hint of rose in the background.
    Thanks for sharing your collection.

      @@NicoleDeanna Yep! The younger the plant, the more rubbery the smell was. Now that it's older and more mature the rose smell becomes more pronounced.

    I really like the color combination of Blc. Hsingying Greenworth we get spider mites too but in our dry but cooler winters. It's been a hot start to our summer and now we have daily rain storms. Typical south Florida weather. Our difficulty here is to keep a look out for too much water in orchid roots so avoid black rot and soggy roots. Thank you for a nice show of what is blooming.

      Hahah! ❤️ Hopefully I do well in describing them. Sometimes I'm lost and say 'this smells like a cattleya ' because it has the same fragrance that most other cattleyas do without standing out as too fruity or floral or spicy. Hopefully you enjoy them an can see what I mean about the fragrances when they bloom!

      @NicoleDeanna you do! Very well actually. I haven't found that all pink Ethels Paradise yet.omg! That thing doesn't even look real! I want one so bad, but none that I've seen online are as magnificent as yours. I could die a happy woman if I could get that orchid in my hands🤣😂 (I say that about all of your orchids)

    Hi Nicole. You have a beautiful collection of orchids. I lost my Amboinensis due to spider mites and some of my other ones. Nasty little critters. But I was able to get some replacements. You have a nice weekend. 🥰🎀🤗💐

    1:04 Really surprising to see a Zygo in bloom! I thought they're supposed to be cool growing? 🤔
    4:54 Green flowers with pink lips are becoming my favorite recently. I have the Brassocattleya Gulfshores Beauty 'Green Gem' which is also called (Bc. Carnival Kids) and it has this parentage: (B. nodosa x C. dormaniana). I got it from Hausermann in May, repotted it and it's already making new root tips. It was potted in moss in two baskets with the roots growing out of the pot and wrapping around so it was probably one of the most tricky repots for me.
    7:20 I got my first White Plains orchid (Mini Phal. Younghome Fragrance Love with peach color blooms) in March at the Nutmeg State Orchid Show in West Hartford, CT. It was about $30.

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  Месяц назад +1

      I'd say that zygo is more intermediate growing, but with that said, it's not happy! The blooms were not fantastic due to the heat and the colors were off. I hope I can get a better show in the fall
      Brassavola crosses are super vigorous. I'm not surprised it's immediately pushing loads of roots!

    The mislabeled one could be a Phal. LD Sun Rose 'Frey's'. Since no one seems to be able to find the other, the Frey is a current hybrid--I bought mine in Aug. 2023. It looks exactly the same. When you said it smells like cotton candy, I thought this might be a better match. Mine smells sugary sweet.

    Get some catnip or a little patch of grass for Zoe. She thinks the orchids are grass. Or, put a fence around your orchids. Cats can be like children. Cat proof your orchids. 😂

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  Месяц назад

      I will get her more cat grass. It's so frustrating. She never did this before with cattleyas lol

  • @dorenehodge3212

    Wish I could reach across and give you a shake every time you say your cat ate your orchids. If I could send across the boarder I would send you a package of cat grass. I am in Quebec and watch you all the time. If you can find a garden seed cataloge send for a package. Your dear kitty is looking for grass and your orchids are the next best thing seeing she is not outside.

    • @NicoleDeanna
      @NicoleDeanna  Месяц назад

      This is the sign... I will get her cat grass again. She honestly still chews on other things even if it's available to her but perhaps I need to put multiple pots of it EVERYWHERE. Thank you for this! ❤️
