Probably because this is the one person we've seen her with that she doesn't feel like she has to put up a front around. It's another angry, hurt kid who is just trying to figure herself out. I hope they give the pair more scenes, honestly.
That's because in nearly every other scene Loona has been in (other than maybe some of the scenes with Tex), she's been either the one getting talked down to or the emotionally vulnerable one. This is basically the one time we see her playing the role of the senior person in the conversation, and I love that her first instinct is to jump straight to being the big sister figure and leveraging her own experiences to help someone even more vulnerable than herself.
I work in social services. Loona’s story hits me SOOOO hard because, to be frank, kids like her exist in the foster system as we speak; hopeless, angry, forgotten “almost 18 year olds” who are THIS close to being kicked into the street to fend for themselves. And almost all of them never get a break like she did, a person who sees past the hateful angry, untrusting exterior and sees a scared, hopeful, miserable child longing for a home. I’ve seen girls like her go into prostitution because they have no choice, or settle for shitty older boyfriends just so they don’t have to sleep in the street. One girl intentionally sought to get pregnant just so she could keep relying on government help while she sorted her life out in a homeless shelter six months after she was forced out of the foster system. I look at Loona and even though she’s a cartoon character, I feel hopeful for more older foster kids that maybe this show will inspire some people to give them a chance. It takes time to break through their shells, but trust me, they see when you’re genuine and they know when you’re trying to get through to them. Just give them a chance.
Just reading this makes me so hopeful about this world, it’s so nice seeing a social worker, a person who’s seen more than most people have, comment on this show. Stolas is what happens when the dad cares more about shielding their kid from marital problems than the mom. He's still not good, but at least he isn't vindictive.@@titan133760
Or Eleanor from the Good Place (a show with a similar plot to Hazbin Hotel by the way) realising her mom could always change but just didn't change for her cause she wasn't worth it.
"Why does he hate her more than he loves me" as someone who is going through a breakup that speaks volumes. Hate turns you into something you're not and often hurts the one who love most even if you never meant to.
I mean, to be fair, Octavia has no idea that: a) her parents only got married and had her due to political motives, b) her mother always hated her father and made his life a true hell even before Blitz appeared and c) her father only put up with her mother because he wanted for her to have a happy childhood with both parents there for her.
“Try to cut your dad some slack. He may not always get it right, but (looks at IMP lighter) he’s trying. That’s more important than you think.” Loona certainly cares about Blitzo during her talk about fathers and truly loves him as her dad. Like Stolas, he isn’t perfect, but loves his daughter to death. She has a new sister in Octavia and I hope to see more of the two together.
How much are you willing to bet that when Loona and Blitz are by themselves, they are the cutest father/daughter? Loona seems to be the 'affectionate in private' type.
I imagine Loona as the more "doesn't like to show she cares directly _ever"_ type, where she only shows she cares in ways that aren't obvious, like say helping him with something but not ever actually expressing that she's doing it because she cares about him, no "Here, let me help Blitz" or anything, just she helps and then moves on, but I could also see her as being more affectionate in private too. One thing I _do_ imagine is Blitz trying weird ways to bond with Loona, like say, taking her to play baseball. Despite it being more a "father-son" rather than "father-daughter" thing...
@@stephenbyrne2170right, but Blitz is her dad, Tex is someone Loons has a crush on, Via is someone she knows needs help and being pushed away at all would be detrimental. She isn't ready to be affectionate with everyone, especially Blitz. (She does a lot to show her love in the episode where they go to the party) He tries too hard and she knows he has his flaws. Just like him she is just waiting on the other boot to drop. She knows he loves her but she isn't use to his overly affectionate attitude towards her. Almost 18 years of being abused and unwanted can't be changed in 5 years. Especially since she still doesn't have a fully normal life. Sorry, I went on a tangent.
Can I just say, the scene of Loona being adopted by Blitzo makes this moment even more powerful? Loona still remembers a time where she didn’t have Blitzo or anyone and despite her anger issues, she’s actually super grateful and just don’t know how to express it (and probably hasn’t fully dealt with the trauma of being considered an unwanted child). She also probably has a lot of self-esteem issues which is why she takes criticism so seriously (because the adoption agency fucked her up), even though she knows Blitzo is a dad that’s trying his best.

Loona is definitely giving off Older Sister vibes here as she tries to console Octavia as best as she could, trying to remember how Blitzo would try to make her feel better whenever she’s in a bad mood.

