    I just bought this as I got a really good deal of 25% off and I would love a more instructional video if that was possible. Really enjoyed this review and it was the thing that pushed me to buy it. It’s my first record player and I’m very excited to get into this hobby!

    Great video closing! I love your channel! This is a nice unit. Well built. The anti skate issue may be a deal breaker for picky buyers. The average user will not notice it. This is a very attractive alternative to use right out of the box. Thanks again! I enjoyed it!!

    Love watching your reviews and keep the guidance and schooling coming. It’s been 30 years since I owned a record player and I want to get back in to it. Just haven’t pulled the trigger on a player yet. I’m thinking the C8. Based on your review of that player I like that one best. Cheers.

    The fact that it's pulling towards the rest means there is anti-skate applied. You would need to test on a test record or acrylic platter mat to see if there's enough or too little. My instinct tells me they adjusted it for this particular cartridge at the factory. But I agree it would be better to have an anti-skate adjustment.

    Easiest way to open boxes like this:
    Set it on its side.
    Cut open the BOTTOM. Fold the flaps away (the one on the table, fold it under.)
    HOLDING THE CONTENTS IN, turn the box right side up.
    Grab two of the flaps (opposite sides) and lift. It will slide right out, right side up.
    Many, MANY years of building custom PCs taught me this.
    Bonus: After it's out of the box, you can cut the top open and fold the box flat for easy storage or easy disposal.
    Also, the outside pull of the tone arm is probably factory pre-set to counteract the tendency to pull INWARD on a rotating disk. Similar to the way the LP60's tracking is factory preset.

    Hey Record-ology Dude Man! I'm sorry that I haven't visited your site in quite a while. My Dad passed back in December (2020) and I have been distracted by other personal bits and pieces of life BUT I'm really glad you did this video because I usually don't like Crosley anything. I was visiting my second home, a Record Store I have been going to since 1991, and they sell Crosley Product and I have been wanting to get something to play records in my "Man Cave" and this beauty caught my eye and I was all but just about to grab one and bring on home with me. It was priced at about $200 and I was impressed by everything I seen on the box. This video may have pushed me into an area of uncharted origin known as Crosley. I really like it a lot. I am considering going back to the Record Store and grab one! I am sorry but I NEVER thought I would EVER consider a Crosley product. This video my have done it!
    I'm sure I speak for all you're subscribers when I say WE are glad your still on RUclips and You are always a nutty kind of host but We love you're Record Ology Channel!.......Please don't Go away!!

    I love this channel especially because you arent a debbie-downer stereo snob like every other channel. The rest think they automatically have to demean every brand like this. Why? They arent claiming to be $2000 rigs, but most ppl dont want/need/afford them. For most peoples needs and enjoynent something like this more than fills the bill. You are realistic and relatable to watch, and damn entertaining and informative. Your enthusiasm especially during "unboxing" is positively infectious. Your audio channel stands out and is refreshing! And no drama 👌

    I was thinking the other day it's been thirty years since I played an actual record. I wan't to get that feeling I had then back again. In those days the aim was to replicate the original sound as faithfully as your budget would allow. Choosing the amp, turntable, cartridge and speakers was great fun. We'd compare our hifi system with our mates, it was a great subject for lengthy discussion down the pub. I miss all that.
    I was tempted to buy one of these Crosley systems but seeing it has no anti-skate and the speakers could be better, I'll hold off a bit and buy a separate turntable and good active speakers. Many thanks for these videos, it is like being in the room with you and having that excitement of opening a new box of goodies.

    But I had expected a balance control,with Bass and Treble controls. This unit badly needs these. Although there's no rumble due to belt drive,clicks and scratches were present.

    Except for not having an anti skate adjustment, it would seem to me that the C62, because of its higher number, would be more top of the line than the C10. I, for one, appreciate the fact that you don’t have to change the position of the belt to change the speed (though I understand that there are those who prefer the hands on experience of moving the belt).
    I totally agree with you that there should be an anti skate adjustment on this-WHAT was Crosley thinking when they designed this???
    All in all, a good starter setup for someone just getting into vinyl, or someone who wants a basic all components together, but not in just one piece, a la the Cruiser.
    God is good indeed!!! 😀😀😀

    • @leonardblush2557
      @leonardblush2557 4 года назад +1

      The C10 is a much better table.
      Unless they bought a bunch of Pro-Ject platters, the Chinese factory looks to have designed a nice knockoff. I note that the nearly identical One-By-One system does include a Pro-Ject style anti-skate. $40 more however.
      All in all, a nice little system for a kid's first table.

    this a very good looking system I love the speakers they look like they can produce good sounds I was wondering about the anti-skate this turntable looks like it has the audio technica cartridge you have seen on the ATLLP-60 I know it does not have a antiskate setting but I've heard it is set at the factory and I saw a video of it being tested with a video disc ,it did not move to center it stayed were it was placed perhaps they to set it for this cartridge ,I cannot believe they would make this nice great looking TT and not have it set with anti-skating just curious I 'm sure you could find out JRo

    The surround of that woofer is very thick and it sticks out. That's certainly a good thing.
    It means the woofer driver has a long excursion, so it can produce deeper bass 💪
    6:16 you might want to consider inserting some subtitles to translate the pounds to kg, so people don't need to pause the video and do a google on 5 pounds.

