the tip about making yourself look annoying to kill works at lower tiers too if you notice a player bee lining in your general direction and you dont want to fight them and are in a plane that has a similar or faster top speed turning away from them will usually cause them to break off and go for a target they can kill faster but this probably wont work if this is a player you have killed earlier in the game or if it is someone that you have killed in matches repeatedly in the past or you are in a really good plane and it is a high level player that just wants your plane out of the game

Hey there, Aoeilaeiepae, ( if I spelled that correctly ) I just gotta say: Your content is awesome and you've helped me learn quite a bit, as recently I've just got my first ever 8 kill Air Arcade game, by using the tactics you taught in some of your guide videos.
I feel the arguement of "Arcade takes no skill" is in itself a sad way of saying that you dont have the skill to play Arcade well. Skill is subjective; just because you're skilled at RB doesn't mean it will transfer to AB or SB. For example, I wouldn't attempt some of the turn fight maneuvers made here in RB because I know full well that the Phantom variants in RB are flying bricks at lower speeds, and at high speeds you black out too easily. However, in AB blackout isnt as factorable at high tier, so i can afford to be more aggressive. AB focuses its skill point on player manipulation and trickery, while RB builds on this by overcoming the fear of being downed early and taking gambles you feel will bring you closer to victory. Its why you see RB players who are in Aggressive aircraft play conservatively and players in conservative late match aircraft play aggressively; They dont have the foundations built on by AB and are now panicking in RB, making for free targets. People complain in RB because some aircraft (AHEM F104A AHEM) totally break this dynamic by being aircraft that is good enough to not really ever feel at risk, causing them to always take good attack options. And I learned the hard way, grinding the entirety of the german air tree before trying top tier air AB, and guess what? I got SLAUGHTERED, because my knowledge of AB relied entirely on RB tactics that simply dont work in AB. That being said, Aoeilaeiepae, I have a challenge for you (though in honesty its more like a point to prove your audience lol). You should take out one of those ludicrously powerful aircraft that break Air RB (such as the F104A Starfighter) or underpowered aircraft (such as the F3h-2 Demon)into an RB game and prove to your audience this concept. Good video!
I was watching some of your videos to see if anything could be used to become even more of a menace in DCS but everything about how you fly fits so well with how the SU-27 is meant to be used, hide in a valley and shoot an enemy jet from underneath before they even know you are there. Yeah the Ofira Air Battle. That actually happened on the exact same day lol. They both happened due to surprise attacks on the first day of that war. Technically, they weren't kurnass 2000s, they were just normal Kurnasses. And the guys at Ofira fought 28 planes, but were only credited with destroying 7 and damaging 2. They did, however, kill the President of Egypt's brother, who was one of the attacking pilots.

I have a request good sir I've just started playing TTAA from ARB because of you + rewards are sooooo much higher, and learning is fun. Playing the SU17M2/M4 and mig 23, fighting against F14/15/16 and even grippen spam. I'm grinding from stock meaning 2 missiles per reload and in downtiers I've had a couple of 12-15 kill games but uptiers I'm lucky to get 1-2 per life... And even phantoms become a problem when there's 8 of them and you don't have countermeasures on a flat map. The problem is almost entirely on flat maps, Any suggestions or per chance a video covering fighting those planes on flat maps? Even when I see the missiles coming 6km out 1/4 the time I can't get rid of them and another 1/2 the time getting rid of one missile earns me 3 more from the same guy
You can cover a lot of distance quickly. On a flat map, you need to have zero aversion to flying really far away from other players. You simply outrage them when you're reloading. Also, it's hard to get a radar lock on you when you're close to the ground. For all the people who are like "Y0u N33D to N0tch", thats tricky on the best of times and doesnt work if two people shoot radar missiles at you from different angles. The best way I've found to dodge radar missiles on a flat map in practice is to hit the deck and fly directly away from the missile. This works REALLY well if there are trees. You want to Bob and weave up and down over or around individual trees lol. From most angles, that makes it damn near impossible to hit you. Missile is gonna lose track, or have a tree set off its proximity fuse. Remember, a lot of "flat" maps have small hills or ridges - if someone is directly behind you, you can actually use those to dodge missiles lol. The only true Flat map imo, is one of the water maps.

