Nice one! Just picked up a 2008 1.4 TDci with a saggy bumper! Only has 76k on the clock though 😎
I did this with mine but it didn't do the job as well as I was expecting it to. What really helped was changing the fasteners that attach the bumper to the wing.
I tried this same method as you however it didn't last long, replaced the plastic with bolts with a nut on the other side and washers and its held up a lot better, not perfect but definitely better.

Thats not a MK6, it's a MK5. The MK6 came in 2008.
in uk this is the mk6 but europe its the mk5
