Competitive doesn’t care about SIR price, no competitive player is going to be buying such an expensive card to use in their decks. The truth is that people will just put the bulk ex in their deck, or the UR if they want to bling it out a bit more. $200 per card in a deck which plays 3-4 copies is a hard sell. Additionally, it’s not even a good deck right now. The ideal list either doesn’t exist in this meta or hasn’t been figured out yet because only a single Greninja deck got to Day 2 of NAIC last month (123rd), marking it solidly as a Tier 2 deck for now. I haven’t played against Greninja a single time since it’s been released at locals. There’s a new style of Pidgeot Control which had added a 2-2 line of Greninja but not many people play control, let alone the version with Greninja. Basically, I don’t think competitive has any impact on Greninja’s price being this high. Combine that with the fact that the PAF Charizard is less than half the price of this thing while being a _Charizard,_ and it really makes me think that this is being pumped really hard. There is no way this is a sustainable price for the Greninja. It think it will probably be under $100 within the next year
In every card game there are players who "max rarity" their decks and run the highest possible rarities of each card that they can get their hands on. Funny enough, I've seen some players who still shuffle their decks as if they were handling Vegas playing cards with these expensive pieces.
Competitive 100% affects price, even of full arts and SIRs. Players like having shiny rarer versions of their deck staples too and this is not a collector exclusive mindset. As for how good Greninja is I’ve seen several versions and runs of people tweeking to find a good use for Greninja decks. Tournament winning, maybe not, but is definitely being used for competitive play.

Greninja is not a very good deck, it is not a very popular deck, and only a small fraction competitive players who would even be playing this just-ok deck would care enough about blinging their decks to fill it with $200 cards. I really don’t think competitive is a factor in this instance. I would expect the Charizard and Iono to be much more dictated by competitive, and even then I think it’s a lesser force compared to the investors and collectors, who are like 95% of the market of $50+ cards. @@beanburrito4405 if greninja gets another art, the price will drop. Charizard has about 9 arts of the same card everyone uses, as opposed to 3 for Greninja. Like I said I’ve seen it played a good bit but maybe it’s not at the higher level you play at.
It could be more as people don’t open much of scarlet and violet. Also more generally, it’s great that some cards are reaching this value, without that ripping packs becomes entirely pointless vs buying singles.

It’s a bit higher than it should be, but oh all the cards fetching higher prices this is the one that makes the most sense. People forget that l certain rainbows fetched $150-$250 prices in sun and moon. High as hell but certain cards made more sense

The garchomp ex alt art is my favorite of the crystal hats. That color pops and texture is rich. Also garchomp is my favorite drago. :) So very biased. But i also think the tera full alts are great because of the minimalist approach of an otherwise a chaotic design. 🤷♀️ I think they look nice in the binder and in the deck!
One of my favorite cards to pair with Tera Greninja is the froslass from the same set, mainly because it’s one of the few decks that can actively knockout benched Pokémon other than Tsareena ex + Brute Bonnet and or Hisuian Braviary
It’s ok everyone calls SV mid now, but in a couple years I’ll see a video where people say “this was one of the best eras for pokemon.” I remember the early sword and shield days when people said this era sucks and the sets aren’t as enjoyable with chilling reign and fusion strike being towards the top of this list.

People are finding it hard to pull, I definitely feel it. Same happened with the Aerodactyl V alt art, started at $60 then doubled after the first week when PokeRev couldn't pull it. It stopped there unlike Greninja, but that's also waaaay more playable

the thing i dont understand about pokemon cards is how do you tell pop counts or know if something is rare or not. in sports you usually base prices off the set and a players rookie card price. sports has autos a numbered parralels where pokemon pretty much just has the normal card shiny or not. i dont even take sports card investing seriously because i just collect the players and teams i like and dont resell stuff. pokemon investing just seems like such a crap shoot and you pretty much just gotta ride the trends if you are a seller.
Pokemon usually goes based off three things: Popularity Playability Rarity If there is a deviation from these three things it’s usually a bit suspicious

Pretty sure 151 got a TON of people back into the hobby. Id say some (a lot)of the current popularity in Pokemon is from all the people that got back in the hobby because of 151. Idk man I don't think saying Greninja is the Moonbreon of SV is that crazy. Could deffo get overtaken by a Team Rocket card, Terastal Festival card or something else, but Umbreon was that card in SWSH beating out the Gengar, Giratina, Espeon & Lugia in value before it was all said & done & it wouldn't be crazy (IMO) if Greninja does the same thing in SV
At 6:32 , tbf stellar miracle is probably the last S&V set based off the game. Anything after I would assume is legends ZA which is still technically S&V era just not anything in the S&V game
The sentiment of SV being bad is countered by anyone who actually gives a damn about the cards. Only the people who have something to gain are trashing on SV so that prices will drop and they will get a better sellback after hype inevitably rises (since the quality of these sets is so high)
Hey i didn't like giratina v alt art for the same reason i don't greninja ex alt art: it's too busy for my personal taste. However, I completely understand why it's $250 card. Rarity + playability + popularity.
the only card in sv that is grossly overvalued is magikarp in p/e. that card should be a 20-40$ card like other similar cards in the era such as raichu, tyranitar, evee, gastly, and groundon art rares. the greninja is somewhat overvalued rn due to fomo but i can see it fetching 190-200 after the fomo dies down. pretty much every other card in the sv era is either fairly valued or undervalued.

