I have this doorbell and I can tell you the second camera is vital to catch the down angle of the door. No single camera doorbell can show the door bottom no matter how wide the view. It's basically a blind spot. I use colour vision at night and it's crystal clear
The wall to the side reflects too much IR light destroying the nightvision AE… I have the basic version and noticed that too, use the angled mount and you will see night vision will be a lot better
That night vision was terrible, because of the poor placement reflecting too much infrared light to throw off the contrast balance. Maybe a follow up video without it angled to capture so much brick wall off to the left of the image, is in order?
The fact that they review security cameras and didn’t know this simple concept is not great when wanting to trust their expertise. I had my front door replaced and my Eufy camera was moved a bit by the contractor and now it slightly catches the wall so night vision is affected the same way… just like any night vision camera would.
I have the previous model (one camera). Work very well without subscription, including connection through 3 or 4G phone app. There is still a delay but it is true for all device so at decided to picked EUFY because of the recording base to be used with multiple EUFY devices and no subscription fees.
Have you tested the "Delivery Guard" feature? It is supposed to 1. let you know when a package is placed under it. 2. play a pre-recorded message when intruder approach your package (this could scare away the porch pirate). 3. frequently remind you to pick up the package.
It's worth noting that anyone concerned about security would undoubtedly also have exterior lighting on motion sensors or timers. So it's unlikely that anyone standing in front of the camera would ever be in darkness.
Great job with testing all the boxes and I especially liked your comments about latency with notifications and whether the app takes you to the live feed or the recording. Something I haven’t considered yet! A bit of feedback: Can you retry the night time test by adjusting the camera so the wall isn’t in the way? I noticed a few other comments too about the IR reflecting back into the camera and the device struggling with the contrast. Also, I noticed at least three different placements of the doorbell in this video. Seems like the night time test was done in a different location than the day time and pull tests.
I bought the Eufy Dual Doorbell 2K in February this year knowing that the software release was due in March 2023 so that the doorbell will then work with Homebase. 3. There's nothing worse than having two home bases and a doorbell that can't recognize familiar faces. I got an email today from Eufy stating that there will be no firmware update for this doorbell for the next 2 to 3 months. I, along with many other customers, would feel very let down with this new information.
@@sw793 Do it for sure, the new Eufy app update and the firmware for Homebase 3 is brilliant. I'm loving how well the dual camera doorbell works. I just need to upgrade the memory in the Homebase3 and that's pretty easy from what I understand!
Grteat review! Suggest next time to test with a motion activated outdoor light to test its performance as it could be a very easy fix for what seems to be a doorbell camera with great potential.
This: A bit of feedback: Can you retry the night time test by adjusting the camera so the wall isn’t in the way? I noticed a few other comments too about the IR reflecting back into the camera and the device struggling with the contrast.
Good overall review, but your judgment on the doorbell nightvision capability has zero context! You can't compare the performance of the doorbell's night vision vs. your ideal expectations. Night vision requires IR lighting. I suspect the doorbell's overall physical size was the limitation.
Although the price is a bit steep for a video doorbell, I would much rather pay a higher upfront cost than have a monthly subscription. Also a lot companies that offer subscriptions are putting more and more features behind the paywall so I’d rather go with the company that has no subscriptions.
I never had a problem with the previous version of the Doorbell 2k before bought the new version pro You have a slow message on my phone of absolutely nothing
It does with the messaging , but I still love it and feel safer. If a person has something sinister in mind. It's gonna take them way longer and you always have that sim card to view what took place. Mine also has an alarm which I'm reading the instructions to find out how it works but it's loud.
Currently, I use a Google nest doorbell.. I don't have a problem with a 10-second delay as sometimes it takes my Google as much as 10 minutes to send me a notification.. In fact, half the time, I don't get a notification when packages are left with Google. Secondly, saving $6 a month in monthly subscription fees makes this very appealing. As for the night vision, I have zero concerns there, as my porch and front yard are very well illuminated by a porch light as well as landscape lighting.
