Fun Fact about the Necrons: Every Necron in existence went thru the furnace over 65million years ago, then went to sleep. Every Necron warrior that dies (and fails to resurrect) is lost, never to be replaced. The Necrons are truly a endangered species even tho countless billions have yet to awaken. Their countless numbers are truly numbered..
I just love that the bell that Trazyn stole started ringing like hell when the 13th black crusade kicked off, and the shockwaves from it actually caused significant damage to his museum. So he literally tore a hole into the webway and yeeted it in there purely to fuck with the Eldar.
@@Digitaaliklosetti what if trazyn saw the british museum and decided to continue it's legacy, the first act for that being stealing the british museum itself.
So about killing C'tan, the Necrons actually could, and did kill C'tan, once. The death of the C'tan known as The Flayed One unleashed what is now known as the Flayer Virus, an uncurable curse that twists the minds and bodies of infected Necrons into flesh craving monsters, and somehow allows them to travel to and through a unique dimension. The Necron stopped killing C'tan after that.
Funnily enough, the C'Tan are not Gods of Chaos because they are not Warp Creatures. They're actual living beings the Necrontyr just jammed into Metallic bodies and *instantly regretted doing so.*
It's important to note that the Necrontyr didn't just lose their souls in the process of becoming Necron...the C'tan actually ate them. They developed a taste for souls to fill the void of no longer sucking on that Big Bang juice.
A crazy theory I've seen is that the War in Heaven is the reason why the Chaos Gods are as powerful as they are now. The theory goes that before the War, the immaterium was "calmer", the Chaos gods were there, but they were weaker and relatively contained. But the War caused misery and deaths on such an unimaginable scale, and so many souls were lost and "fed" to the warp, that it churned it up and allowed the Chaos Gods to feed on so much, that their powers grew to levels that couldn't be stopped by other gods.
It's now Cannon that the eye of terror was originally created by the old ones psychic power in the War in Heaven, and was stitched closed by the Necrons. Then was reopened when Slanessh ate all the Elder Souls. So yeah this theory is probably accurate
No. The disturbance in the Warp caused by War in Heaven jumpstarted the process of it becoming a hellhole and created many warp predators like enslavers, but not chaos
It's very possible that due to the ctan eating souls and possibly due to the old ones, the chaos gods just didn't get souls, or enough to have significat influence, but the shattering of the ctan and death of the old ones allowed those souls to get slowly funneled into the chaos gods, allowing them to grow stronger (And, yknow, slanessh)
Chaos gods are neither good nor evil, they just lack scope of their actions on the material universe. From what they see they are beneficial to said universe. However the emperor really pissed them off
Trazyn also has a tyranid hive tyrant pre chaos dusk raiders and at one point had a horus gene seed. He also helped the city of cadia I think fend of a chaos invasion by using his collections as troops bc he saw it as a opportunity to steal cool chaos things
That was THE FALL OF CADIA. Sorry for the capitalization but it's too convey the importance of that moment. Also it's important cause he released some pretty important characters and artifacts.
8:14 It may cheapen Vulkan's mystique, but it makes way for the most BADASS scene in TEatD part 1 where he's literally marching through the webway, flesh struggling to reform around bone, heart regenerating only to explode immediately killing him again, and his march is _consistent_. His repeated deaths don't even slow him as he drags his body (and his hammer) back to his father.

On the topic of AI development, I see a much more broad and impactful issue: humanity is developing technologically faster than it than society is developing, ie maturing. To give historic examples, powered flight was invented in 1903. By 1969, mankind had developed the technology to leave the planet. The first practical example of a computer was built in 1945. In the modern day, we are now creating programs (AI) that can entirely replace human workers. Humans have technologically advanced at an exponential rate, but as a species we have not matured fast enough to properly utilize these tools. The human race is still crippled by racism, sexism, religious prejudice, financial inequality, we are actively causing the 6th mass extinction, etc. Humanity needs to grow up and improve itself before our tools outpace us. AI itself wont kill us Terminaor style, but it could be used to greatly harm people in the hands of the ultra-rich or the corrupt. Humanity needs to fix our own social issues before developing advanced AI or other technologies.

Wouldn’t it be better, Obyron, just to accept our fate, and enjoy immortality for the everlasting life of merry campaigning it has proved to be?’
Here’s the thing about the Adeptus Mechanicus. They perform rituals of maintenance and rites of repair, passed down by word of mouth and scripture, and their prayers? Those prayers are the operational manual for the machine that rite applies to, translated to High Gothic. The rituals? That’s them performing proper a maintenance on a machine. If a Tech Priest prays to the machine spirit, that machine spirit is the intelligence of any machine that actually has one. When reason you have those moments where you apply dollops of oil while you pray to your auto gun, and applying the holy oil makes it work, it’s because you just lubricated it while chanting the maintenance instructions.
