  • We're back with another Project 944 video! Today, Liam and Jared started the process of transferring parts from our old Porsche 944 S2 to the brand-new one we bought recently. That means, a lovely new wheel, changing over the air filter to a K&N one and sorting out the distributor system. Next up? A massive lights overhaul with custom rear tail lights, new Raybrig front headlamps and interior lighting upgrades.

    WE BACK WITH ANOTHER 944 VIDEO ❤

    Great enthusiasm for your 944. Don’t know the condition of your car, but if you haven’t done so yet, you should be replacing the fuel hoses to the fuel rail as these hoses can leak and cause engine fires after 30 years exposure in the engine compartment. I am restoring my ‘88 944 turbo and have spent the last two years buying up all the rubber related parts from Porsche including strut mounts, engine mounts, hoses, vacuum lines, etc. I also had linsey racing rebuild the engine as a 2.8 stroker with all new internals. Seems like a lot of 944 enthusiasts focus on the cosmetics rather than addressing the much needed replacement of worn components

    Verb: Hodge
    To inadvertently damage, impair or tamper with a mechanical or electrical component of a motor vehicle.
    Eg: “Jared has really hodged the lock on Liam’s Porsche.”

      Put that one straight in the dictionary!

    Plastidip the bezels black. that way if you get bored and want them silver again you can just peel the plastidip off without altering the actual bezel finish itself.

      For the cost of £15 for a replacement set, that wouldn't concern me too much! But plastidip isn't a bad shout.

      @@TheBackRoads Ah, I thought it would be way more than that, you know, given premium deutsche qualität.

    What I could gather from this video as well as the other of this new S2 is that the bumper is not stock? Do you have any info on what it is?

    • @TheBackRoads
      @TheBackRoads  Год назад

      Which bumper are you referring to? Front is stock, rear is stock but missing the rubber bumper protector.

      @KJBlakstad Год назад

      @@TheBackRoads hmm might just have been the angles then, was referring to the rear

    • @TheBackRoads
      @TheBackRoads  Год назад +1

      @@KJBlakstad Yeah the rear is just a naked bumper without the rubber trim! Makes more of a difference than I thought it would.

    • @TheBackRoads

      From the tests we're doing at the moment, it does look like it's possible with the stock nose panel! We'll have a video about it soon.

    Will you be taking the new 944 to the Bicester Scramble in April?

    • @TheBackRoads
      @TheBackRoads  Год назад +1

      It should be there and I'd imagine by that point it should have a good chunk of the mods we'd like to do to it as well.

    I think I'm going to tackle the clear indicators after watching this. I've got a project 944 too (for last 33 years)
    My latest mod this year is 70 mm throttle body. I've just changed clutch ,so after bedding in ,I'll be taking somewhere to get it on the rolling road to see what ,if anything, I've created 😁

      There will be a new video soon on the tail light upgrades! It's really lifted the car and made it look fresh. Interesting about the 70mm throttle body! Would be keen to know the outcome of the results as we'll be looking at some engine bits for ours soon. I'd like somewhere between 250-270bhp ideally.
