for 6 years I was fighting a demon that trying to destroy my health and at my weakest moments with what little energy I had, this song gave me the strength to fight and take back what cancer was trying hard to take away from me.
Giuseppe Scrofano 10 years ago this was my fight song against opiate addiction. This song was the fuel to my fire that led me back to the source of all victory, Jesus Christ.
I don't understand the comments saying this video is cheesy. If you don't like the actual music video, watch a lyrics scroller. I think the video is great for what it contributes to the song. It's not about making a standard cool music video with CXS IMO. The point in anything Rogue has a hand in is in showing the power of WILL and our ability to rise above. He does this by showing his own will and that takes guts. To just come online and say the video isn't good, you may as well say the very things that are considered quality in the music aren't as important when represented visually. To me they are one and the same, intrinsically.
This video is actually very well done. It has "re-watchability" which one wants in a video. I don't understand what anyone would have to complain about unless they think they could do better...
@TheJOKERevealed I recently got out of the Air Force and I saw them but didn't realize it was them at Dragon Con last year and I was so bored waiting to start College and decided to walk to a club to get a drink, and I met them "again". They're great and really nice folks. If any of y'all are reading this it's Richard.
Not my ONLY favorite line that he's ever written, but definitely in the top three, "The future belongs to the brave..." can't beat that with a bat... :-D
The first time I saw this vid, I thought to myself, "lol, these guys suck." Fast forward three weeks later, I watch this video at least once a day, then I go watch "Birthday"
I don't care what anyone says. Loved them at first listen and I still love them. And since when do people use comments for videos to immaturely fight back and forth. Like with all things in the world some people like them and some don't. Just because someone bad mouths a band I love doesn't mean they suck or that I'll stop liking them. It's just their opinion, neither right or wrong. LOVE YOU CRUXSHADOWS!!!
They were amazing at Amphi festival this year. Wanted to catch there show in Newcastle for 2 gigs in a week but it was the day I returned home. Great live performance and great stage presence as you say. Perfect
wow I can't believe his hair is actually made of pixie sticks. but for real everything about this song just flows passion and strength from source. I love how quite a few cruxshadows lyrics have a lot of profound spiritual references and it's not often that I find I can connect with gothic music on a deeper level like that. reflecting on the human condition and experience in a way I don't hear as often. messages of hope, faith, wisdom, personal discipline, devotion, occult secrets, prayer, emotional connection, universal law, divine actualization, communion with spirits, and a path of light most of all.
Definitely a song for Alchemists and not; alike. The magic of this song is astounding. The reassurance to all magi that they are not alone, nor have they ever been or ever will be. "...Perception works it's alchemy..." Thank CXS for such a strong and important message with "Quicksilver".
Why, because I unscrupulously pointed out a trivial detail such as you calling yourself an elf, while you unscrupulously pointed out a trivial detail that I call myself a magi? If you really wished to know what world I lived in, you would have asked with curiosity, rather than ridicule and pompousness. I'll tell you; I live in a world where everything is magic. And I, a magician. Label me a fool, thusly. :-) Laugh at the fool for wanting to enjoy this small but expansive gift he's been given called, "life". I will be sure NOT to do the same to you. :-(
@Prepare4Buddha this was a single/EP they released last year (2010). on the disc included the original song, the video/radio mix, and the dancefloor transformation mix. Also on the disc was avalanche and roland, two additional new songs.
I saw Cruxshadows & I think I talked to someone in the band there in Atlanta Georgia @ Dragoncon 1999 so long ago (Love the cheese video reference LOL it's a bit funny But I seriously LOVE Cruxshadows are fracking awesome. Did anyone realize recognize The Matrix look This is one tough high energenic bad ass tune great lyrics & the sound jams Just weeks ago I started watching these great videos songs for the first time Glad I'm reconnected w/ Cruxshadows # DJ Scary Gary

Don't know that many songs of them YET, but they're so empowering! Especially Rogue. Man, you should've seen them @ Amphi Festival, incredible, so much better than my expectations!!
I thought I would spontaneously combust when I saw them playing this music video in Journeys a while back. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW KE$HA CAN COME OUT WITH CRAP AND CXS NOT BE AMAZINGLY FAMOUS!!! THEIR lyrics have substance!
This is one of my favourite vids/songs by these guys-they are simply awesome. As far as what specific genre they belong to, who gives a shite? They make fantastic music that is WAY above the bloody stupid sods currently polluting most of the music scene. Enough said?
"The future belongs to the brave" ❤️
Another masterful performance by the Cruxshadows, too bad about the circumstances that were the impetus for this one.
for 6 years I was fighting a demon that trying to destroy my health and at my weakest moments with what little energy I had, this song gave me the strength to fight and take back what cancer was trying hard to take away from me.
+Debra Champeau ya I'm good thank you for asking.

