PS - And don't tell me "Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim." This hadith is referring to Islamic knowledge concerning obligatory beliefs and actions, e.g., aqida, knowledge of how to pray, fast, etc. It does not include "college education." If it did include college education, then this hadith would mean getting a college education is obligatory and if you are not college educated, you have committed a sin and are liable for punishment from Allah. Which is a ludicrous interpretation no one accepts.

Well that might be true as well, but this life is not always like that at times
The problem starts with the unfounded belief that you can use human parts to make money through certain rituals. Anyone growing up where such beliefs are propagated is likely to think it is true and that is how some are tempted to indulge in what this young man has done. Human parts don't correspond to money or wealth through any rituals the sooner people realise it the better.
This needs to be a PSA, Public Service Announcement, that is on the TV and the radio several times a day and everyday, in Nigeria.
