Among FBS teams, Georgia ranks 9th in all time wins. However, they rank 4th in total wins over the last 50 years. Georgia also ranks second in all time bowl game wins, 11th in total weeks ranked by the AP and have the 10th most NFL draft picks produced. They also have 2 Heisman trophy winners, including, arguably the greatest College Football player in history in Herschel Walker. Finally, they have 4 National Championships and could rightfully claim a fifth (1946) but refuse to. Three of those National Championships have come over the last 50 years. That puts them ahead Blue Blood programs like Ohio State, Texas, Michigan and Notre Dame during this period. The story of College Football could not be fully written without the University of Georgia. They are, without a doubt, a true Blue Blood of College Football. Go Dawgs!!!
Aye trudawg... dont b so truthful 😂😂💯
We r dawgnation😎🍺
OSU has won 3 in the last 50 years with 4 more unclaimed titles. OSU has played in 5 Natty's since 2002. 41 conference championships to UGA 17 conference championships how does that put UGA ahead of OSU? 8 Natty's to 4🤔🤷🏾♂️. UGA is a great program but knock it off.
@@southeastdaygo6193 OSU has won 2 in the past 50 years, period. I'd love to hear about these unclaimed titles. OSU fans and their delusion. Your last three titles have been in 1970, 2002 and 2014. As far as conference titles, that is simply because you play in the weak Big Ten. It is a conference that historically, has been a two pony show. Add to that the fact that Michigan took about 15 years off this century made it very easy for OSU to win 11 big Ten titles in that span. In the past 50 years, Georgia has more total wins and more National titles than OSU, period. We have also beaten your ass twice in bowl games. Never lost to you as a matter of fact. Nearly every time you play for a championship against the SEC, you lose. The lone outlier occurred in 2014. Every other time, whether it's Florida, LSU, Alabama or the Dawgs, you lose.
One thing I can say about OSU and their fanbase: If I could buy them for what they are worth and sell them for what they think they are worth, I'd be a rich man.
@@truedawg1339 Wow cool bs narrative. It doesn't change the fact that OSU has tripled UGA in Natty appearances alone. Never met such an arrogant fan base that until 2018 hasn't really done anything worth talking about. I lived in ATL on and off since 2004 and I saw them lose to Boise St. OSU would never!
@@southeastdaygo6193 I wouldn't agree with that. In 2012 we played Alabama in the SEC championship game. Whoever won played Notre Dame for the natty. Everyone knew whoever won would beat Notre Dame. I would say that counted, at least indirectly, as playing for the NC. It wasn't as easy to get to the game in the SEC as it was in the weak Big Ten. Besides, playing for ain't the same as winning.
Georgia has played the most games against LEGACY top 25 teams all time. Has the 3rd most wins against those teams all time and the 7th highest win percentage against.
The reason this matters is to show that some teams(OSU,USC) actually drop win percentage substantially against those teams, verifying that they have inflated stats against lesser than competition.
Y’all better get on the wagon Kirby ain’t going nowhere!! Go dawgs!!!!!
They’ve got 4 National Championships, 2 Heisman trophy winners and have been relevant for the last 50 years, so yeah they are definitely a blue blood

we need to come up with a definition of what a blue blood is as college football fans
If the story of college football can’t be written without including your program’s name in the discussion you’re a Blueblood program in my eyes
@@krowking123 i agree with the sentiment 100% the only problem is it is subjective as all hell you could have a legit argument on who to include in the story etc based on biases .
@@robd1811so true, hard to mention college football and never mention Bobby Bowden and 40 straight bowl invites in the AP era, multiple heismans multiple nattys, being DBU…. But im not sure FSU is a blue blood since they are relatively new compared to Michigan or others with decades more of existence.
@@SurferRC exactly like take florida for example all of their accomplishments come from the time period of 1990 to 2008 all of their conference titles and national championships and 2 of their 3 heismans..... a lot of people who were apart of the 90s and 00s would consider them blue bloods but how can you consider a program a blue blood where if you take away an 18-19 season stretch out of the 130+ seasons of CFB they have no accomplishments... of course though hard to not include florida in the "story of college football" so a lot of people include them as a blue blood.
I like a much more exclusionary historical view of what a blue blood is. I think you need to be in the top 10 list for multiple catagories to be considered a blue blood. Those catagories are as follows...... all time wins, all time winning percentage, all time national championship list, how many bowl games have you been too, bowl game record, how many heisman winners have you had, how many weeks you have been in the AP poll, and how many weeks have you been number 1 in the AP poll.............
that is 8 catagories you need to be top 10 in atleast three of those catagories to be considered a blue blood in my opinion.
that is my opinion i know people will disagree but if you disagree i challenge you to come up with an OBJECTIVE way to MEASURE what a blue blood is not just "are they in the story of college football?" that is super subjective and while i agree with the sentiment it isn't an accurate way to say who is a blue blood or not.
I could care less to be honest with you. And this is why.
Take Alabama and set them aside. If your blue bloods are Ohio st Texas usc etc… if that means being a blue blood is winning 2 natties in 55 years, or your last being from ‘05 or ‘03 and y’all haven’t done shit since?
You can have that title. We’ll just take THE title. Go dawgs
They brand new winners in 2021.
They have had a dominant 2- 3 year run in CFB. It's more of the Kirby Smart era than blue blood.

