Man J. Cole's story is so symbolic. Young Simba is young J. Cole trying to make it in the rap game. Now he is Lion King, like he alluded to on the song title Lion King on Ice. What is even more symbolic is him growing his hair out which seems like a mane, compared to when he was simba with a short trim. Man this guy's progression in music is a living story, like this is some fairy tale type shit. From camping outside arguably the best rapper of all time's studio (Jay z) to finally getting signed to his idol. Like even the names of everybody of work is super intentional, the names of the album alone shows he's progression even before you listen to the music. Man I'm just going off because I truly believe J. Cole is a blessing on earth; like he is truly a prophet and deserves his flowers now. It's really just a Cole World and we're living it

This was one of the songs I listened when I was still in HS. Everybody just counted me out, telling I can't go to college coz I was dumb and supposed to just be a bum my entire life. Yet here I am, a college professor teaching philosophy basically inspired by Cole's lyrics and perspectives in life! So, thank you J. Cole!
