He didn't drop her! Aliona was ready to hit the floor, she knew it was coming! For me, this was perfect, and should have received 4 tens!
I think the reason why it didnt get 4 tens, was because even though he made it look so effortless, he didnt have very good facial expressions, and thats all part of a Chareleston.
Their Synchronization was amazing, like they'd been performing that routine for years.
I had the BIGGEST smile on my face throughout that whole dance. I didn't think anything could top the jive- this did. Completely genius.

What?! A Tom Baker/Matt Smith Dr Who Charleston?! What an inspired concept! It was fabulous, from the effortless swivel action of his feet to the syncopated moves to a fendishly fast number, at times it looks like a jitterbug instead of a Charleston. Easily a 9 or a 9.5. Won't be surprised if one or two judges awarded this a ten!

+Scd Observer Maybe if they'd had the normal 4 days they'd have been able to smooth out that wrinkle. Unfortunately, he only had 3 days this week.
+Scd Observer Quite frankly I would have been impressed that they managed to use a song with "DOCTOR" in the title and avoid some sort of hospital theme. But even I as somebody who doesn't really watch Dr Who and has limited knowledge of Dr Who, could tell that they really committed to the theme - it was a joy to watch and I think Sophie EB may have just been knocked down to 2nd in the Best Charleston's Ever list.
Brilliant!!! Best dance of the night! The rapturous applause from the studio audience at the end said it all! Wish they'd included it at the end of the clip.

This guy is outstanding way ahead of everyone else drop or no drop. Real class act absolutely stunning. I keep watching the Pulp Fiction jive OMG he should win on that alone. He is the only one I can't wait to see. He has the wow factor and although the others are quite good they just don't have it. Go Jay and Aliola

For me he’s the best male contestant they’ve had in terms of natural dance ability. Not always the best performer but he moves so well
an INCREDIBLE routine- been looking forward to this all week. again he makes a dance look sexy that isn't ordinarily so. I don't believe he dropped aliona...so not sure why they were marked down. should have got 10s across the board. a genius routine and he HAS to win!!! (well I voted 10 times for this lol)

Loved it, well done Jay and Aliona. You're a great team. You have both created some amazing dances and now thanks to RUclips we can now relive them over and over again. A round of applause! Jay for the final and hopefully for the win. It's a tough competition this year.
my favourite dance of Jays so far! it was really fun! i've been waiting the whole series for him to do the Charleston and he didn't disappoint! and mixed with Doctor Who too, I love it!

Agree 100%. Those spins were absolutely flawless. Even former strictly dancer Lilya Kopylova said he spins like a pro. Loved this charleston. Great fun!
All that and his grandads funeral I heard. He should be given the trophy tomorrow.
I love love loved this dance best Charleston by a male celeb ever in SCD. he made it look effortless. was so much fun to watch. my son who's 8 loved him being Dr Who and was up dancing with him. a fantastic put together piece, every move was flawless shame about the bit at the end. I'd mark 10 for his and Kellie's last dance. I think it will be a close final. I can't wait to see the results show Sunday night

I'm nervous about the final, he's being tailed by Kellie and I don't like it. She's good, but I'm a hot blooded cougar and she's starting to cloy.
THIS WAS PERFECT. The fact that this didn't steal the first perfect score of the season amazes me. If Georgia wins, I will throw a fit, because how could you say she is the deserving winner when you have Jay here who is just on another level? He's one of the pros by now. Wow, this dance was amazing
he is incredible- since week 1 he's looked like the best. the trouble is, the judges pander to Georgia- overmark her, then they were bleating on about her sore throat (didn't stop her shrieking at the scores tonight though)...Jay is by far the best, and most technically gifted dancer. best charleston of the series

I hate how on any season in any country we have to have a certain couple that is crammed down our throats as the obvious judges favorite, and that person is never just knocked out for their own right. I am SO hoping Jay wins. I'm in US and can't vote for him, but throw some his way for me, please!!!

+Emma Campbell They don't overmark Georgia. Jay has the highest average score of the series; she has the third-highest. There is no favouritism.
Jay is my favourite, but Georgia would be a deserving winner. She's shown so much improvement and her and Jay are easily the most technically gifted ones in the competition.

The amount of effort he put in this dance and specially for less time to rehearse this was amazing and should of deserved at least 39 I think 40 tho
This was a simply superb performance, it is YEARS since they did it on strictly come dancing, but I have watched this countless times, and I still think that it is the best, most complete, performance I have ever seen on the programme. Jay must have natural musicality, but Aliona , and I stress this is only My opinion, must be one of the best dancers ever to appear on the show......She could teach a tea chest to dance, I`m sure.
Easily one of the best routine I've seen, and not to knock the others, but this definitely deserved the first 40 of the series - akin to Caroline's Salsa last year

Jake Oliver Maybe the combination of the costume? Matt never wear "suit" thingy inside his jacket but David does.
My favourite thing about this dance is how effortless it looked. Usually the dancers get the swivel action etc yet it looks a little over-worked. This was free, clean and fun- a whole other side to Jay and I loved it!

Content filled routine I would like to see any of the other couples perform this yeah they wouldn't go near the technique that this man performed!
I wonder if, before SCD, Jay realised how good a dancer he is. Also, it seems Aliona is a great teacher who can bring out the best in people. 'Needles to say, I loved this routine.

Jay is doing so well on strictly personally one of my favorite dances he has done he is doing terrific keeping up with her I honestly though he was going to be to stiff ,but he was completely shocking I think he could win the this thing.
I feel like this would have been an amazing showdance in the final. It's quick , a few tricks and flips in it and jays best moves then it would be great!

This was the dance where I felt jay fully let go and you saw just how brilliant he could be. At one point he even outdances Aliona with how loose and clean his moves are. Amazing. And so well choreographed

An incredible dance! I'm not a fan of all the gurning or silliness in the Charleston..this is much more up my street. I realise something wasn't right with that lift. But the dancing was ridiculously good. I'd have to give it a 10. A 10 is relative in my opinion anyway!

I was curious about what they would produce for this music beforehand.I needn't have worried as it was an outstanding routine, though the lifts probably didn't go as planned? Their showdance should be something else.

OK. OK! I know that I have made a comment on this dance previously, but Jay must have thought ALL of his dreams had come true when he was partnered with the gorgeous Aliona....and he actually got paid for it???? What a lucky guy. She was the best dancer on that show by a million miles, and with such a stunning figure, and looks that could win the Miss World Competition. Sadly she no longer graces our TV screens.
loved it, great side by side and transitions in and out of tandem charleston. finish a bit sloppy. i give it 9.
