We didn't just get a woman in costume that was just blatantly about sex appeal, but a design that was based of proper Greek armour. They really did their homework for this film and the result was a DC film that gave a well executed origin story.
DC let Patty have full control over the movie, so she's naturally gonna use less action. But they should at least have more action, omg the movie is boring.
In the first movie, most of the action scenes were Zack snyder hands. In the 2nd movie, they let Pattie take control the whole movie. U can easily tell the difference in action scenes
There was literally not one scene in WW84 where Diana showed how great of a warrior she is, she was just defending herself and it was disappointing that Cheetah and WW played Tarzan just swing from the lasso and not actually throwing hands
For me when she blocked the bullet and said “Get In” to the village lady that’s when she became Wonder Woman to me. It’s such a small little moment but seeing her protect and shield a faceless person she didn’t even know. A total stranger, was really satisfying. A true hero protects everyone, even the ones they cannot see. And fighting alongside with Steve and the crew got me teared up. Men and women fighting together as equals, as a team, as it should be
I love how quickly steve adapted to dianas way of fighting and how quickly he reaslised that she was not a fragile little girl with crazy ideas but a fierce warrior who could totally beat him and 30 other guys in a fight by herself its awesome
The first time I watched the movie I didn't notice how at 2:37 that girl comes out to try and get Diana indoors to safety from the sniper fire. It's little things like that that make this movie great, I think. Even the smallest characters have their parts to play.
yeah, the whole atmosphere felt very real, reminding you that this really happened (without Wonder Woman, of course ^^) - that's why I could relate to it much more than to most other super hero movies
Something I noticed, is that her attacks are _mostly_ non-lethal. You can see at 0:59 that Diana flips the grip on her sword to grip it by it's _blade_ to deliver that final blow to the German. Interesting continuity I noticed. That aside, the people she hits and throws from the buildings are most likely critical, and that sniper definitely lost his free trial of life.
Bruh most of the people she hit are dead lol. You can’t get flung around that violently without being crippled. Them not dying is actually much less humane than her just slicing them up
It irritates me to be honest how many hero characters exist that use deadly weapons designed to kill like guns, swords, bows and arrows, etc and yet never actually kill anyone with them and always end up fighting hand to hand and just "knocking people out" lol
I really liked Steve's crew. They were down af, layered, and skilled... Like how the sniper gets too nervous when he gets shot at and how it was shown he has PTSD earlier when he was screaming in his sleep. I also liked how the Chief sent a damn smoke signal towards the final part.
Gunsandrosalina Padtwo Exactly, and the movie does even better by never giving him that “overcoming” moment that any less competent movie would have done. Trauma is trauma. Even if it grows better throughout the years it still will never completely go away. He has killed people, he’s had to fight in wars, of course he has PTSD. And no amount of inspiration can undo that. Even by the end of the film, he still has his trauma. He doesn’t get his special moment to shoot because that’s not how it works. This movie, although fictional, was a lot more grounded and mature in its themes and I’m glad that they stayed consistent with his character.
Your right about that. If this movie failed dc woulda been over bc justice league was trash just like all there other movies. However wonder woman is great and does totally carry there universe. To the other comment or if your trying to say marvel movies aren't good your crazy.not all of the but a large number. And there fun. Like superheroes are meant to be. That scene where Charlie has an aim on the sniper but has a PTSD panic attack and doesn't shoot is such a fantastic scene The look on his face as he trys to pull the trigger but can't cuts deep really helps show the toll war takes on some men I'm sad be didn't really get a redemption moment during the film later on but I still really enjoyed this film even if the last 20 minutes didn't make much scene
2:53 Just a kind man taking care of his friend first, a beautiful bond. I really like that even during this life or death situation he cared more about making sure Charlie was okay instead of pressuring him.
Ehh it was not that bad. I mean, the narrative was pretty weak and just kinda bleh and it could've been better, but still pretty decent. The first act was a bit too long and the second act a bit too short. And CGI was kinda flimsy at times. They really set the expectations high after the first movie and the second one failed to live up to that, but on its own it's just okay, kinda enjoyable.
@@atuljha6128 I'm not talking about the movie, the movie was bad, I'm talking about Wonder Woman, the character, they removed sword and shield, gave her lasso crazy abilities, her flying was cringy and her character was completely flipped opposite, like she refused to drink in WW1 and now she drinks in WW 2. You're right. I saw that scene too. Don't forget it also a reference where Black Widow jumps over Captain America's shield to grab one of a flying Chitauri machines for a ride in "The Avengers" movie.
Not exactly a tank. It's and armored car called the Ehrhardt (I think). It's a pretty cool but I don't think it had a cannon on the turret on top, Just an MG. So even easier for her to destroy!
@@vision5092 I somehow agree, because war movies often always are engaging. But 1984 gave off the vibe that they were trying too hard to make it look like a Marvel film, it just doesn't fit. If you think about it, Cheetah's motivation in this movie as a villain is kind of shallow and doesn't really justify his hatred against Diana, it's almost like they just included her in the script just for the sake of having a fight scene in the third act of the movie, and it wasn't even a good one.
That's when I fell in love too. Because right before that it kind of feels like the action is about to be over, due to what came before, but the she starts kicking more ass. Amazing moment!
This is what I love about this movie--Wonder Woman is clearly the powerhouse, but Steve isn't devalued. You don't need to devalue the man in order to boost up the woman. He's active, knowledgeable about the world and war, and plays an important role in getting Diana to her full potential.
Yep, Marvel loves to make their male characters look like bumbling morons in awe of their female overlords (looking at you Loki). That's why I love this movie, it shows that when men and women work together they can achieve greater things than individually.
WW84 actors did a great job...the plot was the real problem...we could just wish that it never happened 😂 I mean WW84...our expectations were high bcoz of 1st movie

