Thank you for not interrupting this excellent song as so many others do. You allowed us to enjoy it as it built toward its climax. Well done. You got a like from me.
I gave you a like too. Everyone should let the song play through at least the first time. I believe you get a more fuller emotional impact that way. But to each his or her own. Great job Sister!!!
Finally someone who allows us all to enjoy the full range and joy of this unique and well performed classic 60s song....I graduated high school when this came out....what a time it was...never to be repeated....thank you kindly
Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harmon as well as Town Without Pity by Gene Pitney are two of my very favorite songs ever. I am 76 years old and they take me back to special music. Thank you for your playing of Purple Harmon it was a real treat. Blessings from South Africa
Good reaction to the best band ever in my opinion and so well supported by orchestra and choir. There are many great songs by them, maybe A Salty Dog or Grand Hotel for starters.
Hi Roseline! "A Whiter Shade of Pale" is one of the most commercial successful singles in history, having sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. In the years since the song has become an enduring classic with more than 1000 known cover versions by other artists. Rolling Stone magazine placed it 57th on its list of the 500 Greatest songs of all time.
Most people react the same way when they hear his voice... glad you liked the performance... from my time...a long time ago... when life was simpler and kinder and love was all around us... thank you...
Procol Harum is a band and this song was released in 1967. Gary Brooker, the singer, wrote the song and was 62 at the time he was singing in the video. He passed away in 2022.
Love this song. I actually prefer the studio version from the 60's as it is the one I grew up on. This live version is very good though as it shows how powerful Gary Brooker's voice was even as he got older. "Conquistador" is another great song by Procol Harum. Sad to hear of his passing recently.
the lyrics contain a considerable amount of period context. in this case psycodelic way. Mixed emotions than one used to feel on the occasion of a first meeting between a boy and a girl. nervousness expectations, shame, desire to be reciprocated. I don't know if it's still like that today... but at that time it was exactly how we felt. the music brings all these sensations back to those who lived and was young in that time.
❤ Step 1 - Orchestra prelude Step 2 - Gary Brooker and orchestra Step 3 - Gary Brooker + orchestra + band (Procol Harum) + choir “A WHITER SHADE OF PALE” was released by Procol Harum in 1967 and it was their first single ❤ RIP Gary Brooker 1945 - 2022 *PROCOL HARUM is a latin expression that means "beyond these things”, but the legend tells that was a Burmese Blue cat, that belonged to a friend of the band and that he lived until 1972. The cat’s name was actually Procul Harun, but the cat’s name was misspelled.
Great choice for a reaction. Your camera positioning is way too low so if you could raise it up about to just below your eye level that way your viewers won't be looking up your nose. Lots of You tubers have trouble getting a proper camera angle so just a suggestion.
This power of music is transformative. Sadly Gary Brooker died shortly after this performance. Thank God for YT so we can experience things like this for ever.
Sorry but this is awful, Procol Harum did it better when I heard them in concert nearly 50 years ago at Hammersmith Odeon.( the intro stated with keyboards)
When he sings high I get the chills and forget to breathe.
Thank you for not interrupting this excellent song as so many others do. You allowed us to enjoy it as it built toward its climax. Well done. You got a like from me.
Thanks for watching 🤗💯
Glad you enjoyed it you are the best

Your reaction to this classic pop song from 1967 is exactly how we all responded, after hearing it! It still resonates today!

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it

Very poor reaction … uttering My God and Oh! adds nothing to this wonderful song.
I’m sorry, but simply uttering ‘Oh my God’ twenty times through the song adds no value at all. Glad you enjoyed this amazing version, but really?
Sorry but this is awful, Procol Harum did it better when I heard them in concert nearly 50 years ago at Hammersmith Odeon.( the intro stated with keyboards)
Awful?
Sorry...I'm glad you saw them live but this awful? Lol!! You out yo mind...
Swing and a miss.
Awful ? Show some damn respect will you. As if you can do better ? We are all sitting here waiting for you to upload your version.
It's a great performance
I'm glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching
