Does the Surf side have buffets and how many bedrooms does it have and what’s the cost when let’s say my family wants to go and does this Hotel do like Military discounts ? as well and Is their another hotel over that has a big room for like 8 people and so do you recommend hotels that has a two bedroom besides that the Surf side hotel ?
We stayed at Dockside for the first time recently and loved it! the bus ride was much much quicker then I thought. Loved the vibe and feel of this resort. 10/10 definitely staying here again!
I stayed 2 weeks before Christmas and the only complaint I have was they didn’t clean the toilet for quite some time because under the seat the pee splash had turned brown. They offered a deep clean after we brought it up and how disgusting it was but that was never done. Outside of that it’s a great hotel easy 5 stars but that brings it down to a two for me.
@@Lorena-OT7 I didn't notice thin walls, but maybe we had quiet neighbors? I feel like it's hit or miss at some of the hotels on the property if you have noisy neighbors or not. We also were out late and returned to our room at about 11 PM, and went straight to bed. The room we had was the family suite with a separate bedroom, so our family members stayed in the 2 queens in the main part and I had the private room. Maybe it was quieter for me in the private room. Overall it was a great experience for the price, and the shuttle bus ran a lot more frequently and quicker than I expected.
2018 was our first time to Universal and we stayed at Cabana Bay. Had an absolute BLAST. We went back to universal 2019 and 2020 We didn’t stay at resorts and honestly, both trips were trash. It’s SO SO SO worth spending the money for a nice ON SITE resort.
We stayed at the Aventura Hotel in March. It was great. Very nice and modern rooms. Being on the 12th floor in a tower style hotel made for some amazing views of the parks, especially at night!!!! The roof top bar is very cool as well!!!
Me and my s/o are staying at Cabana Bay soon in May this year! We’re staying for a whole week and I am so excited! Plus we got a Volcano Bay view in our room
Awesome video, Rick. I'm glad I found your channel, as my family has been making annual trips to Universal since the early 2000s. You have some great tips and reviews. However, there is no way Royal P is closer than Hard Rock to City Walk and IOA.
If you’re staying at Cabana Bay listen to Rick.. stay in the towers, the other side is suites and paying for the upgrade is not worth it. It’s bad when the cheaper rooms are nicer than the suites. We payed for the extra space earlier this month during one of the meetups. One suite room one regular in the tower. The suite room was rundown, dirty, and half the amenities broken.

Stayed there a week ago. Nice being close to the park and overall a great vibe. But yeah the rooms are getting dated and the luke warm shower wasn’t great.
We LOVED Portofino Bay and the Club Level rooms! Gorgeous resort, great service. Our room in the villa section was remodeled and HUGE! Best night sleep-very comfortable beds.
Our favorite hotel is Royal Pacific…stayed there twice this year and it was wonderful both times. The walk to the citywalk/theme parks was easy and sometimes faster than the water taxi. The express passes more the made up for the cost of the room. Hoping to make it back again soon.

Absolutely loved our stay at Surfside as we really enjoy being on I Drive so you get the best of both worlds. We are always torn on our favourite Universal hotel - Hard Rock or Portifino? It's a tough one.
Dockside is amazing value for the price! Hard Rock is my favorite though because of the ease of entering the parks, location, pool, theming, etc. It's just so cool. If we stayed at a different hotel than Endless Summer, could we pool hop over to Hard Rock??
Royal Pacific is our go to hotel when we visit because it usually has the cheapest rates of the 3 Premier hotels. stayed there a half dozen times now and have not had a bad experience yet. We have stayed at Hard Rock once, the hotel was fantastic however we found the food to be a tad bit better at Royal Pacific, especially the kids. We are however gonna be visiting in 2 weeks and are staying at Portofino this time (got a really great discount on the rooms). I am super excited to check out this hotel!

I would disagree with your Rickomendation of staying in the tower rooms as Cabana Bay. Those rooms are the furthest away from the buses and that is a long walk, especially at the end of the day. I've only stayed there once and got a tower room, I would not stay in the tower again.
Staying at Portofino right now and previously stayed at the Royal Pacific. Would go back to the Royal if I had a choice. The rooms in the Portofino need some sprucing up.
I’ve been staying at Cabana Bay for the last three years. Love it. Though, I’m definitely looking to go to any of the other hotels this year when it’s time for HHN31.
I’ve stayed at Sapphire, I loved it, I had dockside booked for last year x 2 however as I had to rebook for the third time I rebooked for Royal Pacific, I have Dockside booked for 2023 though , it may change again I would love to try Cabana Bay too.
Just a warning about charging on your room account. We stayed at Portofino and made a merchandise purchase at the park. We returned the outfit to the store. And cannot get the credit. Using the charge card for food is great.
Hey Rick We're heading back over the Pond again in June for my 50th Celebrations and staying at the Sapphire falls this time (Lagoon View room). Can you point us in the direction of your review of this Hotel please as I can't seem to find it?? We stayed at the Aventura on our last visit after your review of it when it first opened and enjoyed it a lot and used the Water Taxis after your advice. We also pool hopped to Sapphire Falls once, hence our decision to book there this time around as we though it was lovely. Also, any advice on how to get a few extras when celebrating special occasions over in Universal? 🙂 If you don't ask - you don't get I suppose😂😂 Looking forward to all your videos from now until June 21st. Wow, I wonder how Universal snagged a spot of land on International Drive to build that hotel. I thought it was completely filled in with no room for extra hotels or attractions. Rix, when was pool hopping allowed from Cabana Bay or Aventura? I tried this when I went and they wouldn't let me do it.
Um yeah…there isn’t one. When we stayed there it was Father’s Day and Nikki asked me if I wanted to film and I didn’t end up doing it. I completely forgot until after we filmed this OVERVIEW vid and when I went to look for it, it dawned on me it was never filmed. We are planning on staying this year again and doing a complete resort tour this time. It’s a great hotel/resort. Do you have any questions we might be able to answer? Sorry about the confusion.

I agree! My niece and I splurged on a suite at Dockside. It was perfect. We both loved it.

Aventura is our spot, we loved staying for a week and we would walk next door and take the water taxi. :)

I stayed at Adventura. Really liked it, used Sapphire's water taxi to get to the parks, and it's pretty much on the doorstep of Volcano Bay.
I'm staying there this week. Flying in from Michigan tomorrow. Can't wait.

Aventura is a really good hotel, but the parking garage just wasn’t the best, it never worked regardless of you staying at the hotel

Dockside and Surfside might be "value" hotels, but compared to Disney's value hotels, they are definitely 10 times better..

So how much can my hotel card buy? Can it buy dinner at City Walk? Being able to ditch a debt/credit card in favor of the one card seems ideal.
What ever you cards limits are. Basically it just charges everything to your room. So what ever card use for the room is what is eventually charged