Came here after WW84. I miss this badass Wonder Woman! I hope they bring back her sword and shield for the 3rd film. I'm sad that Patty fired the Stunt Team who choreographed these fight scenes from the first film that's why the fight scenes from WW84 look weak and forgettable. I love Patty but I hope she hires them back for the 3rd film if she's still going to direct it.
@@darkseid856 That's right. Because Geoff Johns co-write this movie with Patty. They need to get back Allan Heinberg (the writer of the first film) & Zack Snyder to co-write the story for the 3rd film with Patty if they want a cohesive storyline that actually makes sense. Lol.
I felt like the story from the first movie was Wonder Woman in a real world. It's a grounded and action-packed story that acknowledged real-life events while WW84 feels like a fantasy movie for kids which I have no problem with if they have done it right like Shazam.
Well, you've got to notice that CM's ppl aimed to bring forward the fact that it took place in the 90s - both in brand placement, soundtrack et al. It was a cool touch to me, at least. WW's story, mixed with the wars (like in this movie) has a more epic-fighter-vibe, and the soundtrack fits that atmosphere. I still love both, tho.
Wonder woman was a more empowering movie to be sure, Captain Marvel, that scene you are referring to though was fun and it deserved some fun music to go with the whole vibe. If they even tried that here it would have been a viewed as horrid against the backdrop of world war 1.
@@danielucha1310 the problem is theres 2 ways to play that scene. Have it play and have people in scene complain they "hate this song" and make a joke out of it, or have the character say "this is my jam" or somethin. Have it start playing on a boombox when someone hits it by accident kind of scene. Play it for laughs and edit the fight scene to go with the beat of the song. The movie did neither. It had it be just playing and it was played completely straight. When i told my sisters they had that song play unironicay in captain marvel they both said "ok wtf thats stupid" Its not like they hated the song or are even big movie buffs. Even just the idea of that they found utterly stupid.
The difference is the Captain Marvel fight scene was FAR less grave than this Wonder Woman fight scene. CM's fight was against her former team, and the whole point of it was to give Fury enough time to escape. Carol was literally toying with them - hence, the fun, funky vibe. Whereas WW is not only set in World War I, this particular scene is portraying one of the more tragic faces of the war. There has been absolutely no question that this scene should be treated with nothing less than the utmost gravity. So yea, we see the difference is: one is supposed to be fun, one is supposed to be serious.
@@onionwarrior7447 Also, Wonder Woman got some powers she never had...while Carol was jumped forward for some reason. They could have just made her strong and able to fly so Rogue (they knew they got Fox), could steal that, then have her get her powers back with the lightshow. Carol is my favourite comic character, so I don't know why they went all out to start, or how we will get the Rogue we all know and love.
The determination with which she fiercly runs in the battle, her facial expressions, the way the music kicks in, her energy and relentlessness, the sound design on how which every hit and bullet have weight, how she not just fights but also watches out for civilians. This was the best DC movie to come out in a loooong time.
So many good points on this movie: a. I like the fact that Wonder Woman has an "accent", after all she's from another island. b. The way they executed her character, she does not force "feminism". You will admire her first as a great superhero, then even more because she represented the strength of being a woman. c. Despite having "super powers", she's still grounded just like everybody else...capable of courage and doubt, strength and weakness. Everyone can relate to her struggle because it's so "human". Definitely looking forward to WW 1984!