Sad Anker makes some nice stuff .... I have a ring 2 it's a tank for being 1080 looks great everything has worked great too even after was dropped from 2nd floor maybe it's worth paying for ring 🤔
This costs $449 AUD here in Australia, PLUS you can’t buy it as an ADD-ON using our current Eufy homebase unit and must buy the complete set - sucks! While I don’t need-need it, I thought it might work well, as our front door is at the top of 10 stairs, and even though I have a EUFY cam pointing towards the front door and alerting me of arrivals, I like the idea of seeing people’s faces, instead of the top of their heads. Or do I just forget this and buy another EUFY 2C cam? Any suggestions?
I suggest you go for Lockly's Vision Elite. Based on what you're looking for i think that would solve your concerns. Its video camera gives you HD full view of anyone outside your door
Lol, this reminds me of my childhood. As little kids, we thought ringing bells and running away was fun. I had forgotten all about those games, so thanks for making me laugh.
My Eufy doorbell camera only lasted about a year when it malfunctioned. Eufy did not seem to care as they will only honor replacements within a year. If you buy one of these pricey doorbell cameras, you could end up in a situation like mine. Broken camera and no Eufy support. They really do not care about keeping their customer base as they refused to do anything about my defective camera. I’ve heard multiple stories of similar situations to mine, so I highly recommend researching these products extensively before committing to a purchase.
I have this cam and it rather sucks. The notification delay is real no matter the setting or wifi speed. Also it detects people really late. When people are moving at a normal walking pace they just show up mid frame all the sudden even though I have sensitivity and radar on max. The motion detection software or sensors must be really weak and subpar at this price. If someone wants to steal a package, this won’t help except to confirm to you that a person did it. It’ll record the person mid frame and alert you well after they left.
Unacceptable. My video doorbell needs to stream in 4K, provide a quad camera array and alert me that packages have arrived before they have been delivered.
Nothing better than my ring Pro2 😁 Just word of advice make sure that your router is next to the window next to the door so you don’t have any missed notifications
Why do you talk about 2 way talk but not show it?! you were so close to show how to start 2 way talk, but you skipped it too. Just like all the other reviewers who just skip the whole process of starting a 2 way talk. Nobody is showing it, they all skip the part where they acutally start to talk.
Thumbs down. Your night vision footage was flawed as you didn't install it in the correct spot. The infrared is reflecting off the wall back into the camera.
So is this a review for wired or battery operated camera? There is no mention of it anywhere in video or description. Consumer reports has a drastically different rating for wired and battery operated doorbells. Had to thumb down this video for the lack of clarity.
Eufy is garbage, my 2k door cam delay is bad it only shows the persons back as they are 15 feet away from my door and other times it does'nt detect anyone at all.
Eufy facial recognition is weak I got the new cams it’s not good at all not happy with mine they do weird glitchy stuff just to much money for to little camera in my personal opinion
Sorry but that is incorrect. If people actually botheted to understand how it works, only thumbnail images were uploaded for notifications (which is a user setting). There is no evidence or accusation that video was uploaded, only second hand quotes from ill informed people.

My nest cam can see right below
The camera was too close to the wall. You could see the infrared lights hitting it on the left side there. Move it over a little and it will be fine.
The wall to the side reflects too much IR light destroying the nightvision AE… I have the basic version and noticed that too, use the angled mount and you will see night vision will be a lot better
Yeah. These guys are noobs. That's like night vision 101 knowledge.
That night vision was terrible, because of the poor placement reflecting too much infrared light to throw off the contrast balance. Maybe a follow up video without it angled to capture so much brick wall off to the left of the image, is in order?

In their own house, the chances are higher. When they are renting, the chances are lower.
Do you have all the outside lights off during the night vision test? I usually keep mine on and would have liked to see both with lights on and off.

One day they'll have an ultrwide telephoto and macro lense like phones

For the people who already have this is the notification time a 10sec or more delay? Does it lag sometimes longer
