Peg Entwistle threw herself from the letter H of the Hollywood sign, and the whole first verse is written with Hs everywhere! Genius songwriting! (and dang, best screams ever)
Musically I love this song, but the lyrics are what really get me. As someone who struggles with depression and ideation, it's so fucking real; I can't get through this song without at least tearing up if I'm listening even casually. "Take from me this body, it's all that I have left" and the voice it's said in are fucking etched in my memory forever.
Amigo no se de que hablas. Todo el disco es igual. Es como una lasagna. En todo el transcurrir del disco tiene el mismo gusto. Monótono. No tomaron ningún riesgo.
@@AndeuX79 Definetly not man, composition-wise is the most impressive album i've heard from them... Sometimes the vocals can feel a bit off but it really doesn't bother me. Every riff of every song in this album is super unique and very thought out, i belive that's why it doesn't feel as if they took that many risks, the instrumental part must have taken a very long time to perfect, but yes, it does not sound as experimental as some of the other albuns. Rody's vocals have never sounded better (in my opinion, of course)
Damn the vocal session in that 'yes a blonde verse' @2:24 must have killed him. You can hear the transitions from the lows to the highs. Those were definitely not separate takes!
Divine suicide of K is one of my favorite songs by them, but the alliteration in the the first lines of this song are just sublime and the best they've done.
The origin story was already defined in a previous comment. But I first interpreted this song as an acknowledgement of women falling into drug and addiction habits that led to prostitution, and eventually suicide. I know of two young women that this story happened to, one only lived a mile down the road from me. PTH songs are always timeless and can be interpreted on different levels from different perspectives according to the listener.
Love the transfer from screaming to softer sounds towards the end. Anyone know who this one is about? I’m starting to piece most of them together through their quotes but I couldn’t find this one.
This one's about Peg Entwistle, I think - the "I'm afraid I'm a coward. I'm sorry for everything" line is a direct quote from her suicide note, per my brief research.
J B thanks! Saw a comment on another on if the songs that there is a reddit post that breaks down the themes of each song. I’ll leave it hear if I find it.

I would have never noticed this if you hadn't said that. That's brilliant song writing.
I thought I replied to this a while ago but the H is also 45 feet tall
"Halliteration"
Can't stop replaying the "45 feet through the air" section at 2:38. Such a haunting description running above one of their tastiest melodic motifs.
Been a fan of protest for years and this is one of the only times theyve ever given me such chills

You said this so perfectly I fully agree.
11/10 album of the year

I dont think im ever going to hear such a good prog album in my life.
Defo 11/10
Looks like this song is about Peg Entwistle - a woman that jumped to her death from the Hollywood sign in the early 1930's.
Most definitely! Thanks for that info. This song seemed like it was about something very specific in history
THANK YOU! It seems every song on this album is about some kind of historical event and I need a list of them lol
He has complete vocal range and I cannot get nearly enough of this album. I hear it in my dreams.
Man I hope PTH read some of these comments. Their music fuels my goddamn life. It’s so fucking excellent idk what else to say.
I can't believe there are so few comments. I listen to PTH almost every day.
@Scott Alleman I like that idea.
The instrumental section at the end of this song is so SICK
a beautiful ending for a beautiful young woman who ended her life in 1932. Peg Entwistle.
2:25 RODY YOU DIDNT HAVE TO GO THAT HARD but im glad you did
0:28 starts one of the best riffs I have ever heard. These boys have put on a damn clinic.

I love the way it sounds. I hope Choady’s able to keep his voice healthy for years to come.
From the humble streets of Toronto to the halls of metal hell. Love my home town boys.
Never stop making music, but fr doe, my happiness is dependent on if you guys make music
The one person who gave a thumbs down is flying 45 feet through the air.

That kick is kicking the shit outta me for this whole album. I'm gonna shit my pants at the live show
You'll need a mask, for your butt.
@@schloo Depends
Is nobody gonna mention the 2:38 bassline? FUCK that's a nice bassline.
Fuels my soul
The emotions in this song. Unreal. Amazing work guys!
Years ago my little brother left an mp3 of sequoia throne on my computer and I've never been the same. Protest rocks my socks off

I just want to point out at 2:25 is one of the most ridiculously awesome screams I've ever heard. Damn son!!!

3:52 also, like god damn!
@Wise Man For real? or just joking?
Hope this one gets a music video!
Hope any of them do honestly. I’m still bummed pacific myth didn’t have a single video- it’s some of my favourite stuff of theirs.
This song!...at least 6 times a day since the released the album!
4:07 outro is so beautiful
Strong Song
One of my new found love.. this band!
Vocal cords issues... yes....
my loves, flawless as usual
È bello vedere che ci sono altri italiani che apprezzano i pth lol
@@Nasocazzuto siamo in pochi?
@@_ryu__jin_ temo di sì. Ma in generale sono pochi i loro fan, meritano molta più fama.
for a while I was like Bird Problems are badass af then I found this band
Best track off the whole album.
Freaking awesome!!
By far my favorite
A comment from an episode of Somewhere Sinister about Peg Entwistle brought me here. Not disappointed 🤘🏼🎸🗣️
Just discovered the story of Peg. Reddit led me here. Good music 🎶
These are all so sick 😭😭😭😭
Huge
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH making me smile
from 4:08 to the end. It's so damn tasty
