Kyra, I was doing good on my minimalist journey until I fell into a major depression after infertility. Watching your videos is helping me with my shopping habit.
I also wear socks to bed most of the time. My feet are typically so cold at night and I CANNOT fall asleep when my feet are cold so I relate to socks in bed. I always just use a fresh clean set :)
I also have acne prone, oily, sensitive skin and the only thing that’s helped me is simplifying my skincare routine. I learned that acne prone skin actually needs lots of moisture. I use dr bronners soap and a basic facial moisturizer and that’s it. I haven’t had an acne flare up in years! It’s so tempting to try all of the things and all of the skincare but for my skin using those two products and that’s it has been amazing. Less is more with acne prone skin. My diet contributes to acne flare ups as well. I used to have bad acne spots as well and since not wearing makeup and just using a basic cleanser and moisturizer, they’ve gone away!
As I got older I don’t like fragrance anymore… fragrance in my product, and perfume, and soap.. I try to buy everything fragrance free..love these kind of videos ❤️ I’m a big thrifter and here in my home town tops are $4.79 pajamas are $2.99 and they are mint, mostly good name brands like Crew , Talbots , and loft , I thrifted my whole winter wardrobe because I lost 22 lbs and needed all new clothes, I donated all my clothes and only spent $75 for an entire wardrobe I feel so bad that other states the thrift stores have raised their prices so high
I just came back from a trip. And we didn’t pay for carry-on. In my experience, they were going to charge us to check in luggage, but we were planning on carrying it on but then when we got to the gate, they made an announcement that they needed people to check their luggage and it was free. We checked in our luggage going to and coming home. So that’s a little travel hack.
Just went to Italy and we did not have to pay for our carry on luggage or personal item. Our tickets included one checked bag as well. Any more than one checked bag must be paid for. That's been my experiences.
Those sheet masks you mentioned reminded me of a cleanser by la mer. It was a sample size I got in an advent calendar so Im not too worried about wasting money on it as there were other products by other brands in the advent calendar that I like. Thank you for sharing. I do enjoy watching these types of anti haul videos.
splurging one time on luxury sandals or anything luxury really is worth it because it lasts soooooo much longer ! you get what you pay for and you won’t have to repurchase :) saves money in the long run in my opinion
A cool journal book I got off amz is called Throw It Away by Guru Notebooks. Helped me think through what I'm getting rid of to minimize and make space.
Just this week I got rid of anything that I was not comfortable in besides 2 dresses may need for a special occasion. I’d like simple, neutral a bit sophisticated. I think you touched on something. Great idea for future videos on clothing choices etc. ❤
Kyra, my hubby & I flew with Allegiant, 3 weekd ago. We both did not have to pay for our carry on bags. There is a size limit, but we didn't go over it.
I love our ‘Away’ luggage we have their carry-ons and the medium and large luggage set. The carry-on is our go to when traveling fits enough for several days or short trips and so easy to clean. Carry-on charges depend on the airline and the ticket you buy.
I have a similar style to what you’re aiming for based off previous videos! I get all my clothes from thrift stores! Yes some are pricy but I would try to look into thrift shops on not so nice sides of towns, local thrift shops or see if there’s a goodwill bins or an outlet thrift near you! Also even if one thing is pricy don’t give up looking. Last thrifting trip a saw most clothes for $13 but was able to find a beautiful trench coat for $2!! There’s always some cheap thing in there. But goodwill is pricy usually. Def look for a local shop or Salvation Army does half off clothing on Wednesdays. (I would call to confirm yours does) Having a thrifting wish list helps a lot, I feel like when I go in wanting an exact item I always get lucky finding it! Maybe I’m manifesting haha but yeah I hope you’re able to find a cheap place soon to try out a new style :)
Out of all the Pacifica items I used, Wake Up Beautiful cleanser didn’t dry out my skin. Currently using Tula cleanser, with breath of fresh air toner from Lush I spray before using the ordinary natural moisturizer. My family has told me my skin looks a lot clearer!
Kyra, I recently decluttered make up items that I just wasn’t using at all. I am also going through all my fall/winter clothes and shoes. I just wish my husband would do the same😂😂 I Much love to you and Milo ❤❤
The carryon will depend on the airline. That bag would be considered a personal item since its an underseat size and would be free on all airlines. If you had another bag, and you were traveling with a budget airline like Frontier, spirit, allegiant, etc you would have to pay for a carryon (since only 1 personal item sized bag is free, additional bags cost more). On regular airlines you can have a personal item and carryon free though, but the ticket will cost more. Hope this makes sense. My personal item sized luggage like that has saved me hundreds of $
😊Since you work from home💁🏽♀️try leisure/pj wear. Amazon has lightening deals on 2-3 piece outfits. Plus, they're comfortable. I have a few. I even run errands in them. No one looks at me funny. I actually get compliments😂
I have always used that Pacifica face wash for years too and I agree that it dries out your skin. It’s very good to use when you have a lot of makeup on. Gets your face real clean. But it is real drying. 😕
I'm not getting rid of anything. I need certain things, so I will be buying instead of decluttering. Minimalists get to this point where they need to replenish.
Costs for carryons vary by airlines. Some are still no cost. Best to always go with a smallish, light carryon. ❤️ Since the white sneakers are comfortable, can you keep them and not care about them getting dirty/worn in looking? 💗
i buy shoes from Walmart and only buy black. cause i only wear shoes for work. other than that, I wear my crocs and my boots on dates and special occasion. but I need to declutter tbh.
I had a pair of white keds on my wishlist for so long and decided to delete it recently because I realized I can’t keep up with the maintenance of keeping them white, I don’t have the time or energy for it like how I used to and decided to go with some new balances
How do you deal with family not agreeing with minimalism? I grew up in a very hoarded house with my single mother and now that I'm married with a family of my own she doesn't understand why I don't hold on to things especially things I don't need now but she feels I might need later at some point which I never do. She even buys me and my children things sometimes and tells me to make sure I keep it forever lol
In my experience my mom would buy my kids wayyyy too many toys. They would play with for a day and then months later the toys would just sit around. I would show my mom the toys that my kids chose to declutter ( I would help my kids go through their stuff) I would either take a picture or show her that the kids in the long run don’t play with most of the things she gets. I told her to be more intentional in choosing her gifts. That helped her understand a lot. It took a few years for her to get it lol good luck!
This can be a long process. I am minimalist for 8 years, my partner slowly see that when we have less staff is easier to mantain everything. I did not force on him anything. Focus on yourself
@kyra I live by the Aveeno Calm And Restore line, been using them since 2021, they have expanded the line and it has been life changing for my sensitive, combination acne prone 32 year old skin ❤
@@Living.minimal I completely understand and defintiely respect that, I wish they didn't either but unfortunately they are the only product line that truly works for me even prescription from the derms doesn't work like this particular line.
I am interested to know how you obtained these items that your now decluttering? As someone who's intentional with purchases wondered what made you choose them to begin with.
So most of these I have owned for years and as you know when the years go by you change and grow. So I guess the simple answer is that I'm still growing and learning as I age. Mistakes are inevitable.
Those types of sandals were originally called thongs until thong underwear became popular and "flip-flop" became the popular name for the sandal instead. Thongs are bad foe your feet anyway as they force you to grip best to find a sandal with straps
I am glad you don't get rid of stuff very often. I'd rather see people not buy the stuff to begin with.
Kyra, I was doing good on my minimalist journey until I fell into a major depression after infertility. Watching your videos is helping me with my shopping habit.
Sending you lots of hugs and positive energy. I feel your pain and hope all works well for you in 2024.
Blessings to you.