Biggest impact: Removing the Su17-m4 I went from games of almost all F16/15/14 with the odd grippy to maybe 1-2 in a match... INSANE difference, 1-2 kills per to avg being 7 with a few lows where I cooked it and a few 15+ Second: I was flying just a little too close to the enemy while reloading 5-7km felt good but problem is I was having people get 1-2km closer before I noticed they hated me, and that was too close so I increased that distance a little and started flying offset rather than parallel so that my distance was slowly increasing rather than almost static, big difference Flying in the trees simply wasn't working against those planes/missiles because they're always high from spawn and while notching should work, it hasn't worked properly in WT as long as I've played it. A perfect notch + chaff should almost always kill the lock of everything bar maybe an F15 but here that ain't it... Additionally here even if lock drops re-acquisition is near instant I'll have to pay more attention for the small ridges when I truly get hard focused because mostly I've been trying to gentle climb and use the powerful ruski engines to drag em into my team I do love my in the trees flying but there's something weird with the mig's rudder that leaves me a bit too uncomfortable weaving between them, it likes to wobble sometimes and I've not quite figured out why yet
You did the biggest brain move that other players fail to grasp once they transition to Cold War/Modern planes: using the plane as it was intended. And I don't mean that in a sarcastic or downplaying manner. The F-4 Phantom airframe was, at its core, an interceptor roleplaying as a strike fighter well before the term 'strike fighter' was a thing with the F-15 and F-18

I watched your videos and now I regularly get 3 or more kills with my Mig23 duo (great improvement from a KD of 0.8) Can you do some videos on realistic battles as well? Other youtubers weren't helpful tbh.
“It’s not the jet it’s the pilot” but the phantom is such a brain dead jet to use. Majority of US tech in War Thunder does the thinking for the operator, making them dumber when their equipment is outsmarted. If you can notch missiles, retain energy, and conserve ammo & countermeasures, you’re unstoppable. I shit on F4, F5, F15, and F14 pilots all the time in my Mig23. They’re not good pilots the majority of the time. Very little gamesense when they think their Aim7Fs and Aim9Ms are capable of winning the game for them.
I was wondering if you have any tips/gameplay for low tier? (Semi new player to this game it feels pretty hard to learn what I should be doing in these low tier games)
I have noticed more people using terrain masking for sure. Vast majority of people don't use it yet, but they will have to learn when SPAMRAAMS come out. You can generally surprise people by going up and over the cover, and then firing down onto them - that's the typical countermove.
I think I understand why people say TTAA takes no skill - I think its the flight performance and the lead indicator since thats what is harder in realistic. Whereas they dont realise the crazy skill you need in positioning and so many other things. Too hard for me, ill stick to RB lol
I can tell you that in the recent days I‘ve seen quite a lot of GUUD and friends playing in Air RB and they are absolute dogwater. Barely over 1 K/D in their top tier jets but talking shit in all chat like they are gods and teamkilling every lower rank jet the second they leave the runway.

Majority of US tech in War Thunder does the thinking for the operator, making them dumber when their equipment is outsmarted. If you can notch missiles, retain energy, and conserve ammo & countermeasures, you’re unstoppable.
I shit on F4, F5, F15, and F14 pilots all the time in my Mig23.
They’re not good pilots the majority of the time. Very little gamesense when they think their Aim7Fs and Aim9Ms are capable of winning the game for them.

I have noticed more people using terrain masking for sure. Vast majority of people don't use it yet, but they will have to learn when SPAMRAAMS come out. You can generally surprise people by going up and over the cover, and then firing down onto them - that's the typical countermove.

I think I understand why people say TTAA takes no skill - I think its the flight performance and the lead indicator since thats what is harder in realistic. Whereas they dont realise the crazy skill you need in positioning and so many other things. Too hard for me, ill stick to RB lol

I can tell you that in the recent days I‘ve seen quite a lot of GUUD and friends playing in Air RB and they are absolute dogwater. Barely over 1 K/D in their top tier jets but talking shit in all chat like they are gods and teamkilling every lower rank jet the second they leave the runway.
Aoe is hard to not like. All the taunting isn't really toxic because he's got the skills to back it up.