I hang out with these guys every week! The Male violinist and the keyboard player are good friends of mine! So stoked to see them on HuffPo.
The first time I saw this vid, I thought to myself, "lol, these guys suck." Fast forward three weeks later, I watch this video at least once a day, then I go watch "Birthday"
Lol, my brother listened to this group before I got into them. I got into them when I got a sampler cd and it had Birthday on it.
I don't care what anyone says. Loved them at first listen and I still love them. And since when do people use comments for videos to immaturely fight back and forth. Just Brilliant! I Just Can't Get Enough! Thumbs Up!!!
I met Rogue many years ago and I asked him what hair products he uses and he said lots of freeze spray and it takes him an hour of maintenance 🖤👍🏼
I have loved this band ever since I listened to them first. They are an amazing band :)
Oh Jen and Johanna you guys look great!! Both of you are awesome and love you guys!
This song and winterborne are helping me through some tough times currently. Thank you.
Hope you are doing well in 2022?
I f*ing love this song. It's so powerful, short, and packs a punch. It's not my only favorite CXS song, but one that I really love :-D
They were amazing at Amphi festival this year. Wanted to catch there show in Newcastle for 2 gigs in a week but it was the day I returned home. Great live performance and great stage presence as you say. Perfect
Wish I could LIKE this every time I watch it.
Nearly Two Decades of great music and concerts.
Besides my great love for this song and the pure cheese of this video: I also love the violinists' Papillon look
Vintage 80s music video. Love it!

I adore the group, the video and this music. Thanks.

Fantastic video. Suits the band and their imagery very well. Excellent Job!!
Absolutely LOVE this! Fantastic song and video. Enough said.
Rogue's a nice guy, but yeah, his hair is the sort of thing physicists could study in their spare time :)
Amazing hair he has!
I wonder how he does it?
I adore this group. Good video. Thanks.
One of the greatest artifacts from the 'oties.
Great music and great Groupon
Cruxshadows at the top of their form!
The keyboard player is dancing like she should be in a shampoo commercial.
Rogue. I love you. You guys are awesome. Never a bad song to be had from you. Keep it up!
i cant stop listening to this -.-
love this song!
Wouldn't surprise me, Rogue is quite an intellectual and most likely open to non-harmful psychoactives
This is seriously my new favorite song!
I love the fact that Rogue has the hair and make-up but also wearing a suit and tie for this! I didn't notice that before...
wow great song and video! i love cruxshadows ♥
Love it!!!
I really love them, their music, videos, style...everything about them is amazing! (and I love the dress that the keyboardist is wearing)
WOW is all i can say , love it
Great job!

Thank CXS for such a strong and important message with "Quicksilver".
Hahah 'magi'. In what kind of fantasy world do you live?
I could ask you the same, "Elf Monster".
:-)
Evan K And I'd answer you: in the real world. And you?
I would say; "I didn't know elves were real." xD
Why, because I unscrupulously pointed out a trivial detail such as you calling yourself an elf, while you unscrupulously pointed out a trivial detail that I call myself a magi?

This is wonderful. I have loved this band for a long time but have found their videos a little lacking. Absolutely beautiful!
I love all of these people so much; even when I'm critical, I still admire and understand what they do :-D
We brace before the fates descending
With resolution never ending
As Nike stands her shield before me
Sophia guide my hand
Wow, amazing video! I've watched it three times just now. Rogue never ceases to surprise and delight my ears. :)
Rogue this is my favorite song from you guys! Right up there with Winterborn!
@shahboz
I know it was only that one small change, but I was still curious. And great job on the video, I love it
This is my current favorite video EVER. Rogue is just too sexy and charismatic, mere words don't do him justice. I love CSX!
Great!!
the settingb is so beautiful as well, it really beckons one to dive into it and enjoy and forget everything around one and just dance:)
gothic bands often have a hard time coming up with anything good for music videos. good work guys.
This is great, its like a flash from my local goth/ synth club before it went all pop. I miss those days! Lovely video.
This inspires me.
miss walking into the marriott and hearing this song at 3 in the morning
En vivo son espectaculares y muy cercanos, uno de los conciertos que mas he disfrutado!

Drac og fans remember being introduced to these guys way back in the day ahhh memories
Amazing voice.
The Dancer yes and what a beautiful couple :D
This is the final cut... Only minor changes plus the one extra shot of Jessica as the 3 Fates.
As far as how I got it... well, I made the video ;-)
@Prepare4Buddha this was a single/EP they released last year (2010). on the disc included the original song, the video/radio mix, and the dancefloor transformation mix. Also on the disc was avalanche and roland, two additional new songs.

Mercury/Hermes: One of my favourite patrons.
Yes...
Don't know that many songs of them YET, but they're so empowering! Especially Rogue. Man, you should've seen them @ Amphi Festival, incredible, so much better than my expectations!!
+Tim Van Caelenberge you should see them in a small venue, its so personal fantastic entertainers

They were on the Gothic cruise?! I knew I shouldve went that year!
Love these guys for the cheese videos.
This is my favorite Mage the Ascension song, and while that may not seem like much, it's a *lot*.
I'm taking it all back
Good music to build characters to. I've got an ex soldier on the run who uses this as his core mood song.
Música foda, grupo foda!
@SpecialKay666 It's in there and noticeable, though she mostly plays along with one of the synth melodies so I can see why it would go unnoticed.
This is one of my favourite vids/songs by these guys-they are simply awesome. As far as what specific genre they belong to, who gives a shite? They make fantastic music that is WAY above the bloody stupid sods currently polluting most of the music scene. Enough said?
An independent wrestler named Temple Rain, from central illinois, brought me here. SUPPORT INDY WRESTLING!
i miss walking into the marriott and hearing this song at 3am
@RobWyld Thats Rogue for ya :)
JoHanna just looks SO SERIOUS in this. David kinda looks like he's lost in a dream. I don't recognize the guitar player. Who is she? Excellent video.
0:45 reminds me of the beginning of the ballad of mona lisa by panic at the disco
