ISRO needs to understand how important PR is , it will make all the change in the government interest and the cash inflow from the government, the government does not benefit from the science , so its important to mask it with good PR too . This will not only bring in more people in it , but it will also inspire a whole new generation of young scientists. They should let the scientists do their work and have a good modern PR team like SpaceX / NASA has

Well said. Sad reality even one so-called movie about mangalayan had its own PR agendas. It's a sad state of affairs, ISRO with the right budget will aim for stars. ISRO never worked on missions for PR or competition with other nations, it's india bred. I think a more competitive nature with backing from the govt with budgets, ISRO will be on top of the game.
Last time I heard him say they are ISRO even take inspiration from spacex, but I believe ISRO has fat better talent or hirable ones with money at hand.

Gov money inflow in soace sector is not about pr bro its more about geopolitical strategic and also national cause more. Whether isro do pr or not gov know how imp isro is for the country and the budget issue may be improved in next few years

i agree, govt money inflow is just one part of it, more people knowing about the awesome stuff thats happening is more important . It will develop a overall positive mindset towards science and scientists in india. I mean look at how it has helped NASA and SpaceX. There are millions of people who dont understand anything but still follow whats happening . It will build a whole community if there are followers and viewers of some topic

A few weeks ago, he visited our institute (IIT Guwahati) during IIFS-24. We asked questions similar to the Somnath Sir, specifically about how personally he would inspire the younger generation to become a part of ISRO and what steps ISRO could take to encourage and motivate the next generation.
Unfortunately, sir did not give us any satisfactory answer. ISRO needs to realize how important PR is.