Me too. These two are so sweet together. Loona is adorable being a big sister to Octavia and her spiel on fathers makes me wonder if she has baggage from her blood family.
That line from Loona is so important. "He's trying. That's more important than you think." It's something that's hard for kids to understand especially when times with their parents are rough, and same goes for the parents, but no matter how bad they mess up, if they're still trying. It means they care which means the world. It makes Loona would think to say it too, blitzo is probably the only person in her life to truly try. Even if he makes a million mistakes, he always cares to try. Which we can now she how much she appreciates
Like a lot of you, I don’t see Loona and Via as couple. I see them as sisters. Loona acts as a supportive big sister to Via and I think that is very wholesome. I would like to see them more in future episodes.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I think its actually a lot cuter for them to have more of a sibling relationship rather a romantic one. Loona being the older sister with more life experienced and Octavia still figuring things out.
I love how even in a dark and depressing show they still manage to hit all the feelings close to home. I could see these two becoming really good friends, hell maybe even sisters in future episodes
its weird cuz the reality is stella hates stolas more than she cares about anything else and its very clear with the newest episode, octavia will begin to realize the longer she is away from stolas how much stella hates stolas
The cuteness aside, judging by the way these two talk, is it possible they've interacted or had at least a few conversations before this? I honestly always knew they could get along with each if they met, and with their Dad's relationship, it wouldn't be surprising if they had met beforehand.
Loona and Octavia need more screentime together. Ooohhh they could be flower girls together at Blitzo and Stolas' wedding. Someone give us fanart please.
I’ve been waiting to finally see them interact and it was definitely worth it. They have an interesting contrast as they resent their dads for opposite reasons: Octavia feels neglected by her dad, while Loona feels smothered by hers. I hope to see more of the sisterly bond they’ve developed from this.
This side of Loona is wholesome, she acts like a big sister to Octavia from this conversation and she knows that Blitz is trying to be a good father like Stolas is to Octavia.
I broke down in front of my wife an kids at this scene, i never expected the show we watched together to kick me in the teeth like that. For it to spell out what i wanted to say but couldn't find the words. But since it happened i've started feeling better and stopped being so hard on people and myself. This scene will forever live in my mind as as moment i finally figured out how to live with myself and the times i used to think of myself as a failure of a father.
Literally, that is what everyone needs. Just someone that they can share feelings with, and not worry about being judged. In my opinion, it's sad that I don't see as many people caring about people for who they are. It's always about who are you and what you do. It shouldn't batter who you are or what your capable of. It's more important if they care and respect you. That's more power than what people think it is.
This was the realest scene, man. Made me feel like I wasn't watching a raunchy show about demons and killing. Lol It felt so....Genuine, I guess I can call it. Almost like something from Bojack. I always wanted to see these 2 bond over their fathers and how they feel about them. Glad we got that. Good job to the team for such a fun episode.
Luna is my favorite character because she is relatable. She emotionally incapable of being "vulnerable," and because of that she pushes people away when she feels emotions she doesn't understand.
Octavia being more happy with loona then her own father, kinda shows how much stolas sucks at being a father since he’s to busy with his relationship with Blitzo
Via needed a friend. Loona might not be the exact friend Stolas would ask for, but you can't be picky when your family is going through the magnitude of dysfunction hers is.
The look on Loona's face when she's looking at her lighter while it's lit has so many emotions in it that we've never seen before, a side of her that she doesn't know how to express normally, and I know it's because of the emotional trauma that she's suffered from being abandoned but it's nice to see that she's healing and starting to show this side of her instead of just constant anger and hatred
Hearing Octavia ask why Stolas seemed to care more about his hatred for Stella than his love for his daughter REALLY broke my heart, because we all know that couldn’t be any further from the truth; the only reason why Stolas put up with all the abuse and humiliation that *bitch* subjected him to for as long as he did was all so Via can have a normal childhood. He DOES love her so much immensely more than he hates Stella.
And Stolas kept Via ignorant of how Stella treated him until his affair with Blitzo was exposed. What I'm hoping is that Via sees that Stella doesn't love her either because Stella is incapable of any form of love. What I am also hoping for is that Stolas keeps Paimon as far away from Via as possible. He is the worst for selling his own son to a sociopath just so he could continue his bloodline, and God forbid that Paimon starts guilting Stolas for divorcing Stella.
