- Dedicated to my Mom - she was diagnosed with terminal stage 4 breast cancer around the time of this trip and passed away 2 months later, on December 13, 2023 ❤️ Life is short - it's amazing how quick things can change. Tell your loved ones you love them.
In this video, we purchase a private pocket dig at Twin Creek Crystal mine, located in the Quartz Crystal Capitol of the WORLD : Mt Ida, Arkansas. This is by far, in my opinion, the BEST crystal mine in Arkansas - from the $25 area which has dozens of crystals - to the pocket digs that leave you going home with actual buried treasures. 💎
Watch as my dog Izzy and make a dream come true and dig up some absolutely stunning crystals as clear as glass, deep in the Ouachita National forest, that no human has ever seen or touched. Twin Creek is one of only a few mines that offer pocket digs, and it is the only mine that lets you keep ALL that you find, no questions asked.
Pricing starts out at $300 for small pockets with smaller jewelry sized crystals and goes into the thousands of dollars for larger pockets. This video is what you can SOMEWHAT expect from a $500-$1000 pocket IF YOU WORK HARD AND KNOW HOW TO WORK POCKETS. These are not for beginner level diggers. Contact Bobby by phone to book a pocket dig. He works all day and cell service is hard to come by at the mine so call after 5pm. 870-490-2890 . Hopefully he doesn't mind me posting his number in order to draw in more business !
Tools recommended : sledge hammers , chisels, pry bars/rock bars, small plastic pry tools, gloves, safety glasses, boots, pants, buckets, newspaper to wrap the good crystals, food & drinks, Deer Antler.
There are a few primitive campsites east and west of Twin Creek literally right down the road. The top 3 campgrounds nearby that I recommend are 1. Crystal Recreation Area, 2. Big Fir Public Use Area and 3. Hickory Nut Mountain. They are all FREE, first come first serve. 14 day maximum stay. Crystal Recreation area has a spring to fill your water jugs . It comes out cold and drinkable, not steaming hot like in Hot Springs. There is also another spring down the road at "Collier Springs". I drink it daily while in the area and fill empty jugs so I can bring some home...... $0 for drinking water all year long and we make our coffee with Ouachita natural spring water back in Illinois.

Sorry about your mom. Great video.
And great vid and I subscribe 😊
Phenomenal pieces, Jim! You got into a great pocket! I am hoping to get a pocket dig with Twin Creek around March of next year.
I am also hoping to do that around the same time and hopefully hit up Flash Mountain also!

@@dustinfindsrocks awesome!! It would be fun to get a pocket next to you and we can have a little friendly competition. 🤣
We went paid $1000 for a pocket and he never opened us a hole we got a already picked thru one. Then a hour before they closed he came and scraped the wall with his machine there was no pocket
Now I want to go here to. You find the most beautiful things. Great video!❤
Thanks. These big ones are super rare these days. All the old timers picked these places over before the trees grew mature. Every once in a while one falls out of the hill or exposes itself along a Shoreline
@@JimHerbertOutdoors made a bucket list and when you upload new places I’m like DAMN add that place. Going to Cadet in early spring. Figured everything is fresh and new. Can’t wait. The people are really nice on the phone. Thank you, for sharing your findings and all the wonderful places. Yah, you can buy pretty stones and crystals on internet or stores but what’s the fun in that!❤️
Wow! I absolutely love these crystals and that pocket!
Nice job...love the Hawks blanket👍
Thank you! I've had it since the 2013 or 2015 cup win ✌️
I have a small car, tell me, will my car get stuck on this road? Sorry for my English. Thank you
The road is rocky for the last quarter mile (a very short distance) just take it slow and cars are ok. It's not as bad as people say it is. The entrance to the mine can be slippery if it's raining
Did you have to do a private mine
This is a public mine but the bigger digs start at $300+. 👍
Dude score! See you at Haunted Ridge tomorrow!
@JimHerbertOutdoors
Nice crystals. How much did this pocket dig cost?
If u DM me on Instagram I'll tell u ✌️
Great editing! Not a lot of talking, just digging and a good follow up. Plus, as in so many adventure videos, I didn't have to watch you perpare your lunch or dinner.
Is this the standard fee dig there?
Tailings are $25, pockets start at $300 and go up from there. I don't want to say exactly how much I paid but this dig was between $500-$1000
Oh I thought they started at 100 a pocket so they are 300 now 😢
Was that pocket down below?
Yes, I worked 2 seperate pockets in the video, both were in the bottom pit. ✌️
What specimens BUT,,,,,,are you telling me you just happen to go to this location and hit these pockets of crystals???????? Not unless you know the owner or actually own the mine yourself
Somebody obviously didn't read the description. 🙄