too be honest I only buy perfume like once in a blue moon. my perfume lasts me a while and I don't buy anymore till mines is finish.
White shoes are highly impractical. The more that is decluttered, the more room you have for stuff you really like! 🌿
Love this! The white shoe thing is too much energy!
I too do not care for anything with fragrance. Less is always more. Love the decluttering videos!
I am so happy to see that you are getting more views on your videos! 😊 Your channel is so unique and underrated. 🤍

I totally get the tight clothes! So over it lol great video Kyra.. always enjoy just hearing you talk about things no matter what it is. 😊
with light colored shoes it's best to get the pleather ones because it's so easy to clean!!!! I hate cloth shoes

Love videos like these!!!❤
You look pretty today ❤ have a great day.
The pricinggg yes! Goodwill has the same price as Marshalls and Burlington clearance section for clothing! It’s crazy
I’m from LA area and can say thrifting is expensive. At one of the thrift shops I go to, they sell SHEIN tops for 2-3 times their price
I love our ‘Away’ luggage we have their carry-ons and the medium and large luggage set. The carry-on is our go to when traveling fits enough for several days or short trips and so easy to clean. Carry-on charges depend on the airline and the ticket you buy.
I just returned from a trip on the plane and I had a carry on plus backpack and no charge for them.

Happy new year to you.

I traveled in December and was not charged for a carry on.

Milo at the end 😂😂
Will you get wardrobe pieces that are more plain or what kind of pieces do you typically look for when you get more pieces?

milo being silly at the end

Ps mile at the end so funny and cute
Where are you going to buy clothing pieces from?
Kyra try benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid for breakout prone skin. It helps a lot!
I have acne prone skin, I started using Dove Sensitive Skin Bar soap and it has worked wonders on my skin.
I spy Milo being silly at 23:53 😉
It’s so funny you called your flip flops a thong. That’s what they are called in Australia!!

I learned my lesson with that Kale Wash during the lockdown 😭
@kyra I live by the Aveeno Calm And Restore line, been using them since 2021, they have expanded the line and it has been life changing for my sensitive, combination acne prone 32 year old skin ❤
Aww I always wanted to try out Aveeno, unfortunately they still test on animals.
@@Living.minimal I completely understand and defintiely respect that, I wish they didn't either but unfortunately they are the only product line that truly works for me even prescription from the derms doesn't work like this particular line.
2:14 I would keep the shoes and just stop caring if they get dirty, personally. But that’s just me. x

White Diamonds
i hate diamonds by elizabth taylor! it's that classic "grandma" perfume thats super strong and not appealing what so ever. in my opinion hahahha
My skin hates niacinamide!
First 🩷
Thrifting is no longer affordable either lol
