- Here it is. The highly anticipated video for The Cruxshadows' new hit song "Quicksilver". In late November of 2009, "Quicksilver" reached the #1 position on the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Sales Chart as well as the #2 position on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales Chart.
Marc Shahboz, who also directed The Cruxshadows' "Immortal" video, returns with his crew of talented video and digital artists to create a masterful work of moving images. Primarily in black and white, the video uses splashes of red to reference the red gas released when mercury (quicksilver) changes state. In literature, as in alchemy, mercury (quicksilver) symbolizes an immediate change, and it was believed to represent to many ancient mystics the mechanics of the soul when it adopted a decisive new direction, or a complete change of heart. The red smoke serves to tie together the various visual elements of the video. While the band primarily performs with instruments, the elaborate use of symbols, textures, color splashes, and motion generate a rich tapestry of aesthetic depth, all the while remaining relevant to the lyrics. You can see clearly frontman Rogue really means every word he sings.
The video is at once meaningful and calculated, while remaining accessible and dynamically true to its subject matter. Despite a bold use of digital manipulation, it manages to bring classical visual elements into direct harmony with the tools of modern film making.

"Quicksilver" Trivia-
•This is the first time Rogue appears performing with Cruxshadows while wearing a tie.
•At the time the video was shot, there was only one dancer for the band, Jessica.
•The video was shot entirely in front of a green-screen in Gainsville FL. The floor was also green-screen material which was near impossible to dance on.
•The footage of the band was shot immediately after returning from their performance onboard ship in the Caribean while headlining the Gothic Cruise.
•Cassandra Luger appears in her first CXS video. She is playing a Daisy Rock guitar. Incidentally, Daisy Rock Guitars became a sponsor of the band just after the video was filmed.

I love them so much. They truly deserve all of the fame they have. They are such good people and really do care about their fans. They have my respect, and very few do.
You are not wrong, I’ve seen Rogue do a show w a sore throat, you could def hear the struggle but he did a great job, still stood out for all the fans to get autographs tho you could tell he just wanted to rest, also the music is real and positive? What’s not to love???
Beautiful. I'm currently in therapy and this song is about exactly what I'm attempting to do now. Retake my life, recover the memories of my life I've lost/repressed, and fight back against the past and forces that have kept me in a prison of my own mind. I'm coming to believe it takes bravery and strength to accomplish this. As such, my gratitude to the cruxshadows is overwhelming. They are one of the few things that let me barely withstand the panic attacks I continue to experience

Was thrilled to find this video tonight. I love it! It's very arty, very classy. I would say the best Cruxshadows video I've seen. Saw the band at Islington Academy on Saturday night. My first CXS gig and I went alone as none of my friends have heard of them. Don't know what they're missing do they? I had a fantastic time. Rogue sang to me briefly and I got to talk to him after the show. What a lovely, lovely guy! Hope they return to the UK very soon. Can't wait for the new album.
Great effects timed to the music. The pause and scream after 'see the angel's eyes transform!' was amazingly done.
I watched this repeatedly when it came out, I can't believe how long it's been. Watching it now really takes me back. It's still as good as ever, but now it has so many strong emotions attached to it I can't even describe. It's funny how much something like this can mean to a person.
At about 1.50 he shows symbol for planet Mercury. Also he speaks of Nike and Sophia, Greek goddesses of victory and wisdom respectively
I enjoy watching CXS in person so much I felt the need to see what they can do for a music video. For any that missed the news; the band returned to the USA from Europe just before Christmas 2009, stopped to eat in Brooklyn & when ready to leave found they were robbed of most of their equipment and computers. Totally freakin cool. A tribute to the skill that is Cruxshadows. I have been a listener for years not out of loyalty but out of constantly WICKED COOL MUSIC. LIVE LOVE BE BELIEVE FOREVER!!!

I prefer these kinds of video where the band plays the song with a few visual images that are in "tune" with the song. I also like concert footage.
I think this video was the right way to go. But videos are purely subjective so my opinion doesn't hold much weight compared to what the artist wishes to do with his or her music.

You just dont understand the full meaning of the videos, yeah it doesnt really have a point at least on the one space ship video, but if they made the video how your supposed to percieve it, then they would be deciding how to interpret the song for you....
