So, quick dolphin spender maths. How many keys to save up for the 9th of July, assuming you want 4 spotlights in a row. Easy answer is 16, but you'll usually gain 2-3 more during a month, so 13 or so I guess for 100%. Only 0.4% chance of needing all 16, and 2% chance of needing 15, so allowing for some bad luck, I'd guess about 11-12 keys stored by then?

Worth noting about purchasing cards with tokens, there will supposedly be a series drop some time in the next couple of months. I believe it was said back in January that there should be one in the April-June timeframe. And they also mentioned in the discord that there will be more info made available soon (tm)
I think Sersi is a bit (just a bit) underated in those pre-release reviews. I think in a "tokens" deck things like rocks, Mysterio clones and squirrels can get some good value from the upgrade. Random location spawns can also be upgraded. And the most fun will be upgrading little gifts like hoods, goblins and voids.

Just personally, that PF variant is worth the 4 keys, so I'm excited to try Sersi lol. Good ideas about the anni interaction especially. Cool stuff
speaking of Tokens. wouldnt she be amazing with Ramp? like you can literally Swap Electro out, or if you also bringing in White Tiger, the base card herself can be changed into a red hulk. she is basically Blink in that regard no? lol

Really appreciate the work on this video! Even though I am one card off from complete collection (Martyr is always jumping away from me 😂), it was useful to watch because it made me reconsider when I was I was planning to use keys or not. Because maybe opening just for variants is not optimal depending on how much useful the card is or how much I play with it! Anyway, that was my personal take from this, Thank you!

I'll be prob picking up Miek with tokens for example, because I want to get his spotlight variant alongside the David Mack PF. It's not an optimal choice, but splitting cards with arts I love makes me feel good! Take care everyone!

Hey Jeff. I think Makkari will be good in some (or all) Surfer decks. Often the biggest problems in Surfer is not being able to get out enough 3-drops, and this just gives you one for free. I think Makkari will be fantastic in Surfer decks that try to get multiple Surfer triggers.

Sadly, may is looking like a very uninteresting month for me. Good time to pull back on play time and just collect some resources. June, on the other hand, will be a banger. Too bad Arishen is so far away, cant wait to play around with it

Great video. I love the part at the end of running through best token purchases for cards that are not in a spotlight cache. That's super helpful. Question for you. Proxima and Beta Ray Bill are the only two in upcoming spotlights that I do not own. Where would you put those two next to Red Guardian or Pixie in terms of best use of my tokens? I have 18,000 tokens and can purchase Red Guardian right now but wasn't sure if BRB or Proxima are a better token purchase.
I think Pixie is the sweetest and most unique of that group. Also pretty powerful.

I think the current rotation time for cards is floating somewhere around 5 months or so, so... it'll be a while until we see USAgent again.

I think I'd start Sage out in the Jean Grey prison deck over Punisher. Obviously card evaluation ahead of time is hard, but I'll bet she's larger than Punisher on average in that deck.
For me personally, I'm hesitant to spend tokens on cards that haven't been in spotlights recently or in the data mines, because I think those are strong candidates to be series dropped. Of course, we have no timeline on that, but hopefully it's next month's patch.

Nah that wasn't dumb, you just lacked information. It might not have been "optimal", but the game is about having fun, and now you get to play with Hope for 2+ months instead of waiting. I think that's still a win imo

thx for the content. I start marvel snap two months ago and currently only have a destroy deck. Is there any video I should watch to know which series 5 cards series 4 cards are real important or ‘defining the deck’ if i want to play some different decks? For example I have seen Jeff in a lot of decks but it seems that as a beginner Jeff is not that important to me.
Actually planning to do an updated pass on that video type for Monday.

Are BK and Skaar even worth picking up anymore? That week seemed like the best value for caches but with the death of Zabu, I'm not sure anymore.
Not argueing that the Sersi week isn't weak, but it's one where each of my keys will score a hit, so I'm looking forward to it.

The only reason why I'm using keys in the Sasquatch week is because it has the variants I want the most and I have all the returning cards. I'll use tokens for the 1st 2 weeks.

We won't really know until folks are able to play with Arishem. So I'd just wait a few days after he comes out, and see if he's good before spending tokens
Do you guys buy mainly series 4 cards with collector tokens or do you go for the series 5 cards? Seems like series 4 cards with collector tokens + planning to go for effective series 5 spotlight weeks is the most valueble right?

Unfortunately for me, I love Alpha Flight (have the entire comic series), and therefore will be "wasting" 6k tokens and keys to get that awesome Sasquatch variant. Scratch that. It's not "unfortunate". This is a game and it's meant to be fun. Getting an awesome variant for a beloved character sounds like fun to me. Hopefully the luck Gods will grant me my card in 1 key, but I'll use all 4 if needed!

Yes imo. He could still get nerfed further but in terms of raw numbers on his own he's tough to beat as a 6 drop
While red Hulk is probably best in slot for six drops still it isn't enough better than something like Magento that I'd recommend spending a limited resource on him for non whales.

Is jeff worth spending? I am saving my collectors token and pinned him, he is 6000 token, and I only have 5400. I am a beginner, its my first time spendee if ever, I am eyeing for red hulk but I dont know if he will ever show up any time soon
Jeff is a low priority pick up IMO. While he sees plenty of play, getting him won't unlock any new archetypes for you.

Really wish Sasquatch was in a better cache, he looks so fun but I struggle to justify using keys on Series 4 cards when there's so many banger caches in the subsequent weeks.
I kind of think they did that on purpose, tbh. Sasquatch looks like an incredible card in the Mysterio Mockingbird packages people are already playing, so I think they weighed down Sasquatch's cache with S4 cards (one of which is unplayably bad) to reduce the value of the cache.
What's more fun to you? Getting a new card you're excited about using or saving for another card in the future? Only you can answer that one. Use tokens if you have them. You have 4 weeks to get enough resources to cover that week, whether it's tokens or keys. That variant for Sasquatch sealed the deal for me. Efficient usage of resources be damned!

Typo.
No, Mockingbird wasn't downgraded. We haven't had any series drops since January, and Mockingbird came out in March, so there hasn't been a drop since Mockingbird has been a card at all.

These are a really great resource, but I'm not sure how helpful it is to rate the cache as a whole since I would imagine most people (at least most watching Snap content) will have at least one if not both returning cards. It seems more useful to rate the cards individually and then maybe give an average for the cache. Either way, appreciate your thoughtful reviews!
I very explicitly talk about what makes the different caches good in the actual content. You are right that it isn't very useful to people who are just scrapping the video for star rating and ignoring all context though.

I feel like ur significantly over rating how important a cache card being series 4 is, like, sure it's half as many tokens but like, there are plenty of series 4 cards i would rather over 2 random series 5 cards, and it's really more important to consider how important the cards are tobthe decks they're played in than their series, cause ravonna and pf are extremely important to their decks, so if you wanna play w them, u should probably go for those caches