Even though its the first time they talked like this, it feels almost like they known each other for a lifetime...is like looking at an older sibling trying to connect with a younger one.
why does he hate her more than he loves me? That line broke my heart, literally brought me to tears. Also love seeing the caring and calm side of Loona. Her heart is there just buried from past traumas.
The best part in this scene is that loona did something she'll probably won't do before blitz before a long time...she admitted she views him as her father and I love it.
Seeing Loona's more compassionate side.. It makes me EMOTIONAL!! ESPECIALLY this moment here.. Octavia, and Loona BOTH needed this moment.. And I hope to see more of them interacting soon. I could just see them chatting on Instagram just checking each-other's posts, and just all around being siblings.
I always love how Erica brings the passion to the character of what they like, what they’re going through, how they get through problems, and what they’re feeling, that’s why she’s my inspiration to be a voice actor
This scene made me love Loona even more. Before this she was just a moody badass with a hard history and had some daddy issues with Blitzo. But seeing her be so genuine here shows us how much she cares as well as how much she strives for the one's she cares about...

I agree...and I think Stolas and Blitz need to start over as genuine friends before they can even attempt to be something more.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I think its actually a lot cuter for them to have more of a sibling relationship rather a romantic one. Loona being the older sister with more life experienced and Octavia still figuring things out.
Same! Plus if Stolas and blitzo will be a couple, wouldn't that make Loona and Via sisters?👁👁
@SlyCooperRocks I didn't know she was 22, I'll stop shipping them
Isn’t Octavia aroace anyways?
I love how Octavia doesn’t really seem to care her parents split. She is upset more that stolas is giving her mom more attention then her.
I am scared that later Octavia will be bothered that Stolas gives more attention to Blitz than her
@@justmonika3365Aged like wine, unfortunately
Now we need a stand alone episode for a "Girl's Night Out" with these two, who's with me?
Loona, octavia, and Millie
I'm absolutely for it
@@zackv4850 nah m8, loona and via only
YAAAAAA WOOOOOO
Bro cooking some Gordon Ramsay shit right here
She has she forgot this because she doesn’t seem to remember this conversation in Sinsmas
Back here... clinging to the hope to see them hanging out like sisters one day
I love how even in a dark and depressing show they still manage to hit all the feelings close to home. I could see these two becoming really good friends, hell maybe even sisters in future episodes
> Watches show expecting it to be goofy comedy with funny furry bait
> Tears up seeing Liona’s backstory and hearing her ‘speech’ to Octavia
I think it's gonna become a little deeper than sisters, dude.
The moment Octavia was introduced I immediately knew her and Loona would get along. Glad to see that Vivzie did it justice.
The art style and animation in this show is amazing. Not just the fight scenes. This was a really well done scene
its weird cuz the reality is stella hates stolas more than she cares about anything else and its very clear with the newest episode, octavia will begin to realize the longer she is away from stolas how much stella hates stolas
Omg so cute 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
“Why does he hate her more than he loves me?”
That is such a raw line. Damn.
Octavia making little owl noises as she was waiving the smoke out of her face was so stinkin adorable ❤️
“Ugh, demons” well yes but also emotional, heartwarming hugs!
This was such a Sweet heart to heart between two characters that desperately needed Screen time
I’ve been waiting to finally see them interact and it was definitely worth it.
They have an interesting contrast as they resent their dads for opposite reasons: Octavia feels neglected by her dad, while Loona feels smothered by hers. I hope to see more of the sisterly bond they’ve developed from this.
I love this so much... Seeing loona be more than just a snarky heel, she can be an actual people person.
This side of Loona is wholesome, she acts like a big sister to Octavia from this conversation and she knows that Blitz is trying to be a good father like Stolas is to Octavia.
I think it's a little deeper than sisters, dude.
This proves Loona cares for Blitz and is grateful for his adopting her; even if she has a weird way of showing she cares
The sibling dynamic is already so great oh my god.
"Why does he hate her more then he loves me?"
That is an excellent question.
"why does he hate her more than he loves me?"
JUst ouch. thats so deep and emotionally pivotal in it all.
*"He may not always get it right, but... he's trying. That's more important than you think."*
- Loona from Helluva Boss
THIS SCENE WAS ANIMATED SO WELL LIKE WHAT?
"Why does he hate her more than he loves me?!"
GOD that stung.
Finally we got to see Loona and Octavia interacting for the first time!🤩😈🐺🦉
This was the realest scene, man.