They a blue blood my guy
For All of you "new" Georgia Fans. Georgia is with out a doubt a Blueblood. Georgia had a team go fight and win a war in 1944 and came back and won a national title. They don't claim make believe titles like others. We don't need to be "validation" from casual fans. Georgia earned it. Go Dawgs!!!
Georgia should claim the 1946 National Championship. They were the only unbeaten team that won their bowl game that year.

Georgia is definitely a blue blood.
Without a doubt. Anyone, who actually knows CFB history, would have to agree. Go Dawgs!!!
@@truedawg1339 wrong
@@austinloughran3277I've already laid out my reasons in a factual manner. Saying "wrong" doesn't just make the facts go away.
@@truedawg1339 the fact that you guys only have 4 Nattys doesn’t go way either
@@austinloughran3277 Well you better tell Texas they are no longer a Blue Blood.
Yes they are. Only Bama has more SEC championships and Georgia has just as many national championships as Texas. LSU is a blue blood too.
LSU is not a blue blood…come on. Let’s just have everyone at the table. Throw FSU and Miami in there while you’re at it. Stop the madness
cause texas aint a blue blood either
If that we're the case you would have to put Minnesota in there and we all know there not, but let's have this conversation again after this decade Go Dawgs! Thanks for keeping it real
How many top 15 finishes does minnesota have in the last 40 yrs
Georgia has always been good. But it took circumstances not to be repeated to get them a Natty: UGA and Michigan clearly benefitted the most from the CVD extra eligibility. They were uniquely positioned with many many OL and DL upperclassmen.
In UGAs case they needed a 25 y/o QB (with a successful pro OC there only the years the QB was there) and 24 year old D linemen (plural) that were key contributors to add on top of their usual stockpile of them.
For decades Georgia has been a relatively consistent winning program. I think Blue Bloods are defined by eras. It’s true Yale and Harvard aren’t going to be competing for Nattys, neither is Nebraska. For the modern era; Yes, Georgia is a blue blood.
Josh, they gone drag you
As a Georgia fan I see a uga helmet but as a none I see texas bama and michigan and osu then uga as of late
I expect georgia and krby to win at least 4 more titles before he retires
Yes UGA needs 5stars but they will and can develop a 3star into a 5star also
Regardless of what people's opinions are now, I will be very shocked if Georgia isn't considered a blue blood by the time the Kirby era ends. Kirby will probably win 2-3 more national championships and maybe more if he doesn't go to the NFL or retires early.
I’m just here for the comments

@@austinloughran3277 Well how many Nattys do you need for Blue Blood status? Texas "only" has 4 yet they are considered a Blue Blood by most. What about 5 like Nebraska. Is that your magic number? Please tell me.
Lastly, Georgia's status as a Blue Blood is only questioned by people who don't know CFB history.
Before Kirby UGA had everything you need to be a blue blood except championships. Now after back to back championships & 3 straight undefeated regular seasons. Clearly a blue blood
UGA is amazing right now. Top dowgz right now and probably for awhile. BUT BlueBlood is about through out history. If your not in the top 10 winning programs of all time then your not in the conversation, point blank. Certified Blue Bloods are the top five. 6-10 belong at the table.
Harvard and Yale are in the top 10 for all time wins lol and Georgia is 11th so that’s a god awful criteria unless you are going to argue yale and Harvard being blue bloods in college football.
@@greggalton3331 clearly it’s D1 power 5. UGA can have a seat at the table.

Spewing ignorant nonsense is unbecoming. By your own definition UGA is a blue blood genius.
Josh is high.
Who cares.....blue blood or not they are about to dominate college football for a while.
historically, no. eventually probably
Bro! Seriously?
Does it matter. I'm a Dawg fan, but if you compare to Bama then no.
Blue Blood status is completely irrelevant. At least when you count teams of past decades. What IS relevant then? Who is THE powerhouse team of the current college football landscape? It has pretty much been the consensus opinion that Alabama has been the #1 team in college football for the last decade plus going back to say 2000! The Decades of the Dawgs began Against Clemson in the opening game of the 2021 season. Since then Georgia has lost 2 games to the same team, the most recent by 3 points. They have back-to-back National Championships as well as back-to-back scoring records for bowl games established against TCU and Florida State! Two out of three in hand. Will they go three out of four? DOD, year 4! It's on!!!
They’re not a blue blood. might be in the future they will be, but not right now.
what? they are the only team to win a back to back national Titles in the 4 team playoff era .. yes they are blue bloods.
If UGA is not a blue blood right now, no team will ever reach blue blood status again, which renders the entire point of calling any team a blue blood obsolete. UGA is a blue blood. They are going to win more Natties in the next decade than the rest of CFB combined.

