You described my relationship with social events well 😅

This rings true. As an INFP. Weather or not a social situation drains me depends on weather or not i planned it or weather im looking forward to it. I like going to festivals and theme parks all the time, and i'll get into random conversations with random people and it doesn't drain me. (of course, the occasional unpleasant/awkward interaction is draining) on the other hand, if a friend contacts me and is like, lets do this or that tomorrow, its super draining, even if i am only spending time with them. If they have some random person with them, that i dont know, my social battery drains fast. My job is also draining, as i work retail and have to interact with alot of people. Often times, i find myself listining to the most random collection of guilty pleasure songs and smoking weed alone in my back yard that looks kinda like a campground complete with a fire pit, picnic table, and a small deck thats big enough for a couple chairs, all under the shade of giant trees. If im not doing that, i tend to sleep alot, watch alot of RUclips videos, or i go on long pointless walks, either around downtown, or some park area like a beach or forest.

Yep, spot on. I hibernate for days after social events. Switching on the creative mode helps me circumvent the burnout.

OMG! This is exactly what I go through. Thanks for helping me understand myself. This happens to 10X being a manager and needed to constantly be in meetings. Great to know it is a thing

This makes a lot of sense and explains why my INFP friend is always listening to music when she's even slightly bored or not feeling the social scene in the moment. Always appeared very anti-social and almost a bit rude because she wasn't truly present with everyone while they spoke but now I see that she probably does it to gain back energy and it probably doesn't occur to her that she's being somewhat reclusive.

For me it's exactly the same. I think I thought I was the only one like that, but after all, there are a lot of people like me. 😅🤩

im in early 20s now, but i remember when i was younger i often throw tantrums for no reason. recently i remember that those tantrums happened after or in the middle of "busy schedules". after school, family gatherings, stuff like that. i wonder if it has anything to do with my response to the lack of energy.
(in teenage years i no longer throw tantrums, but i can get really upset about petty things)
