Stingless bees can survive near rice fields even though farmers notoriously spray pesticides. Possible reasons lie on the fact that bees rarely or perhaps do not visit rice flowers because it does not have much nectar or pollen. Also, experts say that rice is wind pollinated. Another fact is that bees will forage on the closest source to get their food. This video presents the reality that bees can thrive beside rice fields. Colonies presented in this video are strong and are ready for honey production. One of the hives excels because of it four layers while most if the hives are three-layered. In my observation as a beekeeper, stingless bees will flourish close to rice fields as long as they have abundant food source. Hobbyists, environmentalists, conservationists ang beginning beekeepers must learn from expert beekeepers to protect investment in propagating native bees that helps in ecological balance.

Hello po paano paraan nyo if seasons po ng sprayan ng pesticides sa palay, kasi yung locations ko na balak ko lagyan ng bees ay few steps sa palayan, pero backyard na may forage naman ng fruit bearing trees at balak ko lagyan ng maraming flowering ornamentals plants
Wala akong intervention na ginagawa kapag may nag i spray. Hinahayaan ko lang sila kahit may nag i spray sa paligid. Pinakamabuti ay gawin din ninyo ang ginawa ko. Sinubukan ko munang mag alaga ng ilan lamang na colony. Kapag nag survive a gumanda sila matapos ang isang planting season ay puede ninyong dagdagan.
Napakahalaga na madami silang pagkain sa paligid para di na sila lumayo para kumuha ng pagkain
Mahalaga din na may tubig na maiinom malapit sa hive nila para maiwasan ang risk na pumunta sila sa palayan para di makainom ng tubig na kontaminado ng lason
