One small strategy to reduce the effect of the eye of greed is to not pick up any money until you are done for the floor and want to buy anything from the store
Eye of greed proc'ed 20 times on the first floor and generated 17 coins He missed 14 procs and hit 6 He missed 70% of the power of the item and still he could've left the floor with the map and a soul heart or a spoon. The idea of the eye of greed being bad is white fever giving. And just a reminder, this is just the first floor.
Just a small note I found after he gained brimstone that makes eye of greed actually predictable. Every six brimstones procs eye of greed. Not that it helps much, due to brimstone usuallt being the ender of the enemy.

Vanishing twin form the secret room is free real estate, if you are good at the game. Synthoil from the real boss, but the Wooden Spoon sits behind Haunt’s spikes to taunt us. Floor 2 Dry Baby from the Item room is always a bro. Sack Head from the shop is an unsung hero of many a run. Double Blight Ovum is...not what I would want to see. Blue Cap & Dessert are very nice pickups here. No devil deal naturally, but the cure room TPs us in for Dark Bum & Incubus! I cannot recall if Incubus gets Eye of Greed or not? I know it was changed around but I can’t recall which way. Floor 3 Confirmed Sack head drops from Eye of Greed, very nice. I still can’t tell if Incubus interacts with EoG or not. Dead Onion from the Item Room is alright. Double Fallen is very exciting- The Pact & False PhD, but sin values higher education & leaves the latter. Stanley has a blowout sale: Sinvicta Robes, Contract from Below, & Sac Altar. We leave the altar, reroll the False PhD into Brimstone! Bro, what. Floor 4 Okay, I officially saw 2 coins fly out from that brim shot- so I think Incubus does it too & it does not subtract money from you to do it. Now, what I want is a better interaction where every 10th shot, down from 20, Eye of Greed gives you a Golden Blast that does it’s effect to all struck by the Brim beam. Double Bumbino gets blasted- Super Bandage & Growth hormones. Floor 5 Blind floor. Jesus Juice & Stem Cells from Loki. Floor 6 Negative Taken. Guppy’s Eye from Stanley & Host Hat from Boss Rush. Floor 7 Blind again. Wooo. MEAT & Glass Eye from the boss. Floor 8 1 tap son a sac room straight to dark chest. Dark Chest Pentagram & Bloody Lust are the takes. Lamb gets slaughtered. Victory Lap Floor 3 gets us a second Brimstone for Mega Brim, always nice to see. Chaos is going to make things very interesting with the twin. Jacob’s Ladder as an immediate payoff is excellent. Magic Much & the D6 are insane. The Hush fight is ridiculously quick. The chest gives up Tech 1, Mega-techstone for the end of the run. Final Verdict: 8/10. It was a very strong run, but the total insanity didn't kick in until late in the Victory lap so I feel comfy at an 8.
Sin you are using Eye of Greed wrong I personally think its a min max item where you dont pick up coins from the floor until you clear it so you can buy more instead of just burning all the coins and ending up with 0

Eye of Greed is every 20 shots lol. You def can predict when it will proc. I agree that it is difficult to get it to proc at the optimal times, but it's not unusable lol.

But considering Sin seems to be Fiend Foliod out maybe he can try "Boss Butch" adds a bunch of new bosses who aren't completely unfair and for something very unique try "The future" mod adds a new floor with custom enemies and bosses and the boiler adds a third alternative for dross and downpour again with unique enemies and bosses! Maybe add the stranger mod adds a character that is more than a dozen in one!
Imo eye of greed is probably one of the worst items in the game to me and needs a severe rework. It's a frustrating enough item I would instantly hold R.
I like eye of greed since i full clear on principle, the utility of the freeze with the semi consistent coin generation make it a solid in between of moms contact and keepers head

Hey sin, been watching for about 5 years now and I love the vids! I just want to say that I think it might be a good idea to experiment with thumbnails a bit. While I think the style you have now is great and the artist does a great job some of them don't 'scream issac" if that makes sense. Some do, but in the sense that generally it's more abstract versions of the items and my thought process is maybe someone newer/less knowledgeable with the game won't know it's an isaac video from a passing glance and won't click. Now mind you I obviously have no clue what the CTR is on these, but it just might be worth a try to see if you can maybe rope more new people in. Also want to clarify this is by no means a bash, I love the style of thumbnails I just believe there is a more simplified style you could try out.
Today I found a mod that changes the color of the question mark on blind items to the quality of the item ( if it's brimstone it would be a yellow question mark), do you think you could start using this mod? IMO it would make taking blind items more feasible and the runs more interesting to watch