Cheesy is one of the words banned in my world. I’m tired of sincerity being something we have to be afraid of doing. It’s been like that for 20 years, that the entertainment and art world has shied away from sincerity, real sincerity, because they feel they have to wink at the audience because that’s what the kids like. We have to do the real stories now. The world is in crisis. By Patty Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman
Tristan Lau That’s probably just the director trying to defend the movie. Like when she jumps off of an armored plate that is being held by 3 regular guys and somehow hits a church with so much force she goes straight through it and causes it to collapse. That’s cheesy action. It’s ridiculous, bizarre, and looks weird on screen. There is no sincerity there. Just a failure on behalf of the director. But the character is cheesy herself so I think she did fine with what she had. The worst thing about the action for me is the absolutely awful special effects. Everything expands and contracts and bends and breaks the laws of physics so the whole thing just looks strange.
She probably just seemed like a crazy woman in a gladiator outfit to them at the beginning of the no man's land scene. The situation likely turned out much worse for them than they initially anticipated.
Can we talk about Steve. He is literally so supportive, especially from a guy coming from the literal 1900s. He doesn't hold her back or view Diana any less them him. He knows her worth and power but still knows she can't do it alone. He has flaws but in the end he pulls a classic Steve mood and sacrifices himself, knowing she can still keep protecting and changing the world. I love him.

What I love most about this scene is that absolutely none of the men she arrived and fights with is doubting her. At all. There is no sarcasm, no sardonic remarks, no eye rolling or hand-holding. They saw in the no man's land scene that she is way more than capable of handling herself so they follow her lead. As well, they openly communicate and work together, as a team. No assumptions, no misogyny, just honest teamwork. It's a breath of fresh air and why I can't wait for both WW1984 and Black Widow.
I love how beautifully they displayed her combat training both in this battle and on themyscria, with the other amazons doing them. It shows how muvh they learn together

In terms of the comics Ares would technically be the strongest enemy any of the DCEU superheroes have faced so far, a "Skyfather" tier villain with reality warping abilities. Doomsday is difficult to categorize, though, as he's more of an unkillable monster than a traditional supervillain.
Her and Steve fighting back to back, I didn’t even noticed when she pulled in a guy, Steve knocked him out. But, something I love about this is that Steve and the crew admired Diana from the moment they saw her. They didn’t feel less than because of her abilities. Steve never felt bad or insecure when with her- his first instinct was to fight alongside her and I love that. There was no “men vs women” bullshit. Everyone worked together as a team
I love the way she fights. She’s like an unstoppable force for these soldiers, smoothly moving through them like butter. Some of her moves really display her strength, and even when she is hit, she smoothly switches to something else to take out the target.
This scene and no man's land always make me cry. Not only are men and boys told to look up to Wonder Woman, but Steve LEARNS from Diana and the Amazons to pull off the shield move! It's evidence men should also be inspired, look up to, and learn from the women and other genders in their lives. 2 really great scenes
I remember doing this stuff constantly looking at Woody.EXE before the action. Then Woody lifted me up to get Jessie and we won. Mummy couldn’t believe what she was seeing

The way they use grenades here is actually pretty accurate. The Mills bomb's effective kill radius was more than the throwing distance, so you had to chuck it into or around something and then duck.
My favorite fight scene in this movie was the lasso of truth. The way it was glowing around the dark atmosphere of war showed hope as the ass kicking entertained me so much.
2:26 I just noticed that Steve clotheslines a dude that Diana pulls with her lasso... WHILE HE'S IN MID AIR. That's impressive for a normal human, and amazing teamwork.

Men and women fighting together as equals, as a team, as it should be
totally 😊
OMG I TOTALLY AGREE WE ARE EQUALS
Agreed! I haven’t even seen the whole movie but this scene had me in goosebumps. I have never seen anything as perfect as this before.

Derek Stairs always one asshole
I love how quickly steve adapted to dianas way of fighting and how quickly he reaslised that she was not a fragile little girl with crazy ideas but a fierce warrior who could totally beat him and 30 other guys in a fight by herself its awesome
Because in that era, it's adapt or die
The first time I watched the movie I didn't notice how at 2:37 that girl comes out to try and get Diana indoors to safety from the sniper fire. It's little things like that that make this movie great, I think. Even the smallest characters have their parts to play.
I think that she tried to get to the men that got shooted by sniper but maybe u are right
No she was running to the dead body of the civilian that the sniper inexplicably targeted despite enemy soldiers firing on the Germans.
It would have been better if she spoke in the woman's language tho
yeah, the whole atmosphere felt very real, reminding you that this really happened (without Wonder Woman, of course ^^) - that's why I could relate to it much more than to most other super hero movies
The sniper is fine
A few contusions but nothing life threatening
Lost his free trial of life..I love that.
Hald swording with a thin hilt can still result in a lethal puncture
I really liked Steve's crew. They were down af, layered, and skilled... Like how the sniper gets too nervous when he gets shot at and how it was shown he has PTSD earlier when he was screaming in his sleep. I also liked how the Chief sent a damn smoke signal towards the final part.
@clit_niblr036 it's world war 1, ofc not everyone is a ruthless killing machine.
@Gunsandrosalina Padtwo Loved your break down of the character. I feel the story was realistic and less cookie cutter because of these small details.
@Gunsandrosalina Padtwo i think this guy takes character development too literally
clit_niblr036 how would you write him then?

