I personally have been on welfare 4 times in my 41 years .I HATED every second of it.Last time I was on welfare was like 2014,it wasn't for long.i was off it by the end of the year. I don't have a serious issue with welfare.i just have an issue with people who NEVER LEAVE IT

Back in the mid 70's the company my Dad worked for went on strike. He was laid off because the company was unionized, so he took part-time work and odd jobs to make up for the loss of income but it wasn't enough as he had a wife and 5 sons to feed. I was only 11 or 12 at the time but even back then I saw how this affected him, he was one of the hardest working men men I have ever known--Navy SeaBee, Korean War veteran, and former police officer who never used the color of his skin (strong black man) as an excuse for failure. Having said that, he didn't like government handouts but he did finally apply for food stamps. He instilled in my brothers and I a strong work ethic and to earn what you get, and I have instilled that in my sons. I only wish more fathers were like that.

The welfare system is a generational system. It makes one not want to do better because you will be ineligible for benefits. People on Section 8 for 20+ years is crazy. I know people that will work low wage jobs or quit good paying jobs if it will stop their benefits. Welfare and Section 8 programs were meant o be a hand up not a way of life.

That junk food will eventually contribute to their health decline and taxpeyers will have to pay for their medical expenses to fix problems from bad food choices. The types of food offered should not include chips and soda from taxpayers. I work in a grocery store and see what customers buy with their EBT card.
I used to rely on government assistance and then I realized it was holding me back. I was worried about getting a job where I made a little too much money that would make me lose my government benefits, and then I realized how it was holding me back in life. So I let go of my fears, moved to a new state, let go of my section 8, got a ok paying job, worked my butt of and got promoted within 9 months, and I am no longer getting any assistance from the government. It has freed me from that mental state of lack, and now I am in a mental state of growth and prosperity. I love your content, you are a very wise man.✌🏻💖
I think high schools need to do better. You are going to learn everything you need to know by the 10th grade. Your junior and senior year should be learning a trade. All trades should be in the high schools with possible apprenticeship after your senior year. I think they should bring back home economics classes, and put in anger management classes, how to be a good citizen, etc.. if you’re one of these people who were raised in this perpetual welfare system you need an out and that should be your schooling even in grade school and middle school. I don’t think they do near enough to help raise successful children.

Idk if welfare programs do this already, but they should conduct audits on all receivers at least quarterly. To track if their financial situation is improving. If you’re a prime working age, able bodied, able minded adult who has not found employment or is not actively looking. That’s an indication that they are exploiting welfare. I had to use it once. after a Year of fighting for it, It was that bad for me but they Really dislike giving single males even a smidge of assistance. But when I was finally on it they would recommend you just stay unless you find a job that pays Significantly more then what I was getting from the assistance. Which if you on assistance in the first place despite the job market Most low level jobs barely pay more then the assistance. I gotten a Union job eventually and gotten off but Many of those who are on welfare are shielded By the workers themselves bending the rules. some to their benefit some against it. I was mad at a certain demographic because activists told me they are the reason for my current condition. Then I started researching my own family history. My grandfather was a wealthy man who bought and had property in NYC and Texas and my grandmother walked away from that marriage to go be a younger guy who recently passed away from alcoholism. My eldest aunt was 15 years old at the time and confirmed that he was a good husband and good father and never understood why she left him. It's family. That's who to blame for all of this dysfunction. Not other people with different tones.
Theres folks that are 3rd and 4th generation born in the projects. #1 factor among them is lacking an education. #2 is lacking knowledge. They'll never know they are only one generation away from fixing this problem. People would rather receive free crumbs than work to buy a feast.

The thing that is the most insidious about the welfare system, and frankly, how things are run in America now is how they cut you off when you try to get out of poverty. Now obviously, you want to not rely on welfare, but it's like the income limit that they set is specifically made so that the moment you get out of poverty, you are greatly struggling. I call this the struggle zone. I am very familiar with it because this is what my mother had been dealing with (going between this and poverty) after divorcing my father. That area between poverty and lower middle class is the worst position you could ever be in. You make just enough money to sustain yourself, but then you can't even save money. So what happens if your car breaks down? Now you don't have any money to fix it up, or if you do, that money you saved will just slowly run out over time because you have no way to save it up. I think this would be less of a problem if America wasn't so reliant on cars. The car centrism of North America greatly exasperates the problems of poverty, but that's a topic for another day. Nonetheless, it really feels like the only way to truly get out of poverty is to make a "jump" in income, going from poverty, past the struggle zone and into lower middle class, or getting some good business opportunity. You can't *slowly* make your way out of poverty unless you're lucky enough for things not to go wrong in the struggle zone where you're actually able to take enough time to build enough skills/get enough experience at your job so you can move onto something better. Thing is you can kinda do this while on welfare too, if you're willing to do some unconventional ventures like a youtube/streamer career or becoming a professional artist for instance. This is basically how you make your *jump*. The struggle zone is a very dangerous position. I've observed it, no, experienced it myself. My mother and I have been homeless a few times in the past all because of this struggle zone. Maybe other people may have too, further contributing to that 'poverty' mentality when the system is set up such that it wants to keep you on welfare.
I grew up knowing the joys of a welfare Christmas, had my daughter while in high school, Work Work and More Work got me the ability to buy a home for my family,. I'm not sure what planet you're from but on Earth there's definitely a job training/ work requirement when receiving assistance. Obviously after those requirements are fulfilled you won't need assistance 🤔

