I'm not too sure about Texas law, but I think most states, landlords can prohibit tenants from having weapons and guns on property. There are two states where landlords cannot prohibit tenants from having guns and that's Minnesota and Virginia.
As a renter how do I have things fixed and the lease actually being followed by the landlord?? I was informed I'm not allowed to grill. Landlord stated I was in breech of my lease... I found my lease and it states... Not allowed to grill ON balcony or porch which I have neither... I was grilling in my driveway. Does that still pertain to me?? But they have been an issue since I moved here!! Nothing ever getting fixed within 30 days... It's been a year to 2 years.. and I'm still waiting for stuff to get done!! I pay rent and stay to myself. Just seemed easier that way!
First, are you in Texas? If so, the procedure for making a repair request should be stated in your written lease. If it's not, you should look up Texas Property Code Section 92.056. Please note that superficial or purely cosmetic repairs are not as enforceable as repairs the "affect the health and safety of an ordinary tenant."

Here's an example from a Texas lease, but you should seek out legal counsel in CA to make sure this conforms with the laws of your state: "APPLICATION OF FUNDS: Regardless of any notation on a payment, Landlord may apply funds received from Tenant first to any non-rent obligations of Tenant, including but not limited to, late charges, returned payment charges, repairs, brokerage fees, periodic utilities, pet charges, and then to rent."
My landlord won’t fix the ac we always pay in time and never bother her but she keeps she has someone coming and they never show up I live in tx in the mornings it’s 85 degrees in the house it’s so fucked up im being forced to live like this and I always keep my end of the lease agreement is there anything I can do I don’t want to refuse to pay rent because then I could be evicted from what I understand so my only option is to keep paying until my lease is up and leave and live in a house that’s gonna be over 100 degrees in summer there has to be something I can do please help

I'm not sure whether such a ban would violate the 2nd Amendment, but Texas is a very pro-gun state. We have open carry here. Texans love guns.

Can landlord apply rent payment from government assistance such as housing to late fees in case tenant’s portion of rent is not enough?