Absolutely agreed, idk why she did that my only problem with the action in the first movie was the overuse of slow mo, it made some scenes less fluid,

Captain Marvel fight background: plays "just a girl"
Wonder woman fight background: Brilliant Hans Zimmer's score
See the difference?
When i told my sisters they had that song play unironicay in captain marvel they both said "ok wtf thats stupid"
Its not like they hated the song or are even big movie buffs.
I mean damn, Wonder Woman was a dream come true and Gal Gadot was a literal goddess in this role, she embodied WW and everything she stands for. This was the best DC movie to come out in a loooong time.
So many good points on this movie:

That’s probably just the director trying to defend the movie.

@@bipulsingh5553 yeah dude.WW is the 2nd best DCEU movie after ZSJL
1:40 the way she rams in that small tank or wuteva and fking throws it after gives me goosebumps everytime!
She looks majestic on top of that tower, like she has won 💯 battles
When I first saw that scene I thought that the message was: "The First Superhero"
Wonder Woman is so powerful and strong she will deafeat anyone she faces
In terms of the comics Ares would technically be the strongest enemy any of the DCEU superheroes have faced so far, a "Skyfather" tier villain with reality warping abilities. Doomsday is difficult to categorize, though, as he's more of an unkillable monster than a traditional supervillain.
@@AKSBSU Wonderwoman get wrecked by most of Superman's enemies come on: Darkseid, Cyborg, Doomsday, Parasite
The same supervillains also give Superman lots of problems, so I'm not sure where you're going with that.
@@AKSBSU they don't wreck him though, and I don't think they're god level except Darkseid, I think Superman wrecks Darkseid most times
That's Wonder Woman to u sir!!
Alice Alice I like her theme that theme music don't you in 0:57
Alice Alice 、日本のTV番組に、変えて下さい。
Alice Alice 、日本のTV番組に、変えて下さい。
Nobody is gonna talk about her damn kickass theme
God that Soundtrack
Don't tell DT's Korey Goodwin you like the soundtrack 😂
I love the way she fights. She’s like an unstoppable force for these soldiers, smoothly moving through them like butter. Some of her moves really display her strength, and even when she is hit, she smoothly switches to something else to take out the target.
And her theme is back :')
Wonder Women > Captain Marvel
Definitely
Yes. WW is confident because she's comfortable with herself. Marvel is proud because she isn't.
Obviously
All objective criteria contradict that.
Mickey E ha! you are all over the comments section I see 😂. This movie got 90% audience approval compared to CMs 77% so I think that speaks for itself
In BvS and ZSJL, she also denied to drink. What a role model for young girls and everyone in general. Huge respect!
Ngl she probably should drink considering she’s Greek and all
This scene and no man's land always make me cry.
When it comes to origin story, DC is the best..
Marvel to me is the best, but I have to agree with you there. DC Knows how to write their stories.
@@ValentinaMcCormick Wish they can do that in Justice League
D.C. is amazing, they just need better directors and producers. The Dark Knight trilogy, Wonder Woman and The Joker are D.C.’s best movies. But, any true D.C. and Marvel fan can confirm that D.C. has the better tv shows and animated series, especially when it comes to Batman
Batman under the red hood is an Amazing example, it’s a Masterpiece
@@whosaprettykitty5076 aquaman better than all of them.
This scene alone is much better than the entire Supergirl TV series
this scene budget was probably higher than the budget of the whole supergirl tv series
near lol that series is for kids under 5 😂
@Kleo
Said noone ever
the fighting, the music, the BEAUTIFUL goddess. i’d say this scene definitely embodies the complete AWESOMENESS and EMPOWERMENT that is Wonder Woman.
0:52 i cannot stop rewatching that move🙌🏾
Most bad ass theme music every.
No
As of recent, no other female superhero/female comic book character has had a fantastic standalone live-action film like this one. Not even the second installment of WW, which is sad because it’s supposed to be either up to par with the first one or even better than the first.
Old movie rule: Sequel 'n' is 1/n as good as the original. This may explain the Star Wars sequel trilogy's problems - 1/7 to 1/9 as good as the original? Better to stay at home!
Her usage of the lasso of truth was definitely reminiscent of the wonder woman I loved watching.
She killed the building and there was not a single dirt in her face.
Wonder woman. Hello? She a god
thats to show she is the goddess not real human
Ww is a goddess
Because of invulnerability due to being a goddess.
@@TehNuTTTer it's well established that magic repels dirt. Watch Lord of the Rings.

I saw this movie in theaters and I remember being in literal awe that Wonder Woman was invincible (I was 6/7 so it my first time seeing the character)
