wow!! your videos are so instructive! most of the makeup tutorials in youtube are the same style, you're one of the only ones i see something totally different and with very easy steps, im really dying to try a lot of the looks on your videos! keep it up, im a fan now!
I just found your channel today and now I'm binge watching all your historical makeup looks. You are AMAZING!!!! I am so mind blown it isnt even funny. The Marie Antoinette is definiteöy my favorite so far. I had forgotten how much I loved history.. Now I want to go read a history book. Thank you so much for these videos!!
Woooo Hooo! I've been waiting for this one as I just KNEW you'd look adorable with this look. Twiggy was (and still is), as my Mom would say, "Cute as a button!" as are you and you did an amazing job capturing the look even down to the chalky pink lipstick look. After all, it was allllll about the eyes back then. Thank you, you made my day.
I was just binge watching some of ur older videos and I have to say I love ur style of videos Zabrena ...always different and very informative....btw I love this look and the hair looked super cute too!!
my oh my I have been waiting for this look! it's AMAZING! I would love to see you do a Geisha inspired historically accurate/transformation look! thank you so much for this xo
Hey there, I was recently doing some research about the 60s (to plan a 60s themed wedding). Therefore, I stumbled upon your tutorial. Really well done.
Oh my goodness!! I've seen a couple of vids from this series so far, and they are so good... Not only does the makeup look amazing, but you've incorporated the styling to your entire look. Thank you for putting in this hard work!
I just watched all of the Madmen series, I am crazy over this time period. So much was going on politically, socially and fashion wise. A few years ago I went to a Halloween party dressed as a go go dancer, wish I new about this type of make up back then. thank you for the tutorial insight. Great Videos.
Loved this! I remember I was about 11 and I got my hands on liquid liner, mascara and white frosted lipstick. I definitely drew on my lower lashes. I thought I was so fab. My friends called me spider eyes. Thank you for this ⭐️
Love these historical videos!! Anything you can do on ancient beauty is going to have me hooked even more! I am an esthetician and nail tech and I love learning the beginnings of anything in the cosmetology department and sharing it with my clients! Thank you so much for doing this series!
the mod look is my FAVORITE, the music makes this video, i love it SO MUCH and will definitely be incorporating techniques from this into my everyday looks!!! thanks so much! 💄💖💄💖
Love this look. When I went to see the man from uncle all I could do was look at the mod make up and admire cuz of this vid. I'd love a video with lipstick brands that promise a number of hours of wear which deliver and which don't. Love this channel in general :)
This is by far the easiest tutorial on the mod look I've ever seen. Thank you so much Z! I'm recreating this look tonight to surprise my hubby when he gets home lol. Take care and God bless you.💃
I love your historical makeup tutorials!!! I would love to see a Victorian era 1800s or early 1900s! I know it'd be very simple, but oh my gosh those are some favorite time periods historically to me. Thanks for all of your videos, you are my favorite RUclips channel!
That idea for a Marie Antoinette inspired look sounds great! Please do :) P.S.: I really like how you do your valid research and give us great historic facts - not just cal it a "Historically Accurate" video and try to play the part. Thanks!
Zabrina, I am a historian and I find all your tutorial videos completely fascinating! They are another look at history--which, after all, is not just wars/politics--but also how people dressed and saw themselves. With your videos we can see step by step how their 'look' per decade is achieved also is a sociological/historical tutorial as well! Its just as much scholarliness as a written history chapter. Your comments are really illuminating on the 'look' per decade and details/movements of how women changed in one way for sure. I wish I had these videos when we checked out the 20's in history class--the girls would have been bolt up right in their chairs!! Thank you.
You nailed that mod cut crease! I would love to see you do a Diane Lane in Ladiss and Gentlemen the Fabulous Stains look or Sensational Sherry Mantel who was a wrestler in the 90s and her make up is so fun and cool! All the best, keep up the good work and I'll keep watching!
Always love your Transformation Tutorials G! It's always interesting to learn about how makeup has progressed throughout the years. Marie Antoinette historically accurate would be stunning! Anything Renaissance or Middle Ages theme :)
Another fabulous time-machine video. I found these recently, and I'd never really thought about the history of make-up before. I'm an archaeologist, so you're utterly fascinated me with your time-machine vids. I was thinking that it would be really interesting, both for your viewers, and for you, to look into the makeup of the geisha, which was, of course, worn differently over different decades, and by the age of the geisha. Anything before WWII would be cool. Also, you'd probably be interested to look into the history of the kimono as well if you do a video like this. Looking forward to your next vid!
+Cristal Reyes Ancient Greeks and Romans didn't really apply a lot of makeup, it was seen as taboo. However, if you want some accurate hairstyles, check out Janet Stephens here on RUclips, she does those sorts of hair recreations all the time with period appropriate tools.