    I was looking for a 2nd system and picked up one of these up with the speakers, brand new and free shipping from Ebay for $125. Just came in a couple hours ago. Been playing all kinds of different stuff from opera to metal, sound great to me. Think I got a hell of a deal for the money. Only issue I had was with the tone arm. Wasnt really giving me an accurate pressure reading on my scale. Think I got it set pretty well though and sounds fine. Probably going to upgrade the cartridge and get new speakers eventually but so far so good.

    The c62-b added the anti skate. Did you happen to review that? I am looking into my first entry level turn table. With that said I am not a stranger to audio, I consider myself a “audiophile” and have been into home theater and mobile audio professional for years. So I tend to jump past entry level. I am currently looking at the Crosley c8, c100bt, c62-b, and of course Audio-Technica at-lp 120xusb. Each of these have different options and offer different features. I have watched all your reviews on the above turntables of my selections what would you personally go with?

    The issue with the tone arm is serious.. I 'had that problem a few times in the past. Adding more needle pressure was a temporary solution with, as you know, high consequences on your needle and cartridge. Any deeper scratch or excessive dirt or dust will cause skipping. I promise! I would send it back or ask how to fix the problem. However it is beautiful and really has a reasonableness price! Do you think this should have it'own base and treble controls? Did the sound have a flat response? Also your wife is a saint to let you abuse her granite! Love the God is Good sign! Keep safe!

    The platter certainly looks like a Pro-Ject, the belt key is identical to the Pro-Ject one and the arm also looks like pure Pro-Ject. However the counter weight doesn't, it looks cheaper than the ones found in any Pro-Ject. I wonder if they make some parts for OEMs only and don't put them in their own decks? I know Crossley have sold Proj-Ject based decks in the past. Certainly an interesting piece of equipment.

    • @leonardblush2557
      @leonardblush2557 4 года назад +2

      It certainly does appear to have some Pro-Ject parts, but this is definitely made (put together?) in China and the C10 in the Czech Republic. It looks like this tonearm is a little shorter than a Pro-Ject 218.5 (8.6" ). That length is specified on the C10, but no length is given with the C6- C62 or the 1byone tables that seem to have this arm. Hard to say for sure, though.

    I'm looking into the C62 for an upgrade from my Crosley Cruiser. It's good to know that the speakers are a decent quality. I'm also curious - have you had any experience hooking up turntables to a 2.1 computer-style speaker system? the piece of furniture that I'm wanting to place it on may be a few inches short for the width of the table + speakers and I have a spare set of computer speakers + subwoofer that would fit much easier on there. just not sure how the quality might be affected. thanks!

    Once you balance the counterweight, how much do you turn it? In other words, how much pressure should it play records with?

    • @Recordology
      @Recordology  3 года назад +1

      Depends on the cartridge...this one I believe is 2.5 to 3.

    Looks like a really decent system! It's unfortunate they give you a counterweight 'n stuff, but they don't give you a user adjustable Anti-skate? What gives, Crosely?! I'm sure if you opened it up, there is a way to adjust the anti-skate in some way shape or form.

      Mine didn't even come with the Counterweight... Also, I am having the hardest time finding a replacement part or even the part number in fact. Any help would be appreciated!

  • @halleighkraker1886

    Is the anti-skate adjustment something that can be added with another part or is it something that's just included or not? If not, do you think its worth the added price of the C10? I love that its an all-in-one solution for beginners which is what I'm looking for, especially since it sounds like the speakers are worth it in your eyes. I'm just wondering if not having that mechanism would be super harmful to the records over time and render them useless for when I could upgrade the whole system? Thanks for the review and letting us hear it in action!

    • @Recordology

      Good question - I think it does have anti-skate - just that its factory set. I wouldn't worry too much about it. The C62 is awesome.

      Record-ology oh just as an FYI I reached out to crosley and they recommended the C8 to me because this one does not have the anti-skate and it can’t be added:) the C8 looks crazy close to fluance’s turntables and I wonder if they’re by the same manufacturers

    I just got this player but would like the option to adjust the bass and treble.
    What would you recommend for adjusting the bass and treble? A receiver? Preamp?

    • @Recordology
      @Recordology  2 года назад

      Either a receiver or powered speakers.

      If you want an automatic turntable I would start with an LP 60 X. If you want a manual turntable I would start with an LP 120 XUSB

      When you are playing normal records (33 1/3 RPM) with a small hole you don't need the adapter. When you are playing a 7 inch record (45 RPM) with a large hole you need the adapter. Hope this helps!