Calling it now. Meowscarada is the next greninja. Has the protein ability and its sig move always crits in game. Its design reminds me of a jester or like a persona 5 character. Its there just not accepted yet. But that’s why I picked up 10 of the psa 10 sir of it from Paldea evolved. Slowly waiting.

I have the Korean graninja I very lucky to have it. Yes alot of basic cards like art rares are very good and they affordable also. Some of the basic art rares look better then the main cards people are chasing just for the money and value.
I feel like the promo coming in Shrouded Fable looks way cooler. I get that Geninja is playable, but don't get how it can be +$200 because of that, maybe $100-$160, untill it falls from rotation, then steady at $100ish untill whenever a pump comes in. I meaan I feel like a broken radio but yeah the promo is around the corner. 👀 I still think the Chansey and Eevee from Twilight are better cards, even the trainers go waay harder then the Greninja but just me I guess lol.
Haven’t seen anyone thaaaaat pumped about the art. It’s cool. But everyone hates the hats. And not even the lugia and charizard alt arts are over 200 bucks years later, and people love those and talk about them as some of their favs. It’ll come down when all the sets come out later this year. It’s just the newest thing. I’ll grab it if it gets around 100 like it was at launch.
I always loved Graninja and no lie Ash Graninja was the shit, he really should have won that tournament. I also really like Twilight masquerade as well, though I like most Scarlet and Violet sets not sure why everyone is hating on them so much. The price seems legit to me.

PSA 10 for a modern card being double the price of raw makes perfect sense. It's the case with many. Most copies in existence right now are prestine lol you're not gonna see the raw vs PSA10 disparity like you see in vintage.

This set is funny cause i pulled the greninja off my 1st sleeved pack from gamestop. Only bought 3 sleeved and booster bundle, retired the set lmaoooo

The froslass is awesome, doing chip damage to Pokemon with abilities (which is almost all the good ones people play) is great.
I don't care about the hats I love the tera mechanic in the card game. My favourites are Espathra and Tsareena.

Idk man I don't think saying Greninja is the Moonbreon of SV is that crazy. Could deffo get overtaken by a Team Rocket card, Terastal Festival card or something else, but Umbreon was that card in SWSH beating out the Gengar, Giratina, Espeon & Lugia in value before it was all said & done & it wouldn't be crazy (IMO) if Greninja does the same thing in SV

At 6:32 , tbf stellar miracle is probably the last S&V set based off the game. Anything after I would assume is legends ZA which is still technically S&V era just not anything in the S&V game
The sentiment of SV being bad is countered by anyone who actually gives a damn about the cards. Only the people who have something to gain are trashing on SV so that prices will drop and they will get a better sellback after hype inevitably rises (since the quality of these sets is so high)

Hey i didn't like giratina v alt art for the same reason i don't greninja ex alt art: it's too busy for my personal taste. However, I completely understand why it's $250 card. Rarity + playability + popularity.
Of all the cards in the set to be a chase, Greninja makes the most sense. Still a little high, but at least it’s making sense like Sun and Moon did

the only card in sv that is grossly overvalued is magikarp in p/e. that card should be a 20-40$ card like other similar cards in the era such as raichu, tyranitar, evee, gastly, and groundon art rares.
the greninja is somewhat overvalued rn due to fomo but i can see it fetching 190-200 after the fomo dies down. pretty much every other card in the sv era is either fairly valued or undervalued.

Calling it now. Meowscarada is the next greninja. Has the protein ability and its sig move always crits in game. Its design reminds me of a jester or like a persona 5 character. Its there just not accepted yet. But that’s why I picked up 10 of the psa 10 sir of it from Paldea evolved. Slowly waiting.

I have the Korean graninja I very lucky to have it. Yes alot of basic cards like art rares are very good and they affordable also. Some of the basic art rares look better then the main cards people are chasing just for the money and value.
People just want expensive stuff to make more money from instead of enjoying the cards.
The community you all are in is more important then the actual pokemon cards. But some people don't appreciate that they just out for that money.

I feel like the promo coming in Shrouded Fable looks way cooler. I get that Geninja is playable, but don't get how it can be +$200 because of that, maybe $100-$160, untill it falls from rotation, then steady at $100ish untill whenever a pump comes in. I meaan I feel like a broken radio but yeah the promo is around the corner. 👀 I still think the Chansey and Eevee from Twilight are better cards, even the trainers go waay harder then the Greninja but just me I guess lol.

Haven’t seen anyone thaaaaat pumped about the art. It’s cool. But everyone hates the hats. And not even the lugia and charizard alt arts are over 200 bucks years later, and people love those and talk about them as some of their favs. It’ll come down when all the sets come out later this year. It’s just the newest thing. I’ll grab it if it gets around 100 like it was at launch.
I always loved Graninja and no lie Ash Graninja was the shit, he really should have won that tournament. I also really like Twilight masquerade as well, though I like most Scarlet and Violet sets not sure why everyone is hating on them so much. The price seems legit to me.
