That is some amazing shop space. Can’t wait to see it all come together for you, my friend. Especially can’t wait for that studio. Then we can try for some video editions of our podcast, CanAm Soup. For the money, it is the best podcast you can listen to. Now I have to get to work on my shop. 👍🏻
Hey Jeremy! Congrats on the shop! I got a big shop, but that's a BIG SHOP!! LOL If you aren't doing any super heavy duty stuff, might I recommend to get you started, a couple sheets 3/4" plywood and lay a 1/8"(10 or 11ga.) sheet on top of that. Much cheaper and if you build it well and brace it well, it with be nice and flat. Over the last 15 plus yrs in my shop, I've had a 4x4, 1/2' thick weld table, a 10x5, 1" thick slotted table, and my current table is about 3.5' x 5', 3/8" thick. I like it the best. Big enough to fab on, but not so big it becomes another flat surface in the shop that's covered in stuff. I have 6" steel castors on it that flip up via a lever. If you want to splash out a bit, get a 1/4"- 3/8" 4x4 top and flush bolt it to the double plywood sub surface base. Plenty of weight. But 4x4x1/8" would be a good budget starter too. :) Just need to take it easy with tacking things down so it doesn't get warped. But you could also drill some holes in a grid through the top for 1/2" or 5/8" bolts, or for using hold-downs, like wood workers use. I have pipe clamps that go through holes and clamp stuff down as well as Quick Grips that have the static end removed and a bolt welded to them for clamping stuff down when needed. But often a few heavy "third finger" hold downs are enough for most jobs. 😁👍
@@jeremygoertz Good place to start. Also have to factor in what kind of things you're welding. Some things it's fine to just clamp the ground right to the work piece. For me, doing semi-production metal art, I need the whole table to act as a gound, so I clamp to the top as I can keep adding each piece, move/flip the piece around without having to muck about with the ground clamp. More efficient for that type work. You'll get the Karen's panicking about the wood catching fire. But I've actually tested both welding beads on sheet, on top of wood and shooting full power angle grinder sparks at a sheet of plywood. Nada. Just lightly scorched surface wood. Not even close too catching fire. 👍
So happy for you. What an amazing property. I specially like the bike room, the motorcycle area, the car lift, and room for your knife shop and a wood shop. I could live in that space. What a dream shop space. I also like the trees lining the property and the driveway. Beautiful. Such a contrast to your family living out of an RV while you built your last place.
Anyone else wondering what kind of business his parents are in? 🤣🤣
Now I see why you're moving 👍
No kidding, that place is amazing.
Yeah thanks man. I’m super pumped about it👍
If the kids like rock climbing you should do some rock walls in the upper barn room

Yeah buddy!!’
Absolutely stunning. What a beatuiful opportunity. Congrats.
Thank you! I’m pretty stoked! 👍
Man that place is a game changer!! I don't think you'll run out of room if you tried!!
Nice stuff and I ain't no clown-donkey.
Thanks! 😆👍
Nice! Where abouts you located. My Grandfathers 1913 homestead was near Bearberry...taking a trip back to check it out this summer.
I’m outside of Calgary 👍
A metal grinding/cutting room would be a really good thing with a good vent system. Sorta like Alex Steele has got in his US shop.
Yeah I am thinking of doing something like that.

Right on! Great ideas there. I was looking at the price of a metal table and I think I’m go with a wood one to start 👍

So much room for activities!
Yeah!👍
Great looking shop.
Thank you!
beautiful proprety, looks pretty quiet and private
Thank you! Yeah it is very nice. It’s on a hiway but with all the trees the traffic noise isn’t too bad and no one can see to the house or the shop.
Dude.... thats not a property. That's a compound! Can't wait to see what you accomplish with an exciting new and creative workspace.
Thank you!
Love the new place! Congrats!
Thank you so much! I’m super pumped👍
Looks like some amazing spaces for all that you do. Congrats!
Thanks! I’m super stoked 👍
Happy for you Jeremy. Lots of good reasons to move. I would do it just for the barn hockey.
Thanks! Yeah the kids are having a blast already!👍
Amazing piace 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Ok , off the subject of the whole video, lol what are the skinny trees in front of the barn? My parents had them in their back yard.
I have no clue. Weird.

Such a great space...... And a dedicated bike room does not suck, sir. Congrats!!!
Thanks. I am super stoked! 👍