Or take one online class per semester that the program covers, and you can maintain benefits due to “training.” We have free trade programs, but unfortunately our area is flooded with those specific workers and the entry wages are low due to this.

Every federal agency submits a request for funding that comes from the tax money collected. A credit indicates a disbursement made to later be repaid. Again, how is this a "credit" for payment to a non contributing to be a taxpayer? Are you saying he has to pay it back?

That's not to say that "welfare" can't be problematic, but in a basic sense - if society doesn't make some efforts to care for it's most needy, the cost can actually be greater in the long run.

I was mad at a certain demographic because activists told me they are the reason for my current condition. Then I started researching my own family history. My grandfather was a wealthy man who bought and had property in NYC and Texas and my grandmother walked away from that marriage to go be a younger guy who recently passed away from alcoholism. My eldest aunt was 15 years old at the time and confirmed that he was a good husband and good father and never understood why she left him. It's family. That's who to blame for all of this dysfunction. Not other people with different tones.

I appreciate you covering this topic. I grew up really poor and saw many families take advantage of the welfare system. Reform is needed for welfare. Provide welfare to widows ,not to ratchet moms who have no discipline and leach the system.
One day welfare will not exist . Everybody will work . Joining the military is a great place to start . You get an education food a place to stay even retire after 20 years with medical dental vision .

The thing that is the most insidious about the welfare system, and frankly, how things are run in America now is how they cut you off when you try to get out of poverty. Now obviously, you want to not rely on welfare, but it's like the income limit that they set is specifically made so that the moment you get out of poverty, you are greatly struggling. I call this the struggle zone. I am very familiar with it because this is what my mother had been dealing with (going between this and poverty) after divorcing my father.
That area between poverty and lower middle class is the worst position you could ever be in. You make just enough money to sustain yourself, but then you can't even save money. So what happens if your car breaks down? Now you don't have any money to fix it up, or if you do, that money you saved will just slowly run out over time because you have no way to save it up. I think this would be less of a problem if America wasn't so reliant on cars. The car centrism of North America greatly exasperates the problems of poverty, but that's a topic for another day.
Nonetheless, it really feels like the only way to truly get out of poverty is to make a "jump" in income, going from poverty, past the struggle zone and into lower middle class, or getting some good business opportunity. You can't *slowly* make your way out of poverty unless you're lucky enough for things not to go wrong in the struggle zone where you're actually able to take enough time to build enough skills/get enough experience at your job so you can move onto something better. Thing is you can kinda do this while on welfare too, if you're willing to do some unconventional ventures like a youtube/streamer career or becoming a professional artist for instance. This is basically how you make your *jump*.
The struggle zone is a very dangerous position. I've observed it, no, experienced it myself. My mother and I have been homeless a few times in the past all because of this struggle zone. Maybe other people may have too, further contributing to that 'poverty' mentality when the system is set up such that it wants to keep you on welfare.

I'm not sure what planet you're from but on Earth there's definitely a job training/ work requirement when receiving assistance. Obviously after those requirements are fulfilled you won't need assistance 🤔

Or take one online class per semester that the program covers, and you can maintain benefits due to “training.” We have free trade programs, but unfortunately our area is flooded with those specific workers and the entry wages are low due to this.

I have no idea what you mean when you use the term "credit." Money comes from my paycheck for collection and payment to the federal government. The government uses all collected funds in its annual budget. Every federal agency submits a request for funding that comes from the tax money collected. A credit indicates a disbursement made to later be repaid. Again, how is this a "credit" for payment to a non contributing to be a taxpayer? Are you saying he has to pay it back?

See this is where we're gonna disagree. One of the reasons poverty is so bad in your country is the lack of social safety net. That's not to say that "welfare" can't be problematic, but in a basic sense - if society doesn't make some efforts to care for it's most needy, the cost can actually be greater in the long run.
