Definitely a good entry level stylus supporting smartphone and hopefully we will see what the 5G model of this will offer us as well. My hope is that they do release one for this year.
I say no kudos. It's a huge downgrade from all previous versions of the Moto G Stylus! They have always had 1080p screens. This one has 720p. This version has the smallest screen of them all. The 2021 and 2022 versions had 6.8 inch screens, but this one has 6.5 inches. The original had a 6.4 inch screen, but because of the aspect ratio, it actually also has a bigger screen than the 2023 version. The front facing cameras of all past versions were 16 megapixels. The 2023 version has 8 megapixels.The past versions had 3 or 4 rear facing cameras, but this one has only 2. Furthermore, the Mediatek G85 processor in the 2023 version is the 2nd worst processor of all Moto G Stylus phones. Only the 2021 version has a worse processor, with the Snapdragon 678. So, as you can see, this phone is an insult when the 2020 version was better. This years should be the best yet.
I'm 7 months late to this party, but I just purchased the Moto G Stylus (2023) 4G. I said I would never want another carrier locked phone and I would never want a "budget" phone. My carrier actually has this phone on sale for the holidays at $70. I couldn't resist. At this price point I can use it for a while and give it away when I'm done. I've got to say though that I am really impressed with this phone for the money. It is high value, packed with features and a long lasting battery. I am very happy with it and highly recommend it if you are looking for a very good, inexpensive phone.
📻 Does it have FM radio like the 2022 model? I use it for talk radio and news at work, and it's so much easier, simpler, data-friendly than internet radio.
Just bout one yesterday I'm using it right now to add this comment... So far I agree with literally everything your saying. More companies should make budget friendly devices like this and still keep functionality, practicality, and endurance 👍👍
Did your come with the MDM app? Your phone will read at bottom of screen upon opening... This device belongs to your institution. I'm not too happy about that. If mine is the only one then that means I purchased from US Cellular a refurbished phone sold to me as new. So, I'm trying to find out if anyone else has this. So far no answers from anyone.
Pretty cool looking colors they used for these devices. Curious whether Motorola are ever going to start advertising that their Edge devices also support stylus input. If they launched one of those with the built-in stylus it would be pretty sweet.
If they make the stylus better, I'd definitely consider a higher end model of this since Samsung insisted on destroying the Note. I have the Note 20 Ultra at the moment because it's the last S Pen phone to support expandable storage. I can't imagine needing more than this for at least 2 more years, but Samsung really messed up taking away the option to use an SD card
It's funny because in the video I kept mistakenly putting the stylus on the left like Samsung does for their phones. This is truly trying to give a budget entry level experience with a stylus but it is nowhere near the advancement that Samsung is done with the S-Pen
I feel like sometimes Moto G series are like a hit and miss, my first Moto G (G1 with 16GB) was an amazing phone in several ways, but after that the increased the models on the G category and many were not good, this one has so many good points, headphone jack, stylus, a fast enough screen and a good price, so it might be the hit this time
I just bought one as a backup as I normally keep two Samsung Notes/Ultra on hand at all times, but a family member needed a phone so I had to sacrifice my backup.
I miss removable Batteries... I think they do it on purpose so people are forced to buy new. I still have Samsung and Nokia phones from 2010 just with new batteries ..

I think the stylus is pretty much the same as what we had last year with the 5G model. The improvements they focused on this year were primarily on the high refresh display and the stereo speakers

You cant go wrong with this phone... Im NOT spending 1000-1500.00 dollars for a cellphone OR 100.00+ a month for service. (I pay less than 50.00 a month). If your oldschool OR want a budget phone. Buy one / thank yourself later
I have the 5g 2023 one and the back is flat. Its through Boost mobile and it also came with the charger brick to but i think its only a 10watt brick. its a 120hrtz screen now too

I agree with you they should have gone with a more powerful processor My only worry is would they have been able to bring down the price the way they did and still improve the processor and the stereo speakers and the display refresh rate. It's always a hard decision on how to Taylor a smartphone to a specific price point
@@TKBay weaker processor is fine but the emmc is definitely no longer the standard for today's usage , ufs is the norm here, and g85 dont have that, g99 does up to ufs 2.2 which boost up the daily usage capabilities which this phone is all about

I have a moto 5g stylus 2022, and compared to my old samsung note 4 from many years ago. The stylus is just not good, Motorola have to seriously upgrade their game.
Very disappointing, the Moto G Stylus 2023 uses the Mediatek Helio G85 SoC. This is not very feasible, Mediatek Helio G85 is very slow and only eMMC 5.1 not UFS
They wanted to bring the stereo speakers to this device and keep it under 200 MSRP. I would hope they bring the 5g model from last year and that should be a more powerful device
Motorola is getting worse and worse. Guessing the economy is hitting them too. Judging by how much worse products have gotten and how expensive they are, I guess Motorola is being generous. I mean a big mac is $10 and smaller than it was 10 years ago. I guess we should be happy we don't have to pay$5000 for 240p or 480i screen nowadays.
Motorola keeps finding ways to ruin this phone. Weak chipset and 720P display is horrible. And they made it cheaper by taking away storage. 64GB. They may fool some but it wont be me. This device is a worse device then previous yrs.
For the price point that they were asking I would have imagined that the display would be a 1080p 90 Hertz refresh rate display. I do hope that when and if the 5G edition of this phone gets a refresh for 2023 that they're able to at least improve the functionalities there

I would request potential buyers of this device to check the Motorola forum on the edge 30 ultra (predecessor to this device and other new devices launched at the end of 2022). The device as it stands today is still stuck on android 12 and has even had all security updates delayed. The phone has various bugs that remain unattended despite months of complaints from multiple users and the camera is sub par to what Motorola has advertised. The advertisements do not tell the truth. The customer care is terrible. Accessories, even basic items like the charger itself are unavailable for purchase from the market or Motorola's website itself. Buyer beware

I understand that Motorola provided you with this unit to review but you are being way too nice. I feel like you're not being objective at all. This almost sound like an infomercial for the phone. They are giving you an inferior product from previous years you haven't said anything about that. I'm sorry this is just my opinion but you are seemingly keeping a relationship over the facts.
I do want to clarify that this is not a review it was an unboxing and initial impressions. The point of the video is to do an overview of the features that are included. The review will come after I've had some time with it.

This could just be the 2023 LTE version with the 2023 5g version coming in the future with better specs.
They have a weird method of which phones have charging bricks.