That is the funny part about the ad mech. When the the instructions and the rituals are impossible to separate who can tell which part is required? End of the day the wheels keep running and the machines are ready for war, just don’t ask about the idle machines in the back ground.
Quick note on the relationship between the C'tan and the Old Ones, the C'tan just didn't have physical bodies, so they couldn't do anything to the old ones, they just dealt with the necrons to make them those bodies, so when the C'tan made the deal, they also gave the C'tan bodies
Love your guys content. Recently got into war hammer lore and it is amazing. The table top game looks nuts. But the digital ones look hella fun. So I know I will be in this world for a long time. Fun fact about the Flood, from Halo: it was explained where they came from over a decade ago, IIRC, in one of the novels. Spoiler alert: they come from the *voluntarily* mutated cells from the last remaining Precursor, an alien species that existed millions of years before the current setting, god-like beings thanks to their technology. That Precursor did that to himself out of spite, enraged by the extinction of his people at the hands of the current enemies in Halo, the Forerunners, since those dudes wanted their job. So that massive chad went to the farthest planet in the galaxy, near intergalactic void, and unleashed a plague that required the extinction of all life in the galaxy to stop... Funnily enough, the idiotic Forerunners decided to keep some samples of the Flood for studying, just as they kept samples of all life forms they could get to, to repopulate the galaxy. Eventually the Flood returned, as depicted in the games and novels...

On subject of the necrontyr finding that their issues didnt go away when they settled other planets. Radiation does tend to stick around on metals so maybe they unintentionally took too much of their home world with them paired with their genes being absolutely trashed by compound generations of exposure to radiation
I thought it was the opposite concerning their technological preogression. Them living such short lifes they do all they can in that short amount if time.
Been really interested in warhammer lore recently and you guys are amazing to just listen to and get a good understanding of it all. I absolutely love the content keep it up please ❤
I think one of the best parts of trayzens collection is when abaddon was invading cadia trayzen shows up and teaches the mechanicum how to activate the pylons and then he released a full chapter of space marines he had captive to help hold Abby back and then just peaced out
Another example. Book the infinite and the divine in the final battle Trayzn uses every species that has ever settled on the planet. The book stays the entire history on Serenade goes to battle.
I fell into the warhammer 40k lore trap about 9 months ago. I just discovered yalls channel a couple days ago. So for loving it. I'm also a HUGE car nerd. So I gotta ask, how'd you go from necrons to cheap gpt to a Ferrari 250? Great picture though, any significance behind it?
there is some supporting evidance to the dragon being on mars beyond that story. 1) a quote from an old necron codext "the vaul moon sall bring forth the dragon" 2) necron ships breaching the sol system, one of them landing on mars. 3) it was said that th dragon of mars once lived in the spce between stars 4) addadon and a demon talked about a creature trapped in the laberanth in the 3rd edition necron codex
So the AI thing... this has happened before, actually. Twice. The first was the Photograph. Skilled photorealistic painters and drawers, almost overnight, were replaced. There was no need for someone to be paid to work for hours or days to perfectly render a scene or image, if you can get a perfect copy with $20 of equipment and some chemicals? Painting and drawing had to pivot HARD- photography directly caused the rise of Impressionism, as artists had to start attempting to make their paintings MORE than real. You no longer could make a living as an artist if 'all' you could do was near perfectly copy an image in front of you. The best painters still found a way, but it became a hobby for the rich or the field of once-in-a-generation geniuses. The second time was with recorded sound. While the phonograph brought professional music into everyone's households, it ALSO put out of work an enormous number of professional musicians. Every theater, every dance hall, every private party for the well-to-do used to have at least a couple musicians that would come in and play for them- pianists and violinists and horn players. But if a bar owner could pay $30 for a phonograph and another $10 for a couple records he can play every night, why bother paying a guitarist or pianist $20 per night? Orchestras and live shows continued, but the demand for live musicians was DECIMATED. That's what AI is doing. The really good artists will still be able to manage, off of creativity and uniqueness and sheer brand strength, but otherwise those that want to be artistic will have to have income besides these skills that they've honed as their livelyhood.

Wouldn’t it be better, Obyron, just to accept our fate, and enjoy immortality for the everlasting life of merry campaigning it has proved to be?’
Also, this is from the novella "Severed" iirc
I do appreciate the conversational banter you use in your explanations of how 40k works. Thanks again.
Found your stuff yesterday and was dying laughing at dinner watching the ork video
This is now my favorite podcast. It makes the For Honor losses sting less
Trazen: "THAT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM! MY MUSEUM!" *throws space pokeball*
I'm aware y'all probably know this and left it out for simplicities sake, my lore obsessed brain simply couldn't not say it lol, sorry
Watching this from only a year in the future and Apollo really do be giving the gift of foresight a lot
Really love this. I've been playing Warhammer 40K since 5th edition. But it's nice to see a podcast friendly to new comers.
Love your guys content. Recently got into war hammer lore and it is amazing. The table top game looks nuts. But the digital ones look hella fun. So I know I will be in this world for a long time. And what you are saying about AI I fully agree. The average person as no idea what this is going to do to the human ecosystem as we know. And it all going to be driven by greed form those that already have too much. Smh
Came from TikTok… suprised you guys ain’t bigger, happy to be part of well deserved growth
Glad you talked about how Imotekh the stormlord (my favorite character) really us THAT guy. Can't wait for you to go indepth on him and the other Necron Lords!
This is the sweet spot of 40k content. You guys are great.
The TikTok channel is definitely what brought me here but I got sick of scrolling through 8-12 part videos so I came to y'alls youtube channel to be able to get just the full explanation in one sitting.
Found you guys on tiktok and always nice with more longform 40k content. Also Trayzen does not have the bell that rings anymore, cause on the 13th black crusade it started to ring and break his legally obtained stuff so he threw it into the eldar webway hoping it would annoy the dark eldar
Neurons are my favorite, so glad you did one on them!
This is the greatest introduction to 40K podcast series out there! And even great for people who know more!
I love that Trazyn stole a bell once from the imperium and then it rang 13 times and destroyed a huge section of his museum so out of spite he threw it into the webway with the whole “now it’s the eldars and dark eldars problem
A bell? Ringing 13 times?
I hear Skaven whispers...
I came across your content on TikTok. Just subbed it to your RUclips. Love your content I have a request though. Is there something you can do with the audio levels to balance how quiet you naturally talk versus the high spikes in audio from your co-host?
honestly if you love the fear of the unknown then you should see the small bit about "the watcher in the rain" in warhammer
That's a good one.
This will become my favorite podcast
Love the long form chill discussions 🎉 keep it up!
been a 40k fan for a while, but never been able to sit down and learn more about the universe. Found your channel the previous week, thank you guys for making these
Brethren! I am continuing my journey through your videos. Thank you. Keep it up!
Trazyn looking at a space marine chapter like trading cards “Do I have one of this founding yet? I don’t think I have one in this color… they won’t miss a company or two will they?”
Nice job. Good amount of humor without slowing the story too much.
Whenever i think of the necrons, i always remember they have the celestial orrery. Material God's indeed
Thank you to you and your team for what you all do.
I enjoy these deep dives as a new warhammer fan and someone who has limited time to research or don’t want to Reddit dive. Keep it up you guys. Your Ork video was tops….. and bottoms. 😂
Great videos fellas. Love that you never fail to hype up whatever you are talking about!
Just got into the lore of 40k. Thank you guys so much for the videos.
When are we going to get spicy speculation on the two Missing primarchs, that were never mentioned.
Can't wait for you guys to get to Tyranids and then Chaos Deep Dives
I know all this but it’s cool the way you guys talk about it
I want a video where they layout what they think would happen if the living krork escaped and joined the orks
Trazyn is definitely my favorite character in 40k
This episode was really good. I like the switch from talking about unfeeling AI machines killing all humans to equally unfeeling AI killin all humans.
I thoroughly enjoyed the tangent away to IRL AI. Sometimes those tangents can be fun, and this one was 🤘
Aside from going full colonial brit on everyone's stuff, the best part of Trayzn is that he fights with Pokémon. He will let out a guard man regiment that is mind shackled to him
On subject of the necrontyr finding that their issues didnt go away when they settled other planets.
Your take on AI was frankly very eye opening and it is sad to think that could be the future, also funny spooky boys for the win
Commenting to compromise with the Omnissiah and for the long content, thanks for the work!
Hey I think this is the first video I've watched with them over 100k. I know it's an old video, but I'm wandering through there back catalog
Amazing video as ever guys keep up the good work!
Love WH 40k but it can be a bit to much. But Iysander and Kotta make it fun to learn😁
The Emperor IS the Omnissaiah. The Void Dragon MIGHT be the Machine God.
I've got into a deep dive thanks to you two.
You guys are amazing! New here but loving this!
He winked at the camera "Without Eyelids"
Bro I’ve been following the ADHD train and I’ve been binging your warhammer content
I *need* to see Nemesor Zandrekh singing the Modern Major General song.
instantly subscribed, you guys are funny asf and i learned a bunch too
Please next up do scary bats (Night Lords) and uncle Mariens (Grey Knights)! Thx
This is so much better than the random 40k shorts.
(The opposite and great)
there is some supporting evidance to the dragon being on mars beyond that story.
1) a quote from an old necron codext "the vaul moon sall bring forth the dragon"
2) necron ships breaching the sol system, one of them landing on mars.
3) it was said that th dragon of mars once lived in the spce between stars
4) addadon and a demon talked about a creature trapped in the laberanth in the 3rd edition necron codex
The old ones summed up
Eldridge lovecraftian god frogs!