+solitaireclub actually Makeup was present In Ancient Rome & Ancient Greece. They used a variety of items to create rouge, eye shadows, lip products & even for their eyebrows. The Upper class even had 2-3 slaves for this purpose, just to do their makeup. I personally hope she does do a video of one of these.
+solitaireclub Roman women did wear makeup. even though the men didnt really approve of it. they would use many different kind of things to whiten their face. The Greeks used berries to stain their lips and or cheeks
Loved this Z! You are so talented.. This is one of my favorite series from you! Maybe you could do a future look? Like what you think the style is going to look like in the year 2070 Or something! Love youuu xoxo
the only things they would wear was powder on the nose or cheeks and ashes/soot on their. eyelashes. and maybe some really pale pink nail polish. but only very few women did this. and they wouldnt wear makeup out of the house. the only people who really wore makeup at that time were actresses and prostitutes.
One of my favorite things from the 60's was peppermint flavored lipstick very light colors. I lightly drew lower lashes . Had a Beatle haircut or really asymmetrical.
Lesley Hornby always seems so amazingly sweet and modest in her interviews! She's THE face of the 60's fashion, it takes a true role-model to shine inside and out. And of course you made another awesome and accurate video. Groovy;)
Absolutely beautiful! you have such a gift at re-creating many looks it's amazing. Im not quite sure if you have done Ginger from Gilligan's Island, but that would be kind of cool to see. Thanks for sharing.
I'm loving the historical makeup series. What a great idea. Yardley was big then. Twiggy was my first crush. You look more like Jean Shrimpton. The false lashes were even heavier than you'e wearing. Like baby tarantulas on your eyes!
I love these historically accurate tutorials. What exactly do you do after creating the looks? Do you rock them for the rest of the day or take it off right after?
Gorgeous!! Love it! It this look makes your eyes look little bigger which is awesome! By the way that mac pro concealer seems to be fantastic! I kind of want to try it! Thanks again!
I just discovered your channel today, and as a history buff, I'm very much enjoying this series. This has been my favorite look so far - I definitely want to try it sometime!
I was born in 1962 so I def love this look! Going to try it soon. I do think the new Spider Effect mascara would be appropriate for this because I remember spider eyed lashes being the rage!
Really really like this look ! So chic ! You had done a very good study about the fashion in that era. Very stunning !!! Love it Love it ; ))) I'm new on RUclips and really love to watch your channel.
I always have to watch these twice, once to watch the look and listen, and then again to really READ the tips..he he, love it! This was awesome! (Side note....Snapchat family here...I couldn't spot "the word" so I think you're good! 😊 then again maybe it was one I've never seen written down so I would have missed it anyway...hahaha!) Gorgeous work as always Z! Thanks for all the hard work you put into these! ❤❤❤
***** Well, Zabrena, this mod look is fabulous! But, alas, I am in my early 40s, so I'll have to go with the 60s look of the older gals: the mint green shadow and red lip. That look is fun too, though. If it's good enough for Hepburn . . . Thanks a million! I LOVE your vids! :)
wow!! your videos are so instructive! most of the makeup tutorials in youtube are the same style, you're one of the only ones i see something totally different and with very easy steps, im really dying to try a lot of the looks on your videos! keep it up, im a fan now!
+Alyzhon Cardona AW! Thank you so much, Alyzhon and welcome to you! :)
I really do love the mod look, always have, it always makes me so happy when i see people recreate this look, or really any look from the 60's-70's
I would love to see a 70s hippy look great video as always! This is honestly my favorite series on RUclips 😘 xxx
Well, the hippies didn't wear make-up, they were all natural :) but she already did a Farrah Fawcett look (70's), which is really great!
I love this series! I found you 2 years looking for a 1920s makeup tutorial and have love your channel since!

Hey there, I was recently doing some research about the 60s (to plan a 60s themed wedding). Therefore, I stumbled upon your tutorial. Really well done.
This took me back! I always wore the same look including the lower lashes painted on way back when. So fun!
Oh my goodness!! I've seen a couple of vids from this series so far, and they are so good... Not only does the makeup look amazing, but you've incorporated the styling to your entire look.
Thank you for putting in this hard work!

I can't we the only one who wants Maybelline to bring back those Powder Twist thing in the ad?
They did!! Kind of.
I would rather these tutorials be done using vintage makeup (i.e., not MAC).
Roman, Renessaince, or French Revolution/ Aristrocracy look from the 1700s...omg you could so pull it off!
How about a Cindy Crawford supermodel look from the 90s?! 😊

You have the perfect face and deep set eyes for a 60s mod makeup. So good!
Maybe a Gibson Girl/Titanic style? Especially the hair!
That would be divine!
Makeup was considered scandalous during that era, clear skin was the main thing about Edwardian beauty.
Yes please!
the only things they would wear was powder on the nose or cheeks and ashes/soot on their. eyelashes. and maybe some really pale pink nail polish. but only very few women did this. and they wouldnt wear makeup out of the house. the only people who really wore makeup at that time were actresses and prostitutes.