How many Heisman's does Georgia have? How many natty's do they have? How long has Georgia been winning at an elite level? And you better not say Mark Richt. How many great players does Georgia pump out every year and we're not talking recently. Is Georgia an NFL factory longstanding not recently I mean in the 80's 90's and 2000's? How many bowls championships does Georgia have in their case? Bluebloods mean long, long, long history not just some recent dominant performances. SMH

Huge dawg fans. Love them to death. UGA isn’t a blue blood 🤷🏽♂️ We’re dominating RIGHT NOW. But we don’t have a bunch of championships throughout time. That’s gotta be part of the criteria.
Let’s be honest here… Nebraska is a blue blood and they’re in the TOILET. Who tf cares if you’re a blue blood…. It really doesn’t mean anything 😂
UGA is a Blue Blood. I listed my reasons above. I'm not sure what you're criteria is. Listening to your logic I would have to assume you include Michigan as a Blue Blood. Michigan claims, without much proof, 12 National Championships. Yet 8 of those championships claimed, were before 1935. Before the AP poll even existed. Some of those championships are dubious at best. You also claim Nebraska as a Blue Blood, which they are, but they only have 5 National Championships and three of those were won in the 90s. So I don't believe Nebraska meets your "bunch of championships throughout time" criteria.
It sounds like you believe that only the five or six teams that were the most dominate before 1940 and Nebraska, count as Blue Bloods to you. That certainly isn't my view. My view is simply this: are they one of the handful of greatest teams over the history of College Football. Georgia is, and they are a Blue Blood.
@@truedawg1339 that's your opinion... youre more than welcome to have that... I also have mine. I think UGA is a GREAT team right now. I'm a HUGE UGA fan... the facts still remain... we aren't a blue blood. It also doesn't matter if you are a blue blood or not today. Very competitive teams today aren't blue bloods. You're making a ton of speculations based on a few sentences buddy... You seem very passionate about this so good on you... but don't create an argument based on things that weren't said at all... Lets see how UGA stacks up to teams that most consider blue bloods....
Nebraska does only 5 titles... They also have 46 conference championships, 3 heismans, and is 9th all time in total wins which is all more than UGA claims.
Michigan is 1st in all time wins, has 45 conference championships, 12 titles, and 3 heismans... ALL MORE THAN UGA
OSU 3rd all time in wins, 41 conference championships, 8 titles, and 7 heismans... ALL MORE THAN UGA
Bama 2nd all time in wins, 18 titles, 34 conference championships, and 4 titles... ALL MORE THAN UGA
ND T-4th in all time wins, 11 titles and 7 heismans... ALL MORE THAN UGA
Texas T-4th in all time wins, 4 titles, 33 conference championships, and 2 heismans are pretty close to UGA... But 33 conference championships and all time wins record would give them that classification as a blue blood to me.
Oklahoma 6th in all time wins, 7 titles, 50 conference championships, 7 heismans.... ALL MORE THAN UGA
Like I said I love UGA! But I also can look at where it stacks up to other programs throughout time and see that we just don't have the same domination as other programs. UGA's 11th all time in wins, 4 titles, 16 conference championships, and 2 heismans are great, but our dominance is pretty new with Kirby coming to town... Even with unclaimed natties we would fall short to other blue bloods. I'd say UGA is comfortably on top as a "New Blood." UGA has been one of the most consistent programs in history... No doubt or argument there... but if we're comparing ourselves to true bonafide blue bloods... we just aren't that.
@@consciousm1nd Okay, don't say you have your opinion and then say it's a fact. Further, what facts you do present are flawed. Georgia is 9th in all time wins and Nebraska is 8th.among FBS schools. Conference Championships mean nothing unless you consider the conference. Of Oklahomas 50 conference titles 5 were won in the Big Six, 12 in the Big Seven and 16 in the Big Eight. Same with Nebraska and their 12 Missouri Valley Conference titles. That is not the SEC, where the only program that has more titles than Georgia is Alabama.
Michigan claims, without much proof, 12 National Championships. Yet 8 of those championships claimed, were before 1935. Before the AP poll even existed. Some of those championships are dubious at best. The next two were won before 1950. Even more to the point is the fact that over the last 75 years, Michigan has won 1 National title(2023) and split one in 1998.
When it comes to both Ohio state and Michigan conference titles, the Big Ten has historically been a two team race. Not so in the SEC.
Our National Championships are equal to Texas and one below Nebraska. Over the past 50 years we have the 4th best record in CFB and more National Championships than Ohio State, Michigan,, and Notre Dame.
Lastly, I never claimed those teams weren't Blue Bloods. I just claimed we are as well. This is my opinion. My one step further opinion states your opinion is uneducated, lacks context and is probably that of a Florida fan. Not a fact, just an opinion. See the difference?
Facts bro so many casuals are obsessed with this ‘blue blood’ title as if it prevents you from winning titles. It’s just an attempt at elitism from people who like to use cfb as a weird form of escapism.
@@TheMCJ2011I would say it is more of a matter of respect and fake narratives. Let's say Georgia won the titles in 2012 and 2017. Are we even having this discussion?
