I love how within the episode katara says “you give the world hope” and later on iroh says “the avatar gives zuko hope” I love the subtleties of character motivations. How ironic in the way the impact the avatar has on most people giving them hope and zuko in a way is feeling the same hope as them but for entirely different reasons I love that
It always gets me that Zuko was challenged to a duel over not wanting to sacrifice people needlessly. And then he is banished for not wanting to fight his father. Like how freaking cruel can you be. 😅

And the other was forced out of his home and had had a tremendous burden put on him .
12.. he is the second youngest airbending master in history. Also you either master the bending art or invent the new move. Aang invented the air scooter, that's why. spoilers for LoK the youngest is Jinora. She became master at the age of 11. And she is actually the case of mastering the art.
@@Daesma999 Well she probably only became an air master at a young age out off necessity for the air nomads, since there were not many left... So I would still count Aang being the youngest one.

I think one of the saddest thing's about Aang's story is that he ran away right after seeing Gyatso, got stuck in ice, and then woke up in Katara's arms. In his mind, like maybe a day or two had passed by the time they went to the Southern Air Temple in episode 3. If you remember, when Aang had spoken about Gyatso in that episode, Katara had said "You must really miss him" and there was that really hesitant way Aang replied "Yeah..." It kind of hits you that he had like no internal time between seeing all the people he loved to finding out they'd all been genocided.
This episode gave us three meanings: It refers to the actual storm in which the characters get caught; to the reasons for Aang's "stormy" feelings of guilt and shame; and to Zuko's "stormy" history of how and why he was banished.
You may not have noticed it yet as he only had the single line so far, but Fire Lord Ozai has a pretty distinctive voice - the legendary Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker himself (and the Joker in the classic Batman cartoon)
@@Eisen_Jaeger it wouldn't surprise me (he's in everything) but he has a much more prominent role in avatar later on too, so if he was they didn't credit him
The way that Aang was found the be the Avatar is similar to how the new Dali Lamas (basically the head of Tibetan Buddhism) are found after the previous one dies (since they believe in reincarnation as well). Fun fact: the current Dali Lama's last name is Gyatso like Aang's mentor and his first name is Tenzin which is also the name of a character from the Legend of Korra which is the sequel series.
The move Aang did to save them all at the end looks a lot like the one he used when he got frozen; it is theorized that since they're farther from the poles than Aang was the first time the water was warmer and thus didn't freeze.