This is the kind of stuff I like, heartwarming, good moments. Also, I think these two are bound to become good friends.
props to the animation team for the eyes at 1:44. there's a lot of soul and care behind them, the tender smile being a huge bonus.
I love how Viv finally gave us something we wished for ever since episode 2
It's so sweet to see Loona here acting like the big sister for Octavia. They definitely sure are a very cute sister bond! 🥲
I think it's a little deeper than sisters, dude.
Loona with Blitz: F OFF
Loona with Octavia talking bout dads: hes alright
Luna is my favorite character because she is relatable. She emotionally incapable of being "vulnerable," and because of that she pushes people away when she feels emotions she doesn't understand.
Octavia being more happy with loona then her own father, kinda shows how much stolas sucks at being a father since he’s to busy with his relationship with Blitzo
It’s wonderful to see they’re officially friends now. And it’s also wonderful to see this rare softer side of Loona 🥹🥹🥹🥹
Seeing Loona and Octavia have a warm conversation is truly touching and beautiful. I hope Loona and Octavia will become sisters. 😊
0:42 this owl sound 😍😍😍
Via needed a friend. Loona might not be the exact friend Stolas would ask for, but you can't be picky when your family is going through the magnitude of dysfunction hers is.
Loona is legit beautiful when she genuinely smiles. ^__^
This and learning how Loona met blitzø are the best parts of this episode.
Stella was forced into the marriage too. It seems tormenting Stolas was her only escape.
Even though its the first time they talked like this, it feels almost like they known each other for a lifetime...is like looking at an older sibling trying to connect with a younger one.
Octavia has had, maybe 15 lines in the entire show, And every single line she says is pure gold.
The beginning of a friendship between a wolf and a owl
More wholesome and heartfelt moments like this are appreciated.
why does he hate her more than he loves me? That line broke my heart, literally brought me to tears.
Also love seeing the caring and calm side of Loona. Her heart is there just buried from past traumas.
The best part in this scene is that loona did something she'll probably won't do before blitz before a long time...she admitted she views him as her father and I love it.
The fact how loona being kind is enjoyable
This was one of the first times I Ever Saw Loona And Octavia Have Quality Sis Time.
Finally they finally get to interact cause I always knew they’ll be best friends
You know, for a hell hound, Loona gives a pretty damn good pep talk. "That's more important than you think."
Can I just say I love it how the moonlight shines after Loona (Luna, aka da moon) gives a genuine heart to heart to Via.
I am glad loona got some much needed character development. I hope viz focuses on Millie next
1:44 that loona face made me sooooo happy 😃
Seeing Loona's more compassionate side.. It makes me EMOTIONAL!! ESPECIALLY this moment here.. Octavia, and Loona BOTH needed this moment.. And I hope to see more of them interacting soon. I could just see them chatting on Instagram just checking each-other's posts, and just all around being siblings.
seeing loona struggle to turn a lighter on is so relatable to me
This show made by a small group of people is arguably far better than pretty much every big studio made show rn
That hug was so precious! 🥰💕
I always love how Erica brings the passion to the character of what they like, what they’re going through, how they get through problems, and what they’re feeling, that’s why she’s my inspiration to be a voice actor
Erica is amazing VA. I really love her voice work in Persona 5
1:42 to 1:46 is just amazeing, the art style, the lighintg, the animation
1:00 “ You don’t love mother and you don’t love me, you love .. *HIM.* “
Loona: "Yeah, smog's a b*tch"
*proceeds to smoke a cigarette*
I really love how Loona is characterized in the episode she’s amazing even though she’s very aggressive she’s very sweet💜🖤🤍🩶❤️
Aww. Luna is the embodiment of being able to change horizons 🫶
*"Why does he hate her more than he loves me?"*
...As someone with a narcissist for a parent, holy shit I felt that.
This is the best part of the episode
Nobody can tell me otherwise
This scene made me love Loona even more. Before this she was just a moody badass with a hard history and had some daddy issues with Blitzo. But seeing her be so genuine here shows us how much she cares as well as how much she strives for the one's she cares about...
Best written - and acted - scene in the entire show.
This is probably one of the most wholesome scenes in the show
Favorite scene so far, personally resonated with me a lot since all have been happening with my parents recently.
Honestly, this is just my opinion but i consider this the best scene in the entire series it's nice to have a break from all the violence and hornines
